A WOMAN HAS A RIGHT ! ! !

Every woman (young or old) has every right to do with her body what she wants,* and what she will be satisfied to live with for the rest of her life.

This includes the right to not be pressured by individuals or current cultural campaigns that persuade her to do something she will regret, permanently.

This includes anything that alters and/or harms her body with long-term consequences.

1—A woman (young or older) has a right to not be sexually mutilated by anyone, even with her consent—just as surely as a woman has a right to not be sexually molested (raped) by anyone, even with her consent.

How ridiculous the parallel of rape by consent—yet sexual mutilation with the new fad of transgender, is actually more permanently harmful physically that rape, and the psychological consequences later loom very great, because it is a choice a woman does not have to make.

2—A woman (young or older) has a right to not kill her baby, either by her choice or by others’ pressure.

A woman has a right to not be physically harmed by anyone with the procedure (even when termed ‘successful’), which will have lifelong negative consequences, physical and psychological.

3—A woman (young, very young, or older) has every right to not be killed by anyone, ever, at any age of her life, for any reason whatsoever.

 A woman has that right that no other woman or man has a right to take from her—by decision (‘choice’), by procedure.

This includes the right to not be murdered weeks or months after she started living, before she has the power to make the decision.

The right to life without the choice to live ?

4—A man (young, very young, or older) has every right to not be killed by anyone, ever, at any age of his life, for any reason whatsoever.

A man has that right that no other man or woman has a right to take from him—by decision (‘choice’), by procedure.

This includes the right to not be murdered weeks or months after he started living, before he has the power to make the decision.

The right to life without the choice to live ?

THE RIGHT TO LIFE WITHOUT THE CHOICE TO LIVE ! ! !

That is inhuman, evil, unholy, unGodly, unAmerican, unfeminine, unwomanly, abominable—WITH CONSEQUENCES we’ve only begun to see.

+Just wait !

+Just watch !

+Just do everything you can to “save those being led away to slaughter.”

*Unless the woman or the man is a Christian.  Then this applies, “Don’t you know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, which is in you, which you have from God, and you are not your own?  Therefore, glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.”

MINDSET TO MAKE A SOLDIER

+Focused for conflict.

+Trained for combat.

+Hardened for battle.

+Ready for sacrifice.

+Covered by your buddies.

+Covering your buddies.

+Obedient to your captain.

+Dedicated to the cause.

+Complete commitment, not for glory or reward.

+Give all, spend all, leave all on the field of battle.

A soldier is not trained to negotiate.

A soldier is trained to kill the enemy and break his stuff.

What can Christians learn from a soldier ?

What can Christians learn from the Bible to make a soldier ?

– – –

America’s mindset about the military and war has changed, and along with it the mindset of the American church and American Christians has changed.

Americans are focused on avoiding conflict/war, believing we actually can avoid war, resulting in reducing our readiness for war, increasing our vulnerability to our enemies.

This is becoming obvious in America’s national security crisis.

This is not so obvious in America’s national spiritual crisis—with the church in a seriously weakened state.

For decades now the church has focused on feeling good and sounding positive and fitting in and following.

One way or another American Christians must learn how to be soldiers of the cross.

Biblical bootcamp may have felt foreign for some time now, but it will be familiar again soon.

Following Jesus is not easy – – –

“Fight the good fight of faith, and in the end receive the salvation of your souls.”

“Endure hardness as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.”

“We must through much tribulation enter the kingdom of heaven.”

“Finish out your salvation with fear and trembling.”

“You have not yet resisted to the point of shedding blood, striving against sin.”

“Remember those in prison for their faith, as though you are there with them.”

“Be faithful unto death, and I will give you a crown of life.”

WHO GETS THE GLORY ?

When anyone tells about making it through a difficult time, big or small—it matters who gets the credit.

When anyone tells about experiencing a wonderful time, big or small—it matters who gets the credit.

Some people are reluctant to mention God every time something works out, preferring to state a logical explanation—which may indeed have its place.

Some even say there are just things in life that we have to figure out and take care of ourselves.

They like to quote a verse that is not in the Bible, “God helps those who help themselves.”  In fact, that saying is contrary to the Bible, which teaches our total dependence on God.

If everything in our life, our very breath and heartbeat, exists and continues by God alone, then we do well to “acknowledge Him in all our ways,” and do so aloud whenever we have opportunity.

“Call upon Me . . .” How big an item or how little an item in our everyday life, matters enough to include God with conscious thought and verbal expression, with and without others hearing us?

As you can tell on this site, I like to wear out certain Bible verses—and definitely so in my own life.

“Call upon Me in the day of trouble, and I will deliver you, and you will glorify Me.”

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding;

In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths.”

God gives us understanding, that we can use to create and figure and solve things, just like He gives us money to buy and do things.

The tricky part is trusting God with all our heart, and not depending on our understanding.

How can you tell where your heart is, what you are trusting?

A good measure is what you say when you talk about everything you face day to day, and what you listen to, that others say.

Do you think you can say too much about God in everyday life?

Do you fear that others will think you say too much about God in everyday life?

Do you think about what God thinks of what you say about Him in everyday life?

What would please God more:

+Watching you figure things out yourself?

+Listening to you asking Him to help you in every situation (verbally, aloud and silently)?

What will work out better in the long run (and in the short run)—what you take credit for, or what you give God credit for?

What is your goal—success in getting stuff done, or success in a closer walk with Jesus day to day?

EDUCATION – – – SMALLER IS BETTER

About 25 years ago I was meeting with the school superintendent in the rural community of Riesel, Texas, to talk about their playground.

We had a well-rounded conversation about education—one of my top passions.

He quoted a professor from an east Texas university, shedding light on education focus:

“Give me your existing education budget, and let me build two-room schoolhouses all over the district, and education will improve.”

Amazing, there are variations of that concept gaining credence and momentum across the country–home school, co-ops, Christian schools, education pods, school choice.

“THE WIND DIED DOWN”

“The wind died down, and immediately there was a great calm.”

How long does it take for storms on water to die down?

Not immediately.

With the storms in our life—we cry out to Jesus to calm them.

He tells us, “Call upon Me in the day of trouble . . .”

+Sometimes He calms them quickly.

+Sometimes He calms them slowly.

He tells us, “. . . I will deliver you, . . .”

When He delivers us, we thank Him profusely.

He tells us, “. . . and you will glorify Me.”

“Call upon Me in the day of trouble,

I will deliver you,

And you will glorify Me.”

+Sometimes He calms us, instead.

“Sometimes He calms the storm,

Sometimes He calms His child.”

Some times He changes our circumstances.

All times His purpose is to change us.

To change us, He must first get our attention.

To get our attention, He can use anything—good, bad, ugly.

Then, when He has our attention, He asks, “Now, how long will I have your attention?”

You see, the only way God can change us—He must get our undivided attention, and keep our attention long enough to develop a relationship with us.

A changed life with Jesus is not just an event—it is an ongoing, daily lifestyle.

Practice walking with Jesus—then, when trouble comes, you won’t have to run to catch up.

INDULGENCES AND LAST RITES – – – WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE ?

Over 500 years ago the Catholic Church pressured the common people to buy pieces of paper that ‘guaranteed’ forgiveness for their dead relatives and deliverance from purgatory (hell).

The church (the pope) utilized this scheme to fund another cathedral.

Thank God for Martin Luther, a Catholic priest, for exposing this evil, and it stopped.

Or did it ?

– – –

The Catholic Church changed only just enough to avoid total, widespread revolution.

Their fundamental teachings and practices remain intact, even today.

– – –

Faithful Catholics go to mass blindly with mostly meaningless rituals, give lots of money to fund and maintain the elaborate superstructure, and receive the church’s word that they are right with God, from the cradle to the grave, literally.

– – –

Indulgences—from day one, continued today, without the piece of paper—called last rites.

Forgiveness for the dead, pronounced by authority of the Catholic Church, unbiblical, unabated.

– – –

What about the other churches of today?

How many churches give people false hope, false assurance of heaven, by the words spoken to them from the leader, and by words spoken over them from their first days in the cradle, to their last day, in the casket.

– – –

Every baby celebration in the church and every funeral in the church must be an opportunity to tell everyone present of their need for forgiveness from Jesus—the only way for assurance of heaven.

MORE TERRIFYING THAN . . . A LIFE-THREATENING STORM

Jesus’ disciples lost all faith in survival and thought they were going to drown in a sudden storm on the Sea of Gallilee.

Waves were getting in the boat.

Seasoned fishermen can die just like anyone else, and they were scared to death.

– – –

Oh, but Jesus was with them, so they should not have been afraid.

Yes, just like us—we know Jesus is with us, but we still lose it when the waves come overboard.

– – –

But Jesus was asleep, and waking Him meant admitting they were at their wits end, embarrassing.

And, just like us—sometimes it feels like Jesus may as well be sleeping in our storm-tossed boat, and in our attempted self-sufficiency we delay calling out to Him.

– – –

Did Jesus save the disciples?

Yes, that day he saved their lives.

He had a mission for them.

That mission included opposition that threatened their very lives—not by a storm on water, but at the hands of men who hated their message that Jesus is the way, the only way.

And Jesus did not save them then.

They gave their lives, and Jesus gave them perfect LIFE in heaven—the ultimate “Peace be still, and the waves and wind died down, and suddenly there was a great calm.”

When we “Call on Him in the day of our trouble”—whether right away or delayed—“He will deliver us, and we will glorify Him.”

Sometimes (but not always) we get to glorify Him for deliverance here.

Always, forever, we get to glorify Him in heaven, in the presence of Jesus (and those same disciples that were so scared, more than once).

Oh, the title above—

What really terrified the disciples more than the storm was the realization when Jesus instantly made the wind and waves obey.

WHO IS THIS REALLY, IN OUR BOAT, that we are following?

We left everything.

Where is He taking us?

Little did they know, yet, but it was starting to sink in.

May it be so for you and me today.

You fearful saints, fresh courage take;

The storms you so much dread

Are filled with mercy and shall break

In blessings on your head.

PIONEERS AND US (10)

Did the pioneers have something inside, that we don’t have today?

Yes, several things—one at a time here.

– – –

Pioneers had a consistent set of values and beliefs that they were bound and determined to pass on to the next generation, intact.

It was a package—with God, family, work, the 3R’s, right and wrong, Bible, morality—known and universally sanctioned in the home and in the community.

It is referred to as ‘the old school.’

Today we scarcely even know what that package is, to pass on, much less how to pass it on.

Question before us, not faced by pioneers:

What will happen when the few people who can remember the old school are gone?
