“Stop—being married to be happy.
Start—being married to be holy.”
Making a Difference in your Life, in the Parts that are for Keeps!
“Stop—being married to be happy.
Start—being married to be holy.”
“Come and let’s build the wall of Jerusalem, that we may no longer be a reproach.”—–Nehemiah 2:17
America will continue to be a reproach in the eyes of those who don’t appreciate America, until we build the wall of America.
It’s Biblical.
There is also a wall around the city of heaven, with gates—no entry without the credentials—only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s Book Of Life.
It works—the Bible and the Wall.
“Profession of faith without expression of faith means there is no possession of faith.”—–Robert Jeffres
A few days ago when I stopped at HEB in Belton, Texas, I noticed a young, courteous, black gentleman (employee) helping an older, white lady with her groceries at her car.
Their conversation showed that he graciously cared about her concerns—I couldn’t catch the details, but I paused to watch and listen, then went into the store.
I waited until he brought the electric grocery cart back, and gave him commendation—“If we duplicated what you just did, enough times, our country wouldn’t have any more problems.”
That may be oversimplifying things, but those few minutes of real, everyday life included so many ingredients that we need today.
I didn’t get his name, but he got affirmed and encouraged by me.
And I’m quite sure that what I saw is often observed in his way of life.
May his tribe increase.
And God bless his parents.
First they accepted gay members.
Then they accepted gay leaders.
Then they accepted transgender members.
Then they changed their name.
Then they accepted girl members.
Then they lost members—lots of members.
Then they lost money—lots of money.
WHO IS THIS?
It was the Boy Scouts of America.
“How come” are they in trouble?
As Todd Starnes said today,
“Financial bankruptcy is one thing;
Moral bankruptcy is quite another.”
Cause and effect—should be obvious (should be).
When you lose your bearings, your wheels come off.
When you’re self-employed and don’t have work, you cry the blues.
When you have work (and more and more work), you say, “Is this all there is to life?”
When Disneyland was opened, someone said it was too bad that Walt Disney did not live to see it.
To which Disney’s wife responded, “Oh, he saw it—that’s why it’s here.”
Leaves are for looks—looks successful—proves nothing.
Fruit is what counts—truly successful—proves faith is real.
Andrew Brunson’s wife was asked how they made it when he was in prison in Turkey for two years for his Christian faith.
We are “unworthy, but worth it to hang in there, hang on, know God’s will.”
If you have not seen Andrew Brunson’s visit with Donald Trump in the oval office, watch and see how it ended.
Just what we need in America today—Andrew laid hands on the President and prayed for him, and Trump welcomed that.
How do you learn how to preach?
Can anyone teach you?
Franklin Graham asked his father that question, to give him some pointers on preaching.
His answer:
“You learn to preach by preaching.”—–Billy Graham
