“BLESSINGS”—–LAURA STORY

“We pray for blessings
We pray for peace
Comfort for family, protection while we sleep
We pray for healing, for prosperity
We pray for Your mighty hand to ease our suffering

All the while, You hear each spoken need
Yet love us way too much to give us lesser things

Cause what if Your blessings come through raindrops?
What if Your healing comes through tears?
What if a thousand sleepless nights are what it takes to know You’re near?
What if trials of this life are Your mercies in disguise?

We pray for wisdom
Your voice to hear
We cry in anger when we cannot feel You near
We doubt your goodness, we doubt Your love
As if every promise from Your Word is not enough

All the while, You hear each desperate plea
And long that we’d have faith to believe

When friends betray us
When darkness seems to win
We know that pain reminds this heart
That this is not our home

Cause what if your blessings come through raindrops?
What if Your healing comes through tears?
What if a thousand sleepless nights are what it takes to know You’re near?

What if my greatest disappointments
Or the aching of this life
Is the revealing of a greater thirst this world can’t satisfy?

What if trials of this life
The rain, the storms, the hardest nights
Are Your mercies in disguise?”

“AREN’T CHRISTIANS SUPPOSED TO . . . ?

Some things people say about Christians—

“Aren’t Christians supposed to live happily ever after ?”
Otherwise, why would I want to join ?

“Aren’t Christians supposed to be successful ?”
I can think of a lot of better ways to be successful.

“Aren’t Christians supposed to have perfect marriages ?”
Statistics say it doesn’t help.

“Isn’t divorce a bad witness for Jesus and the church ?”
So you must be in the wrong.

“Aren’t Christians supposed to be passive and ‘turn the other cheek’ ?”
How can I respect, if you don’t fight for what you believe ?

“Isn’t Christianity just all about love.”
Lots of others claim the same.

Some things God says about Christians—

“the whole counsel of God”
“all scripture is given by inspiration of God—profitable for doctrine, reproof, instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be perfect, complete, for every good work”
“having food and clothing, be content”
“Godliness with contentment is great gain”
“if anyone comes after me, let him deny himself”
“all who live Godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution”
“you will be hated by all because of Me”
“the flesh wars against the spirit, and the spirit against the flesh—so you cannot do the things you want to do”
“set your affections on things above, not on things on the earth—things on earth are temporary, things in heaven are eternal”
“in this world you will have tribulation, but be of good cheer, for I have overcome the world”
“do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind”

And that is just a sample of the whole story, the rest of the story, straight from His Book.
You see, Christianity is simple—and not so simple !
Salvation is free, then it costs you everything, and it’s worth it.
Most people understand this in other parts of the world today.

“It will be worth it all, when we see Jesus.
One glimpse of His dear face, all sorrow will erase.
So bravely run the race, till we see Christ.”

Do you want answers, so you can understand Christianity, and know what it means if you decide to follow Jesus ?
Or do you want to confirm excuses, so you can maintain your reasons for saying no to Jesus ?

It’s your choice.

It’s my job to tell you about Jesus—and how you can tell Him you’re sorry for your sin—and how He will forgive you—and how the Bible will tell you how to live for Him.

I DIDN’T LOSE . . .

A soldier returning from war was welcomed home by his mother, waiting for him to come down the ramp.
She waited and waited—he was one of the last to leave the ship.
He was brought down the ramp in a wheelchair—she didn’t know.
She saw him from a distance, and reassured herself that at least he could still hug her.
When they met, she realized he had no arms.
She was devastated, and said,
“I had no idea you lost your legs.
I had no idea you lost your arms.
Why didn’t you tell me ?”

His answer,
“I wanted to tell you in person, and set the record straight.
I didn’t lose my legs.
I didn’t lose my arms.
I gave !”

Just a glimpse of what Jesus did for us.
“I lay down my life—to take it up again. No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This command I have received from My Father.”

“God loved the world so much, that He gave Jesus.”

THANK YOU !

“What shall I render, surrender unto the Lord for all his benefits toward me?
I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the Lord.
I will pay my vows unto the Lord now in the presence of all his people.”
