- To know Jesus and live for Him.
- To tell others how they can know Jesus.
- To be involved in the culture around us to “make a difference in the parts that are for keeps”.

X– “Don’t mix religion and politics”
? Is there a conflict between Christianity and the world around us ?
- YES
- Incompatible
- Inevitable
- Unavoidable
- Guaranteed
- Jesus promised this conflict—He did not say to avoid it,
“The world will hate you for following Me—because it hated Me first.” - Why would we experience this conflict, even such hatred ?
Must be because we are noticeably involved.
How ? - Jesus’ words again,
“You are the salt of the earth;
You are the light of the world.” - The world is in darkness and infected with evil.
Light is offensive to darkness !
Salt is offensive to infection !
Christians are automatically offensive to the darkness of evil around us, if we are indeed shining Jesus’ Light !
Christians are automatically offensive to the infection of evil around us, if we are indeed applying Jesus’ Salt !
Jesus followers must be so involved in shining His Light in the darkness around us, and applying His Salt to the infection around us, that we get a rise out of the other side.
Yes, a serious ‘rise’, hatred.
Jesus again,
“The one who kills you will think he is doing God (‘god’) service.”
Are you signed uo to follow Jesus ?
Do you really want to stay signed up to follow Jesus ?
“From that time on many of His disciples turned back and no longer walked with Him.”
