“I got so busy working for God, I failed to seek His face.”
—–on afr (did not catch the name)
Then, what happens ?
“Why are you cast down, O my soul,
And why so disquieted in me?
Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him,
The help of my countenance and my God.”
—–Psalm 43:5
“Why are you cast down, O my soul?
And why are you disquieted within me?
Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him
For the help of His countenance.”
—–Psalm 42:5
“Why are you cast down, O my soul?
And why are you disquieted within me?
Hope in God;
For I shall yet praise Him,
The help of my countenance and my God.”
—–Psalm 42:11
That’s right—three times repeated in two psalms, back to back.
It must be worth reading three times, taking to heart, remembering, and taking comfort when we are “cast down”, depressed—but not for long.
By the way, look for this pattern in many psalms—David and others start with unwholesome lament and unspiritual complaint, and by the end of the psalm end up praising and thanking the Lord.
From “Why, God ?” – to “Hallelujah, Praise God” – over and over.
