TEST MY TREASURE—TEST MY HEART

Test Your Treasure—Test Your Heart

=====Now—Part One=====

Is your Heart tied up in your money?

Is your Time tied up in your money?

Is your Energy tied up in your money?

Is your Thinking tied up in your money?

Is your Talking tied up in your money?

Is the record of your Time, Energy, Thinking, and Talking actually a record of your Heart?

=====Now—Part Two=====

Is your Heart tied up in what else you could do to make more money?

Is your Time tied up in what else you could do to make more money?

Is your Energy tied up in what else you could do to make more money?

Is your Thinking tied up in what else you could do to make more money?

Is your Talking tied up in what else you could do to make more money?

Is the record of your Time, Energy, Thinking, and Talking actually a record of your Heart?

The One Thing—The One Word—The One Test—

M O R E

The widow of a big neighboring farmer once told me this about her husband:  “He said he never wanted all the farmland in this area—just the land next to him.”—more.

Many people may not be fully devoted to what’s on TV—just devoted to what else is on TV—more.

Many people boast of their accomplishments—but they talk most about doing something bigger—more.

Many people boast of their property and possessions—but they talk most about getting something better—more.

Many people sound like they’ve arrived—but they always talk about “someday” and “somewhere” when they’ll really get it all together—more.

Many people talk proud if they’re better off than you—but their focus and talk is on getting ahead of the next person (real or imagined) just above them, who inspires jealousy.

And some people really seem to have it all—and seem content—but they keep adding to what they have just because they can—more.

=====Now, Part Three=====

G I V E

Do you give already?

Do you give a whole lot?

Do you give some percentage?

Do you give up some thing to give?

Do you ever sacrifice personally to give?

Do you ever suffer personally, by choice, to give?

Do you notice this line gets longer as the challenge grows?

In your world, does making more mean giving even more, and more?

How about getting off the chart?

How about getting rid of the chart?

How about giving all you don’t need to someone who does need?

How about giving what you do need to someone who has less?

How about giving just because someone asked?

How about giving just because Jesus said to?

How about asking Jesus how much He wants you to give?

How about giving until you get different test results above?

–   People are not satisfied until they are successful with . . .

+ “Godliness with contentment is great gain (success).”

–   Many people are not content with . . .

+ “Having food and clothing, let us be content.”

–   People are afraid to give today because . . .

+ “Give to him who asks.”

–   Everyone I talk to says you have to take care of yourself first before . . .

+ “Look not everyone on his own things, but also on the things of others.”   “Value others higher than yourself.”

–   All Americans with a job are expected to have money in the bank, money for insurance, money for retirement, and . . .

+ “Do not lay up treasures on earth.”  “Take no thought for tomorrow.”

–   American Christians really believe they can have their money stashed on earth for things of this world, and still follow Jesus, and . . .

+ “Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”

–   I say, if your theology and your economics and your ideas about compassion don’t apply to everyone around the world, change your theology first; then the rest will follow . . .

+ “Seek first (seek only) the kingdom of God, and all these things will be added unto you.”

“ON MY HONOR” “TO GOD” “MORALLY STRAIGHT”

If you separate or alter any parts of the boy scout pledge, you destroy all of the pledge, and you destroy one more Godly, patriotic, family, American institution.

And that is precisely the intention of those behind the current push to change the boy scouts.

“IT’S NOT DARK ENOUGH YET . . .”

“It’s not dark enough yet for the light to shine on America.”     —–Star Parker (on AFR TALK—Sandy Rios In The Morning)

I just watched the movie “Hidden In Silence” about a young girl, Stefania Podgorska, hiding Jews in her attic in Poland.  It was thrust on her suddenly, almost overnight, and she had to do something.

In America, we who care have not yet reached the point where we have to do something.  Until our individual, daily lives are disrupted, quite possibly by violence, we are not likely to take action.

I am distressed daily, for years, when I hear disturbing facts documenting America’s surrender to all kinds of evil—and then the call to action consists of ‘get more informed’ and ‘we must stay on top of this.’

Action to stop Hitler’s evil rampage came with a high price—extreme risk—severe sacrifice—massacre—martyrdom.

Until we get that mindset of commitment to action to stand against the evil running this country, we are hiding the light in a vast darkness.

Pray, to see what you should do, to make a difference, beyond information and talk.  I pray the same for me.

NOT “RIGHT OR WRONG”—BUT “RIGHT OR SWEET”

It is far more significant to be ‘sweet,’ with your spouse; than to be ‘right,’ against your spouse.

“ALL CAUGHT UP”

If that is on your tombstone, will it be true?

I wish I could make you think about that before reading on.

I could just write for several minutes about anything, but that may not make you think about the title.

“ALL CAUGHT UP”

True only for Christians when they die—actual double truth.

Christians die when their work here is done; then they are caught up to heaven.

Someday I’ll be finished and caught up.  Want to join me?

HOW DOES A MAN MEASURE UP?

What makes him a big man—a great man?

It is not what he has done?

What matters is what God has done in him.

When God makes a big man, He starts with broken.

When God chooses to use a man greatly, He often starts by testing him severely.

“Not many wise men, not many mighty, not many noble are called; but God has chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God has chosen the weak things of the world to confound the mighty.”

“. . . THOROUGH INVESTIGATION . . . BRING THEM TO JUSTICE.”

“We will conduct a thorough investigation and use everything in our power to bring those responsible to justice.”     —–BHOB*

We have heard this enough times to conclude the truth—different from words spoken.

“We will conduct a thorough investigation for as long as it takes to distract people from the truth and make them forget what really happened, and we will use everything in our power to blame someone else or leave the matter so confusing that people will think it is impossible to ever know the truth that would hold us (me) responsible.”     —–BHOB* (with a little help from the presidential ‘Truth-A-Prompter”—available only to statesmen)

Truth and Lies don’t mix—in the same sentence or in the same person.

*Barack Hussein OBama—Say BHHHOB aloud and it sounds like the warning for Christians in the 2008 election: “Beware of sheep’s clothing.”

“POSITIVE” ENCOURAGEMENT for IGNORANCE—or—“NEGATIVE” FACTS for TRUTH

What is your goal?

What are the means to your goal?

What resources do you turn to for strength?

If it makes you money, do it.

It if makes you happy, buy it.

If it makes you happy, go for it.

If he makes you happy, marry him.

If it makes you feel good, listen to it.

If it guarantees your retirement, secure it.

“. . . much stuff laid up for many years.  Eat, drink, and be merry.”

“But God said, ‘You fool’ . . .”

No wonder people say Christians and the alternate media are ‘negative.’

But there remains a nagging word at the end of the title—TRUTH.

The goal of happiness directs you on a path with only positive and encouraging influences.  Result—Ignorance.

The goal of reality directs you on a path with facts that may be very uncomfortable.  Result—Truth.

So, what is your goal?

So, what are you watching and listening to for encouragement?

So, what is your source for information—for the facts?

So, are you getting the truth—and basing your life on it?

SET FREE BY THE FIRE—NOT YET, BUT SOON

“It’s the economy, stupid.”

Really?

Political policy?

Voter strategy?

How’s that working for you, America, the past decade?

Are you better off than a few years ago, with that emphasis?

How’s that working for you, church?

Has your influence on the culture expanded?

Prosperity, abundance, apathy, dependence, disaster . . . in America?

“Set free by the fire” sounds un-American, in our life experience.

We’ve come to expect a high standard of living as a birthright in this country.  And the church has bought into materialism to the point of ineffective—blending in with the economics of the world.

This is not typical—not in history—not in the church.

“Some through the water, some through the flood;

Some through the fire, but all through the blood;

Some through great sorrow, but God gives a song

In the night seasons, and all the day long.”

At this point I hear no one warning Christians to stop putting their money into the future of this world.  It is finally becoming obvious how shaky and uncertain that may be.  Actually, Jesus told us (and it’s written down in everybody’s Bible) to not lay up treasures on earth, where “moth and rust corrupt, and where thieves break in and steal.”

How quickly His words can become true, after we ignore them for decades, thinking we have beat the system (the system that He warned us would fail).  “Moth, Rust, Thieves”—recession, collapse, crooks, dictators.

We have bought into the repeat of history, thinking we know better, thinking we have insured everything, thinking we have guaranteed income for the rest of our lives if we just get the right advice and make the right investments.

“But God said, ‘You fool.'”

And American Christians say, “I don’t want to hear that.  Shut up.”

God’s response will be clear soon enough.

Some Christians will be set free from financial bondage to this world, through “fire” that burns away everything that is not invested directly in the kingdom of God.

Some Christians, and many who claim Christianity, will fall away from faith when they see their “stuff” burned up.
