SMOOTH SAILING

In the Christian life, smooth sailing is not always a confirmation.
It is more often a caution, a warning, a red flag.
Problem is, the caution usually goes unheeded.
Smooth sailing carries more weight than any suggestion that there is something not good about good times.
There is a lot that I could say to make the point, from The Book, but here I will just summarize with one comment that is not so smooth.
If the enemy of your soul has not attacked you lately, perhaps it is because he doesn’t need to.
EMPTY WHEN FULL—(trash, garbage, good)

I wrote the above on the lid of a wastebasket, for obvious reasons.
Fact is, overflowing trash cans are a pet peeve of mine (including when it’s my own).
But as I read that label a number of times, I thought of multiple meanings and valid applications for life.
Trash belongs somewhere—in the trash.
If we do not provide a place for trash, it creates a problem, a mess, and soon interferes with our life.
Trash cans, waste baskets, “circular files,” garbage cans, dumpsters, garbage trucks, landfills; these give a designated place to put stuff that we should not save.
If these “containers” are not emptied when they get full (or covered as landfills), the trash spills over into our lives again, or the garbage smell interferes with our quality of life.
Unwanted trash and smelly garbage must obviously be dealt with regularly.
But consider the above title applied to good things in life.
If we are blessed and full, it is vital to not just stay that way.
For life’s greatest blessings, we must give as we have received.
“Unto whom much is given, much will be required.”
Unfortunately, most of the time the more we get, the more we want to get, and the more we try to get. We build bigger houses and bigger storage buildings.
What if we emptied ourselves when full of many good things, and emptied our homes, and gave away everything we don’t need? Then we could even use some of the empty space for someone who doesn’t have a home.
And one more thought.
What if we think we are filled with all the good in the world and don’t need anything, especially advice from the previous paragraph?
We all need to first empty ourselves of everything we think is so good, so we can be filled with the good that comes from God, which we desperately need.

The militant gay agenda—
IT IS SAD
1)
It is sad for many gay people because it hurts them—their lifestyle is not satisfying because it is not natural.
They are not content with their relationships, so many have very high numbers of partners.
Their higher than average suicide rates reveal desperately unfulfilled lives.
Their average reduced life span reveals the consequences of bad choices.
They never have enough to feel complete, and so they force acceptance of their lifestyle on everyone else, in attempts to fill the void in their own lives.
2)
It is sad for many gay people because it hurts children and families.
Children need a mother and a father.
Children need to just be children when they are young, and not faced with assorted sexuality to satisfy adults’ need to impose it on them prematurely.
The end goal and result of the militant gay agenda hurts all families.
3)
It is sad for many gay people and all people in the culture that embrace this because it destroys nations.
The militant gay agenda is on the wrong side of history.
Families with a mother and a father raising their children to likewise have families of their own are the absolute, essential building blocks of any stable society and nation.
This fact has been true in all human history, and it will not be changed now.
IT IS ABOUT POWER
1)
It is about power to push little children into a prison of confusion about what they are, preventing them from understanding who they were obviously created to be.
Under the banner of “gay rights”, the militant gay agenda robs the rights of children to grow up naturally.
The gay lifestyle is unsustainable, so they aggressively recruit, with force.
2)
It is about power to threaten schools, businesses, churches, Christians, and governments to change according to the militant gay agenda.
None of their demands, when met, are ever enough to satisfy the desperate need for more power.
The end result of this power grab—they will never reach their goal of happiness, of true gay.
The end result of this power grab—total devastation—for the gay people as well as the entire culture.
Most of the people caught up in pursuing this power do not realize that they are being used by others intent on destroying the very country that gives them freedom to pursue their “rights”.
3)
It is about power to shake their fist in the face of the Creator.
God created everything—the universe, man, woman, sex, family, government, church—and He wrote the rules.
We have the power—to choose—to break God’s laws.
God does not force anyone to follow His design for marriage, sex, and family.
So all the people supporting the militant gay agenda in any fashion, even by silence, have complete freedom to do so.
The final question—What is the end result of this power grab?
History clearly states that God had the final volley in the militant gay culture war of Sodom.
The Bible is a rock, and it says:
“Whoever falls on this rock will be broken; but the one it falls upon will be ground into powder.”

All three involve suffering.
Punishment—you suffer, and it’s your fault.

Application—using the above definition, ask yourself, “When was the last time I sacrificed for anything, or for anyone?”
GUARD DOGS – – – AND – – – FREEDOM

“Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty.”
Liberty was given to us.
Founding Fathers gave us liberty—they paid the price.
Soldiers and citizens preserved our liberty—they paid the price.
Liberty did not come by information alone.
Liberty did not come by the democratic process alone.
People who passionately believed in liberty more than life sacrificed everything for freedom, for us.
And just whose job is it to guard our freedom today?
That would be anyone with a memory, a passion, a family, a voice, a prayer, a family, an audience, a family, a gun, a Bible.
But sadly, today, the universal commitment to vigilance by every American has been replaced with dependence on others—dependence on the government—to keep us free.
And government is the very thing the founders knew was the greatest threat that would endanger our freedom.
So how are we doing in guarding our freedom from the encroaching government?
People with a voice and an audience sound the alarm—guardians of freedom of speech in the Constitution. Many are sounding the alarm loud and clear. But is it enough?
People with a pen and a passion sound the alarm—guardians of freedom of the press in the Constitution. Many are sounding the alarm loud and clear. But is it enough?
People with a pulpit and people in the pew sound the alarm—guardians of freedom of religion in the Constitution. Few are sounding the alarm loud and clear. It is not enough. In the Revolutionary War King George feared most the American Black Robed Regiment. No one fears the preachers in America today.
People with guns sound the alarm—guardians of freedom to bear arms in the Constitution. How many are sounding the alarm? Not enough. Many are very alarmed. The next paragraph reveals a huge loss in America of understanding the connection between winning our freedom and preserving our freedom.
TWO CENTURIES OF DEPENDING ON THE DEMOCRATIC PROCESS HAS MADE US FORGET THAT APPLYING THE SECOND AMENDMENT NOW IS NOT THE DEMOCRATIC PROCESS AS WE HAVE COME TO KNOW IT.
The second amendment was written so we can stop the government by force, when elections fail to do so.
The current government—too powerful, out of control, dictatorial, evil—now has huge stockpiles of ammunition specifically intended for killing Americans. Many Americans understand that our right to bear arms is our only defense against this bad government.
Still we are told from every angle to refrain from violence. But violence is coming to the streets of America. Will it be productive violence, or just a massacre? Will it be too late, then, even for the second amendment?
The Islamic terrorists are eager to do, in America, what they are doing without restraint around the world now. And BHOB* is doing everything he possibly can to enable and invite them. All that is left is for the signal to be given, and it will begin.
BHOB* can then hide behind blaming all on the ISIS attack, as he declares martial law and brings his dictatorship to full tyranny.
And now a word about guard dogs.
All the people with an audience (and including their audiences) who are diligently documenting all the bad things coming at us daily, and vigorously sounding alarms, are like guard dogs—well-trained to viciously confront the bad guys.
Problem is—the bad guys keep throwing delicious bones to the guard dogs, and occasionally juicy meat, and even something live, which they eagerly devour with loud “rrraarrr.”
The guard dogs are satisfied because they are occupied with frequent feeding frenzies, thinking they have done their job well.
They don’t realize they have just devoured the bait, while the bad guys laugh and ransack the place. The property is unprotected because the bad guys have locked the guard dogs in a fence of non-violent compliance with the rules.
How many true conservatives in the media and in Washington can honestly claim that we are stopping BHOB* and his Islamic terrorist friends?
I HEAR A LOT OF TALK BEATING UP THE BAIT, WHILE THE ENEMY HAS NOTHING TO FEAR.
