WASTED, WASTED, WASTED

WASTED SLAVERY ?
WASTED WILDERNESS ?
WASTED SILENCE ?

WASTED ON OUR OWN UNDERSTANDING !

400 years
Suffering in slavery

40 years
Wasted in Wilderness

400 years
Sitting in silence, again

40 days
Tempted “in the wilderness [wilderness ? again]”
For the very purpose—“led into the wilderness, to be tempted . . . “

We read God’s story with God’s people.
We can’t explain some commands, we can’t answer some questions—we can try, but we come up short.

Shall we expect anything different with God’s people today ?
We have become so accustomed to explanations for everything and solutions to fix everything we find uncomfortable—that we forget God is above it all and greater than our “understanding”.

WASTED TIME depending on our understanding.

Can we trust Him completely, in everything, even when we don’t understand ?

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not (DO NOT) lean on your own understanding.
In all (ALL) your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths.”

DADDY’S MANNA

“Moses gave you manna in the wilderness 40 years.”
Jesus called it Moses’ manna, knowing He provided it.

Daddy gave me pecan manna in the wilderness of Daddy Derangement Syndrome for 36 years so far.
Thank you, Daddy, for your faithfulness planting and grafting these trees 45 years ago, for me to pick up the manna one pecan at a time today.
Only a few this year—greater reflection than ever, greater peace amid failing years of my life, greater picturing Daddy here planting these trees two feet tall in perfectly straight rows, now one foot and more in diameter.

So, THANK YOU, JESUS, FOR SUSTAINING DADDY’S FAITHFULNESS RIGHT WHERE I STAND—I’M GETTING DADDY’S MANNA, YOUR MANNA , OFF THE GROUND.

Late fall this year, leaves still on pecan trees, can’t see to thrash, pecans falling, crows and squirrel stealing, so I had to come every day for a month to pick up pecans as they fall.

Instead of counting pecans by the pound, this year it’s counting by the pecan.

Personal reflections here in the pecan orchard—Daddy’s pecan orchard, from which he could never see the fruit.

Finally, peace, amid my wilderness of life.

New reflections and identifying with Daddy’s life, in God’s call on my life, to follow in Daddy’s footsteps.

Accepting unpopularity, like Daddy.

Positive results, rewards, are rare.

Alone, like Daddy.

“A man’s foes will be those of his own household.”

“Be faithful unto death, and I will give you a crown of life.”
Amen !
Indeed !

RIGHTS—INVENT, DECLARE, DEMAND

People get ideas, think of something they want, believe something new—INVENT a right !

People DECLARE their new right, and others join, “We have our right(s).”

When people believe in something strongly enough, they become fanatic and DEMAND their rights, over the rights of others.

Yet, one time in history some God-fearing people looked at man differently and set straight the truth about our rights and our relationships.

A – – It is obvious because it is true that we are not our own, to invent who we are and where we came from, to make any of us better or worse than others.

B – – Repeating the truth of the source of our existence doubles the truth of the source of our rights.
We don’t invent our rights, and nothing can take away our rights—because of the source of our rights.

C – – Our rights are clear, specific, indisputable, universal, all-encompassing, fixed, permanent, inalienable—not subject to erosion by subversion—not superceded by other people’s ideas or their claims to other ‘rights’.

D – – FIRST RIGHT
Life is a right for every person.
No one, No group, No government can take any life, NOT ANY LIFE, from anyone who has not, or is not attempting, to take someone’s life.

E – – SECOND RIGHT
Liberty is a right for every person.
Born free—liberty is the first hallmark of life, from the same source that gives us both life and liberty.
Live free—liberty drives us, inspires us, compels us, empowers us—to strive for our best, and pursue life and freedom for others.

F – – THIRD RIGHT
Striving for happiness gives reasons for living, and living free.

G – – MORE RIGHTS
Life, liberty, pursuit of happiness are highlights among others not listed.

Must now change ‘source’ in the lines above, to the Source, our Creator.
And that makes all the difference in the world !

Again,
One time in history some God-fearing people looked at man differently and set straight the truth about our rights and our relationships.

A – – It is obvious because it is true—“WE HOLD THESE TRUTHS TO BE SELF-EVIDENT”—that we are not our own, to invent who we are and where we came from—“CREATED”—, to make any of us better or worse than others—“CREATED EQUAL”—

B – – Repeating the truth of the source of our existence doubles the truth of the source of our rights—ENDOWED BY THEIR CREATOR”—
We don’t invent our rights, and nothing can take away our rights—because of the source of our rights—“BY THEIR CREATOR WITH CERTAIN . . . RIGHTS”—

C – – Our rights are clear, specific, indisputable, universal, all-encompassing, fixed, permanent, inalienable—not subject to erosion by subversion—not superceded by other people’s ideas or their claims to other ‘rights’—“INALIENABLE RIGHTS”—

D – – FIRST RIGHT—“LIFE”—
Life is a right for every person.
No one, No group, No government can take any life, NOT ANY LIFE, from anyone who has not, or is not attempting, to take someone’s life.

E – – SECOND RIGHT—LIBERTY”—
Liberty is a right for every person.
Born free—liberty is the first hallmark of life, from the same source that gives us both life and liberty.
Live free—liberty drives us, inspires us, compels us, empowers us—to strive for our best, and pursue life and freedom for others.

F – – THIRD RIGHT—“PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS”—
Striving for happiness gives reasons for living, and living free.

G – – MORE RIGHTS
Life, liberty, pursuit of happiness are highlights, with others not listed—“AMONG THESE [ARE LIFE, LIBERTY, AND THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS”]—

Absolutely amazing, the anointing by God, to pack such eternal truths into those few opening words of the United States Declaration of Independence.
