PLAYING IT SAFE

In situations of sexual temptation, there may be “safety in Numbers”.

But there is “greater safety in Exodus”.

JUNE 6, 1944 – – – JUNE 6, 2024

June 6, 1944
Hours before the Normandy invasion in World War II, President Franklin Roosevelt led the nation in heartfelt prayer for all the troops, and depending on God for the success of the mission to destroy the evil of Nazism.

June 6, 2024
Now, eighty years later, Joe Biden, without God, is orchestrating the invasion of the United States a thousand times greater, organized to destroy this country, because he believes America is evil.
And, unbelievably, without opposition of enemy fire.

OUR SUCCESS

I typed the above title in the search bar, and what a boatload to read and ponder, much of it after many years.

DADDY WAS RIGHT

Daddy was right when he was alive—regardless of agreement.
What Daddy said was right—regardless of agreement.
Daddy was right—now four decades after he’s gone.

Daddy was vindicated—
+ Insurance made medical costs go out of sight.
+ Insurance is the most complained about industry in the country, riddled with greed and corruption.
+ The church follows the world financially, and lost the difference of salt and light.
+ Pensions, retirement stash, especially in the church, takes enormous amounts of money from kingdom work/missions to make retirements better, cushy for preachers.
Don’t tell me they don’t think about it during their whole ministry.

Just like something is wrong when people say,
“We deserve every dollar we can get from our inheritance.”

So also, something is wrong when people say,
“I deserve every dollar I can get from my retirement package.”

TRINITY – – – EXPLAIN IT, OR DEFEND IT, OR . . .

Trinity—
Explain it
or
Defend it
or
Skip it—just preach and teach what the Bible says about God.

Is it really not enough what the Bible says about the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit ?
Do we really have to add man-made terms and words we hopelessly fail to explain ?
– – –
A breath of fresh air
or
Hopelessly bogged down defending what’s not even in the Bible.

SKIM THE SCUM

Selected verses from Isaiah chapter one, describing Israel three thousand years ago, and describing America today:

“Alas, sinful nation,

A people laden with iniquity,

A brood of evildoers,

They have forsaken the Lord,

They have provoked to anger

The Holy One,

They have turned away backward.”

— Results, then and now, and soon:

“Your country is desolate,

Your cities are burned with fire;

Strangers devour your land in your presence;

And it is desolate, as overthrown by strangers.”

— Is there hope ? Will there be hope ?

“Unless the Lord of hosts

Had left to us a very small remnant,

We would have become like Sodom,

We would have been made like Gomorrah.”

— Is there enough to make a difference ?

“How the faithful city has become a harlot!

It was full of justice;

Righteousness lodged in it,

But now murderers.

Your silver has become dross,

Your wine mixed with water.

Your princes are rebellious,

And companions of thieves;

Everyone loves bribes,

And follows after rewards.”

— Now, what ? What does God say ? What does God do ?

“Therefore the Lord says,

The Lord of hosts, the Mighty One of Israel,

‘Ah, I will rid Myself of My adversaries,

And take vengeance on My enemies.

I will turn My hand against you,

And thoroughly purge away your dross,

And take away all your alloy.

I will restore your judges as at the first,

And your counselors as at the beginning.

Afterward you shall be called the city of righteousness, the faithful city.’ “

— We were there once.
Can we be there again ?
Indeed, all things are possible, with God, but . . .
BUT not without the underlined parts above.

Many in this country are adversaries of God, and have made themselves His enemies.
“Vengeance is Mine—I will repay”, says the Lord.

“Unless” in the verse above—If it weren’t for the remnant in America, we would have been ‘nuked’ by God already.
But our national harlotry, injustice, unrighteousness, murder, rebellion, bribes, continue to grow unchecked.

Even our “cities burned with fire, strangers devouring our land right before our eyes, desolation, overthrown by strangers”—some already happening, some imminent !—even all this is not enough to turn this country around, turn us back to God.

GOD WILL DO WHAT HE HAS TO DO, for His Name, because He is God ! ! ! ! !
++ He will turn His hand against us.
America is eligible and overdue for the angry judgment of God, against us.
++ He will purge away our dross.
It takes a lot of heat to do that, and we will be in the fire.
++ He will take away all our alloy.
God will forcefully remove everything we hold so dear, that He reveals is not real.
++ Sounds painful—indeed !
That is the only way He can restore good “judges” and “righteousness” and “faithfulness” to our cities.
That is God’s RIGHTEOUS RESET.
Will we accept it, endure it, come through it ?

I’VE GOT A JOB – I’VE GOT A FAMILY – I CAN’T

This is a frustrated list of quotations, rationale, explanations, reasons we’re stuck in this mess without leadership out of it.

Why can’t somebody step forward and organize us and tell us what to do to actually make a difference and stop the evil and the evil people enveloping this country ?

Workers, preachers, teachers, parents, reporters, politicians, Target managers, small businessmen, big business leaders, Christians, patriots, conservatives, second amendment believers, ministry leaders, motivators, people with a platform and audience, revolutionaries with passion for freedom—IS THERE NO ONE TO ‘RALLY THE TROOPS’, REV UP THE RESISTANCE, READY TO SACRIFICE AND INSPIRE OTHERS ?

The signers of the Declaration of Independence “pledged their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor” to bring that declaration to reality—they personally made good on their pledge—and it cost them dearly !
Reclaiming our independence, our very freedom, will cost us no less today.

More quotes:
No violence.
I can’t afford to lose my job.
I can’t take the risk.
I can’t afford lost reputation.
I can’t say anything.
I can’t do anything.
What good will it do if I’m in jail, or dead.
Only diplomatic channels.
Only democratic processes.
Only legal means.
Only peaceful protests.
Somebody else should stick their neck out.
I’m not supposed to hurt anyone.
– – –
And the evil people laugh, unrestrained, with free reign to accomplish the rest of their demonic agenda for America.
– – –
George Washington’s words actually apply the second amendment, and we just can’t comprehend it applied to our lives now,
“Freedom will look easy when we don’t have to die to get it.”

Have we learned from history a century ago ?
“First they came for the Communists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Communist

Then they came for the Socialists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Socialist

Then they came for the trade unionists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a trade unionist

Then they came for the Jews
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Jew

Then they came for the Catholics
And I did not speak out
Because I was Protestant

Then they came for me
And there was no one left
To speak out for me”

GENDER AFFIRMING DESTRUCTION

We can stand up and speak up against this horror of child abuse now, or watch our children and our country be destroyed.

And that destruction is the goal—heart and center—of those behind this evil tsunami blindsiding America.

Start now, saying something against this, every chance you get, to anyone.

REUNIONS IN HEAVEN

I wonder what it was like when David and Uriah met again, in heaven.
(Inspired by Jeff Shreve this morning, on afr)

King David directly arranged the murder of his trusted soldier, Uriah, to ‘cover up’ his sin of sleeping with Uriah’s wife.
Uriah never knew what happened—until he got to heaven ?
Hmmm.
Did God explain it to Uriah ?
Or, did God wait till David got to heaven, and let him explain ?
Or, does God erase our memories of sin when we get to heaven, like He erases the record of our sin now, when we repent ?
(That last one sounds more Biblical.)

– – –

This would be a good example, a time to give a very serious caution, even a warning, about all the myriad of imaginations about heaven.
There are few topics that inspire speculation like thoughts of what we will do and think and remember when we get to heaven.
The one topic that exceeds creative ideas about heaven is invented ways to get there.

Whether we’re thinking about life in heaven or how to get there, there is only one source of facts, of truth, and it’s not from our mind.

From the fall of man, “every imagination of man’s heart is evil continually.”
People vigorously resist being told their ideas about heaven may be wrong—you can count on it.

If you want to know what you’re signing up for when you trust Jesus to forgive your sins and write your name in His heavenly Lamb’s Book of Life, then trust Him to tell you everything you need to know in His Book that we have here, the Bible.

If it’s in the Bible, you can take it to the bank, to heaven.

It it’s not in the Bible, you can know it’s someone’s imagination, even your own.
Don’t count on it.
Don’t put any weight on it.
Don’t put any faith in it.
Don’t depend on it, no matter how good it makes you feel.
Don’t take it in, not even a [harmless] bite.
“Eve saw that the tree was good food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and desirable to make one wise; she took of its fruit and ate.”

WHY DID GOD ?

Everybody asks God, “WHY ?”
WHY God does . . .
WHY God did . . .
WHY God doesn’t . . .

Many conclude why God cannot exist.

We want explanations.
We want God to explain.
And when God doesn’t explain—
—We use our intellect and reason to explain what doesn’t fit our feelings.

Some with very high intelligence use it to prove there is no God, and some to prove there is a god, and some to prove there is God.

Some with very high intelligence use logic and philosophy to show God’s existence, or not.

Some use that—good use of gifts.
Some use that and Bible verses—good use of the Sword of the Spirit.

– Win souls—that counts—lives changed.
– ‘Win’ debates—that feels good—? ? ? changed.

One conclusion—one universal, perennial fact of history—there always have been, always will be, deniers of God, haters of God, objectors of how God does things, rejecters of what God says.
Man can think anything he wants to think about God, and someday, certainly, find the end point of his thinking—
BUT, it will be forever true,

“My ways are higher than your ways; and My thoughts than your thoughts (declares the Lord).”
And that is true for everyone, including those who believe in God.
Even when we are ‘defending’ God, we must humbly set aside our intellect and everything else—another Bible verse coming . . .

“Not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called;  But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God has chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;  And base things of the world, and things which are despised, has God chosen, yes, and things which are not, to bring to nothing things that are:  That no flesh should glory in His presence.”

It’s always another Bible verse that keeps us straight, and brings us back from wandering on our own . . .
If the Bible is not the heart and center of, the foundation of, and saturating all we say and do and reason, then we have nothing more to offer than anyone else, in the world of ideas.

“All the Athenians and the foreigners who lived there spent their time doing nothing but talking about and listening to the latest ideas.”
Paul engaged them, starting with their interest in new ideas and their ‘unknown god’ (which he was delighted to introduce to them) . . . to get their attention, on their turf, but then not on their terms.

The power of intellect engages, may even win debates.
BUT, always the Power of the Word of God wins hearts for His Kingdom, for heaven.

The verse for direction here,
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths.”

– – –

A word of caution to the super-intellectuals on ‘God’s Side’:
+ Don’t let your focus, zeal for apologetics, become an end in itself.
Look closely how you advertise and talk about your conferences and your books and your people.
+ Slow down, stop occasionally, take a deep breath of fresh humility—and let it be known to all, first to yourself, and then to others, that power comes from God alone—
—power to win a debate, perhaps
—power to win a soul, yes
—all power from God, all glory to God, not us.
+ While you reach out to the intellectuals, remember the rest of your ‘audience’ that may struggle to keep up with your speed, and wonder where you got these principles you build on so rapidly.
+ These folks may be left wondering if they must have your level of understanding before a Bible verse can apply to their life.
+ AND, every Christian presentation should include the simple Gospel message, because there may be some listener ready to receive Jesus.
