PASSION AND PERSPECTIVE

We must not let the passion of our personal political heritage distort our spiritual perspective and jeopardize the eternal well-being of our souls.

NAME BRAND RELIGION

Denominations within Christianity create a danger for people to worship their church more than God.

Here is one example, and it could apply to others.

+++Lutherans have a struggle completely accepting Non-Lutheran Christians.  Incompatible with many of their written doctrine statements.

+++Lutherans absolutely don’t know what to do with Ex-Lutheran Christians.  Intolerable to think something is missing in their tightly held system.

+++Lutherans totally lose it and simply can’t relate to Ex-Lutheran Christian Relatives.  Inconceivable that such an impossible happens.

You see, we all want to think we have arrived at answers to everything.  So from day one, man has created spiritual systems to give people security, but often with help from the enemy of our souls.

If we have Jesus, we have all the answers we need.  When we add to that with man-made structures, we start to lose the real thing.  Then the religious system gets big and strong, and has to control and question anyone who veers from it.  Often that is not pretty.

ARE WE IN CHARGE?

When we are well, with money in the bank, we think we are in charge.

When we are sick, and broke, we realize we are not in charge.

IF GOD WAS FAIR . . .

There are two parts to this issue, but first raise the more significant question, “Why do you ask?”

Most people have issues with God because they don’t want to be accountable to Him.  We know we will fail the accountability test, so we grasp for anything that may help distract from that reality.

If God was fair,

One—You and I would be toast.  The ten commandments provide plenty to explain the bad in the world, and the bad inside every one of us.

0r,

Tw0—Someone would be toasted for us.  And that is what happened.  We can all comprehend someone doing us a favor, giving us a gift, paying a debt for us.  But the big one—someone dying for us so we don’t have to die and go to hell—most people want to avoid that.  And yet it is the best deal in all of history, and forever.

Maybe God is not fair—making his own son die so we can go to heaven.  But that’s what He did.  He told us all about it in the Bible.  It’s a free ticket out of the worst place to the best place to go after we die.

The catch—He just expects to be in charge of  our entire life from then on.  Not only the best deal—the only deal.

FEELING BETTER

Working on something I can do makes me feel better than talking about something I can’t do.

AMERICANS FIRST – – – CHRISTIANS SECOND

Some Christians in America are still somewhat “vexed with the filthy conversation of Sodom,” like righteous Lot, before God turned his home town and his home to ashes.

But Christians in America sure do like the money—the whole financial system—the good life America offers.

Lot first “pitched his tent toward Sodom,” by choice.  He decided to participate in part by moving to the ungodly city.

When it finally came time for God to toast the town, in spite of Abraham’s prayers in behalf of the righteous minority, it was too much to ask Lot’s wife to walk away without looking back.

Fact is, Christians in America are very unlikely to walk away from all that has their heart strings tied up here because their purse strings are tied up here.

Fact is, Christians in America can make money here like never before, and they have to stick with it to reap the lifelong reward—the ultimate benefit of retirement.

For Christians in America, what does “get out of Sodom” mean today, before she goes up in smoke?

If you look to the mainstream of what is called Christianity in America today, you will sincerely believe you can have both—God’s favor and a favorable portfolio of treasure laid up here.

I suppose there is a remnant of God’s people in America today that “have not bowed the knee to Baal,” like there was in Elijah’s day, when faithfulness to God appeared slim to none.

If you really want to follow the narrow way of Jesus’ call, seek out Christians who have literally laid up their treasures in heaven, and follow their example, now.

If you can’t find Christians who have their treasures laid up in heaven, start doing so now yourself, so you can be someone for others to follow.

If you wonder what that means specifically, pray and ask this question about everything concerning your money and your heart, “Will it go up in smoke?”

“AIN’T SEEN NOTHIN’ YET”

“Call to Me, and I will show you great and mighty things which you do not know.”

“. . . Get out of your country, and from your family, and from your father’s house, unto a land that I will show you . . . ”

But I don’t know where I’m going .

Good.  That means you will have to trust Me.

“Fear not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord . . . The Lord shall fight for you, and you shall hold your peace . . . speak to the children of Israel, that they go forward . . .”

Israel was scared out of their wits by the Egyptian army.

The next morning all the Egyptians were dead, and Israel was safe.

“This evening you will eat meat, and in the morning you will be filled with bread.”

Quail for meat.  Manna for bread.  For forty years.  Never before.  Never after.

A testimony ever since.

“The Holy Spirit will teach you everything, and bring to your memory whatever I have commanded you.”

And that is enough.

“. . . I will show him (Paul) how great things he must suffer for my name’s sake.”

“We must through much tribulation enter the kingdom of God.” —–Paul

Just one of many oxymorons that don’t make sense until we experience them.

“Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God has prepared for them that love Him.

But God has revealed them unto us by His Spirit; for the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God.”

Indeed, we have not seen anything yet.

WHO DO YOU TRUST WHEN . . . ?

WHO DO YOU TRUST WHEN EVERYTHING IS GOING – – – RIGHT?

When a prominent Christian leader from America visited Christians in China, they gave him a surprising perspective.

“The test of our faith here in China is persecution.  The test of your faith in America is your prosperity.”

We’ve heard that it’s easy to trust God when everything is going right, and harder when things seem to be going wrong.

Actually, the opposite is true.  The hardest time to trust God is during the good times, because then it is easiest to forget God.

So, who do we trust when everything is going right?  Ourselves.

American Christians will soon experience what the rest of the world knows—what it costs to be a Christian.

CHEMICAL WARFARE BY BHOB*

AMERICA VS BHOB* is not a court case.

We are at war, and the sooner we declare it and treat it as war, the greater our chances of winning the war and keeping our freedom.

How long can we refrain from calling it like it is, and responding to it like it is.

Hitler ran roughshod all over Europe before we saw the threat to us and declared war—almost too late.

BHOB* has run roughshod all over America for five and a half years now, and we still don’t fully see the threat.  I say that because we haven’t yet declared war to stop him.  All we’ve done so far is document his aggression.

BHOB’s* blitzkrieg is nonstop, unbelievable, unstoppable.

Only a a force greater that BHOB*, only a willpower greater than BHOB*, only an immediate and all-out declaration of war to stop BHOB*, only a willingness to sacrifice, will give any of us a chance to stay free.

When do people get involved in support of a war?  When they see it will affect their lives if they don’t.

When does a individual get involved fighting in a war?  When he sees it getting close to his home.

When does passion drive anyone to win a war at all cost?  When he sees his family get hurt or killed.

I don’t know how far along we are in the above sequence—I only know we are farther than we think.

This article is prompted by BHOB’s* despicable invasion of our country with disease-laden children who were secretly housed less than fifteen miles from my home.  When he threatened into silence the medical personnel involved, I say once again, “What more evidence do we need?”

We can no longer point a finger at the terrible things evil leaders do to their people around the world.  We just caught up with them.  We are only waiting for the body counts to start adding up.

BHOB* is willing—and ready—to do anything to any of us that resist.  Dissenters disappear—first mysteriously—then obviously—then wholesale.

*Barack Hussein OBama—Say BHHHOB aloud and it sounds like the warning for Christians in the 2008 election: “Beware of sheep’s clothing.”

HOW LONG CAN YOU TREAD (BOILING) WATER

A friend sent me a message this morning, “The water is about to boil.”

I responded with,  “It’s not a good day to be a frog in the pot.”

We may not escape the impact of imminent judgment on America.

But we can escape the judgment in our personal lives from God, if we are obeying Him.

The decades, and centuries, of compatibility between America and Christianity have come to an end.

America was clearly founded, blessed, defended, and maintained as a Christian nation.  Any reading of our founding fathers and our founding documents shows this beyond the shadow of any doubt.

IN GOD WE TRUSTED!

GOD BLESSED AMERICA!

America has clearly left our Biblical foundations, and we are about to experience the full brunt of history repeating—as it always does.

Revivals, called Great Awakenings, set the stage for founding this country and the Revolutionary War.  And likewise we were prepared, through Great Awakenings, before the Civil War and before the World Wars.

That is what we need again today.  It is the only thing that will save us now.  And it is missing.

So there is little hope for America as a country.

But there is hope for individual Christians, if we have not remained in the “comfortable” pot as it heated up over the last several decades.

So what is the pot that has been heating up and is about to boil, that Christians were supposed jump out of before it came to this?

Well, no one is preaching it even now, but my dad did, and I will.

American Christians have participated and bought into the financial culture of insurance and retirement, depending on the world’s system (including the government) to take care of us—if we pay enough.  It is laying up treasures on earth, clearly forbidden by Jesus, but defended by every known preacher and Christian leader.

Oh, I know it’s been working—until now.  In 2008 there was a momentary questioning of money stashed away that became eligible for Jesus’ words about moth and rust corrupting and thieves breaking in and stealing.

Then everyone regrouped and got advice to invest smarter, and back to business as usual.

I find an interesting dichotomy when advisers say it’s going to crash, and simultaneously tell us where to put money for guaranteed income five, ten, twenty years from now.

I believe misplaced money by Christians, and the lack of repentance over this, is at the heart and center of the well-known Bible verse requirements for healing America.

“If My people, who are called by My Name, will humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and TURN FROM THEIR WICKED WAYS, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and heal their land.”

Sadly, there is not anyone, even now, calling for repentance over this.  And so, therein, there is no hope for America.

I pray God will honor this one voice crying out to American Christians.  Soon, my dad’s message will be vindicated, and Jesus’ words will ring true once again.

Will it be too late for America?

Will it be too late for American Christians?
