XXX “God helps those who help themselves.”
XXX “You can’t (God can’t) steer a parked car.”
XXX “God expects us to do some things ourselves.”
XXX “We solve our problems ourselves.”
XXX “I say to myself, ‘You have much saved for many years, to eat and drink and enjoy yourself’.” *
XXX “I am rich; I have grown wealthy and need nothing.” **
XXX “And so on and so on, etc.”
And now, the rest of the story—the TRUTH, from God—His Word.
+++ “A very present help in times of trouble.”
+++ “God is our refuge in trouble.”
+++ *”I say to myself, ‘You have much saved for many years, to eat and drink and enjoy yourself’.’ BUT GOD said, ‘You fool—tonight your soul will be taken from you.
Then who will get all your stuff.
This is how it will be with whoever stores up things for themselves but is not rich toward God.”
** “I am rich; I have grown wealthy and need nothing.” But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind, and naked.”
