GIVE THE DEVIL A LITTLE OF AMERICA . . .

Give the devil a little finger of America, and he’ll take the whole hand—the whole country.

How true—if only we weren’t seeing it happen right in front of our eyes, and so quickly it’s almost unbelievable.

Evil—and the evil one—is never satisfied with a little finger of concession from an individual or a culture or a country.

Pause to ponder each item on this list, and realize how evil demands more and more, as soon as it gets a foothold. I could write multiple articles, but I’m asking you to review the progression yourself, inside each one.

Drugs

Pornography

Violence

Education

Lgbt

Government

Dictatorship

Godlessness—I will elaborate on this one, at the heart of what is happening in America.

First, we took God for granted because we got used to His blessings.

That’s all it took for the devil to get hold of a little finger of America.

Then everything on the above list started demanding more, and crowded God out.

Then we openly and publicly pushed God out, forcefully.

Evil is never satisfied with a little, and a little more—it claims everything, and demands acceptance, endorsement, and worship.

So, war is declared on everything Godly, any reminder of Him and His Word, most especially Christians.

The devil will not stop his grasping for more of America, until he has all of America, like China or North Korea.

And that is why this country looks more and more like China, with mandates and surveillance.

Can the evil takeover be stopped and turned around?

I don’t know.

But I do know that the remnant of Christians who pray, will pray through this darkening time.

We pray for a miracle, for God to move—and we pray for God to move us, to make us faithful, for others to see Jesus in us.

“Let your light so shine before people, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father in heaven.”

“Your Word is a lamp to my feet, and a light for my path.”

Light shines brighter in darkness—in this darkness.

A HOLIDAY FOR LOVE

I don’t base my views of life on movies, but rather on the Word of God.

A movie that I watched a few days ago with the above title had a quotable moment from the main character expressing his change of heart and life. It was very good—so I share it and recommend the movie.

“Sometimes you have to lose your way, to find your heart.”

“I spent so many years trying to be something other than who I was, that I kinda forgot myself. Maybe now I’ll get my memory back.”

“Maybe we can just start over, and get to know each other from scratch.”

TOP TWO MOTIVATORS FOR ALL TIME

One—To avoid the horrible torment of hell.

Two—To help someone else avoid the horrible torment of hell.

– – –

“. . . FOR ALL TIME”

The time is now.

Now is the only time we have to avoid hell.

Hell by default—Heaven by choice.

Heaven by Jesus only.

Don’t miss heaven for anything in this world, or anything in your mind.

GET COMFORTABLE ?

“Get comfortable with ambiguity.”—–Peter Rosenberger

Peter’s program (Sat. mornings at 7:00 central on afr) is Hope For The Family Caregiver. Caregiving is filled with lots of ambiguity, stuff you often can’t fix or tidy up. I’m using his quote because it can help us all think better about the many ambiguities in life.

Comfortable with ambiguity means we don’t always have to say something when a situation makes us uncomfortable.

Silence is often a better explanation for life’s dilemmas than saying something.

We don’t have to try one more verbal wrap-up for things we can’t fix.

– – –

“Be still, and know that I Am God.”

The first step for that, before God (and then for peace with ourselves and other people), is to stop talking, before we say something that does not help.

“REVIEWING THE DATA . . .” ?

Some years ago when the transition was implemented to no longer use CCA for pressure treating wood, I had a phone conversation with the top person at the EPA for communicating with the public about the change. It was very interesting. I already had decades of experience in my playground manufacturing business using pressure treated wood with the old chemical.

It is a fact that the exact same chemical, chromated copper arsenate, had been used successfully for nearly three-fourths of a century for pressure treating, without any harm to anyone.

So I asked the person ‘in the know’ at the EPA, “What is your record of anyone being harmed by CCA in pressure treated wood?”

The answer, “We haven’t finished reviewing the data.”

Wow! Seventy years of use everywhere, and frequent media stories scaring people to think the chemical in the wood is harmful, and yet the EPA had not one example to tell me about anyone getting hurt. Why? Because no one was ever harmed by wood treated with CCA.

And last week I heard another use of the same line from the person representing the CDC before the United States Supreme Court about ‘vaccine’ mandates. In an interview the next day, the official was asked to clarify about harmful effects of the covid ‘vaccine.’ Answer, “We haven’t finished reviewing the data.”

That, my fellow Americans, is the tip of the iceberg what the government is doing to hurt us and destroy this country.

WHAT’S THE BIBLE FOR ?

“God did not give us the Bible to increase our knowledge, but to change our lives.”—–D. L. Moody

WHAT DOES IT COST ?

“An offering counts only if it costs.”—–Jeff Shreve

SACRIFICE COSTS – – – HOW MUCH ?

Can a millionaire sacrifice—and still be a millionaire?

Can I sacrifice—and still keep my standard of living?

MILLIONS OF YEARS – – – TRILLIONS OF DOLLARS

Think about this—which is easier to comprehend:

Millions of Years?

Trillions of Dollars?

Actually, I think it is much easier, even logical to imagine a trillion dollars, rather than trying to consider a million years, or a billion years as sometimes proposed.

You see, we all relate to a dollar, even a thousand dollars, whether we have it or not.

You likely know someone who makes a hundred thousand dollars a year.

In ten years that’s a million dollars.

I know several people who are millionaires—I’m not one of them, but I can relate to them as real people.

The leap to a billion dollars stretches us—but consider that adding millions together a thousand times gives a billion—like a thousand millionaires—comprehensible.

And we know of a number of billionaires in the world—even if we just hear about them in the news, we get it that they’re for real.

Now about a trillion dollars—that is adding billions together a thousand times—like a thousand billionaires—for real only at the national level.

Trillions of dollars of net worth in an entire country is possible.

Trillions of dollars of national debt seems absurd, but nevertheless it is also real—even if it is a real disaster.

– – –

What about a million years—can we ever imagine such a thing, such an idea?

Do you know that historically, the proposal of millions of years to explain the appearance of everything we see around us, is a recent invention.

In a desperate effort to push evolution, which has no scientific basis or evidence, this became the magic bullet for everything unexplainable.

Some people thought they could bypass the absence of facts with the introduction of many, many, many years—and then many more years—to claim anything is possible to make life as we know it on earth and in the entire universe—if you just insert enough time.

What is really beyond my comprehension, besides the incomprehensibility of millions of years, is the persistent presentation as fact, and the near universal acceptance as fact, of evolution. (I’ll save my bottom line on that thought till the end.)

Here is my favorite observation and reasoning about time that makes sense and stands up to facts and logic and common sense.

As I observed for thirty years the erosion on Payne Branch Creek that flows through my property, I could picture going back in time three hundred years.

So, subtracting ten times the amount of erosion that I observed myself, what could the creek have looked like then? Different, yes, but not necessarily too dramatically different.

Then I pictured ten times that amount of change over three thousand years.

Well, there is evidence that the creek had changed its course from time to time (as all creeks and rivers do), because there was a gravel pit about eighty yards away—gravel formed by tumbling rocks in running water.

I dug another gravel pit about a quarter mile upstream, and removed thousands of yards of gravel, some not so rounded from less tumbling before the creek changed course back then. And I found a couple dozen items of greater interest eight to twelve feet down, before I hit solid rock. These items go back well over four thousand years, when they were suddenly buried and preserved, for me to find now, and make the historical connection—sea urchin fossils—from the flood of Noah’s day.

– – –

One more personal note concerning the comprehension of time and the age of the earth.

First of all, history goes back about six thousand years. We have evidence consistent with that fact. Man left written records and created artifacts that we uncover today, and the ground itself is filled with a treasure of stuff to dig up and consistently verify history. Anything before six thousand years ago is simply speculation and guessing.

Now the personal note—Daddy was born in 1905 and lived 79 years. He would be 117 years old now. I was born in 1950, and I’m 71 years old. Those numbers help me simplify and comprehend the age of the earth.

If you consider a life of 80 years, it would only take 75 lifespans to reach back to the beginning of history—and the creation of the world, by the Creator. I can imagine that.

– – –

I promised my bottom line about the unreasonable push and acceptance of evolution. Evolution was invented and persists, to provide a system to avoid accountability to God and to His Word, the Bible.

If you want to have some scientific and historical fun, get a group of kids (10-15 years old) with calculators and Bibles and pen and paper, and let them figure the age of the earth. The Bible gives a complete list, by name, of all generations from Adam to Jesus. For many people, their ages are given when their child was born. For the rest, a reasonable average can be used.

GOD’S PEOPLE LIVING IN SODOM

Lot, by choice, pitched his tent ‘toward Sodom,’ and then moved ‘into’ Sodom.

Sodom moved into Lot.

He said nothing about the wickedness in Sodom.

He made no difference in Sodom.

Lot’s uncle Abraham prayed for Sodom, to spare judgment for the sake of the few faithful to God—maybe ten people?

Ten not found—end of Sodom.

End of Lot’s wife.

Disaster for Lot and his daughters, after they escaped with their lives.

– – –

Christians, by choice, pitched their tents toward the culture and economics of America.

Then Christians moved totally into the money system of America, with all the things it had to offer, like never before in history.

The money system of America moved into the Christians.

The Christians said nothing to stop the major evil steps of encroachment taking over America.

The Christians made no difference in America.

A remnant prays for America to be saved, if there will be enough Americans faithful to God.

How many does it take?

Ten not found in Sodom.

– – –

The greater question—

Can the remnant repent?

The remnant is supposed to be the humble elite, the special forces following Jesus, even when it is not easy or popular. But the comfortable allurements in America are simply too much to sacrifice, and most Christians cannot speak up against the evils that abound everywhere around us.

Can the remnant in America first repent of laying up treasures on earth, and then make a difference?
