AND MAMA TOO.

When I was very young, on the way home from church I shared the Bible verse I learned in Sunday School, “We love Him because He first loved us.”

When I was in my 20’s, teaching fourth graders in a Christian school 1500 miles away, I heard my dad say numerous times on the phone, “I’m so glad you’re telling those little lambs about Jesus.”

Someday I’ll sing with Mom and Dad,

“I love you, Lord, and I lift my voice

.       To worship You.  Oh my soul, rejoice.

Take joy, my King [My Heavenly Daddy], in what you hear;

.       May it be a sweet, sweet sound in Your ear.”

MONEY VISION – – – DO YOU NEED GLASSES?

If you have money, you will look at life through the lens of money.

If you do not have money, you may still look at life through the lens of money.

The lens of money leaves you miserable.

How about this advice:

“Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, Who gives us richly all things to enjoy;

That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to give, willing to share;

Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.”

“Those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and damnation.”

“Having food and clothing, with these let us be content.”

“Godliness with contentment is great gain.”

GET IN “TOUCH” ON-LINE

There are a few of us who still do not use all the options for “connecting” on the internet.

There are even fewer who see major human problems developing with communication technology.

‘Get in touch on line’ is an oxymoron to me, and yet many people accept using the system to the hilt.

The meaning of ‘communication’ has changed.  The meaning of ‘friend’ has changed.  The meaning of ‘like’ has changed.  The meaning of ‘connecting’ has changed.

A vital, close, human relationship requires communication, but communication does not make a relationship.  We must get closer than just communication.  We need eye contact and touch to complete a relationship.

The closest human relationship makes the point most dramatically.

Can on-line marriage counseling be enough?

Can on-line marriage rebuilding be complete?

On-line marriage intimacy is absurd.

 

Getting in touch on-line has severely watered down many words that are essential to close, meaningful, human relationships.  And these simple words that expressed and protected fresh, fragile, deep connections from heart to heart, have not been replaced, leaving unexpressed vast voids in the hearts of many.

We know people who don’t understand this or don’t care, and so we substitute more and more time punching keys and “communicating” in ways that actually keep us farther apart.

Relationships? – – – too busy to build the real thing, in person, with time, and touch.

Think about it.  Today, try to build a real relationship with a real person, in real life, with a real face, with a real touch showing the real meaning of like, with a real hug showing the real meaning of friend, communicating and connecting———-outside of technology.

What a difference you could make!

CRITICIZE A DICTATOR – – – THEN WHAT?

Politicians, talk show hosts, conservative leaders, writers—many criticize (with clear documentation) the encroaching tyranny of the dictator in Washington.

Then what?

I see a universal unspoken assumption that if we sufficiently document our criticism and inform others, then somehow the threat will go away.

Then what?

Historical fact (not my opinion):  If a rising dictator is not stopped by force (not just criticism), critics will be eliminated first, and then freedom for everyone will be eliminated.

 

Sobering advice:  Everyone (including myself) who voices criticism of the regime destroying America, must “pledge our lives, our fortunes, and our sacred honor” to declare our independence again.

It will cost a lot more than air time and writing time to win back our freedom.

2)  Can you decide where to put your heart?

3)  Can your money and your heart be in different places?

4)  Can your money be in two different places?

5)  Can your heart be in two different places?

6)  What exactly directs your money budget?

7)  What exactly directs your heart budget?

8)  Can you tell your money to go one place—and tell your heart to go another place?

9)  Can your money tell your heart where to go?

10)  Can your heart tell your money where to go?

11)  Which of the last two questions is more likely to happen?

If you do not follow Jesus’ teaching, it is simple to answer the money/heart questions.  You put both (money and heart) into the most you can accumulate in this life, to live and retire as comfortably as you can.  And there is plenty of advice and opportunity for you to do that successfully.

End of story—End of discussion—End of issue—for you—for now.

HONEST ABE – – – “HONEST” BHOB*

SAME—

Abraham Lincoln and BHOB* were both true to their character inside, and acted accordingly.

DIFFERENT—

Abraham Lincoln and BHOB* could not be more opposite in their character inside, and it showed.

Abraham Lincoln reached out with compassion to help Americans on the other side, to unify the country after the conflict.  He didn’t get to fulfill his pledge.

BHOB* reaches out with 1.6 billions rounds of hollow point to “help” us Americans on the other side, to unify the country after the conflict.  He will fulfill his pledge to unify, because we will be eliminated.
