“DON’T TELEGRAPH YOUR PASSES”

I played basketball my second year at a small junior college .

Not much to say about how I did, but I do remember the coach’s often repeated line, “Don’t telegraph your passes.”

You can guess where I’m going with this—applied to war, today.

Seems when the good guys broadcast their intentions, they suffer and lose.

Seems when the bad guys make their intentions clear, nobody believes them, and nobody responds accordingly.

War is complicated, and war is hell, and waiting to wage a winnable war is worse.

Something has got to be simple in all the mess.

The consequences of losing this one today are unthinkable, even though people see those consequences every day on their screen.

BHOB* keeps telling everyone when we will end wars, while the enemy keeps telling everyone they’re going to intensify the war, until they reach their goal—us.

So the bad guys telegraph their passes, and the good guys don’t get it.

How come?

The “good guys” ARE the bad guys—running the show from Washington, along with those running the show from the Middle East.

A lot of Americans realize how bad, how evil, the leadership is in Washington.

So why can’t we defeat them?

For too long the REAL “good guys” in America have telegraphed our passes and made it clear that we will avoid violence at all cost.

Because we avoid violence, the cost of the coming violence will be enormous.

We wait for the next election, and we hope, and we lose.

This last one turned out to be snatching political defeat from the jaws of election victory, again.

Everybody’s wrapped up in what the “leaders” should be doing, and what should happen in 2016.

Again, we’re making it clear that we’re counting on another election, while the enemy (inside and out) laughs and plans their final assault, long before then.

They couldn’t be more obvious—plenty of dates and intentions, in 2015, and we wait?

And we just passed the midpoint of 2015.

God help us now—We need a miracle.

And give us all supernatural gun control—with our two hands held by Yours.

CHRISTIANITY – – – GETTING HARDER – – – GETTING EASIER

In America, it will be getting harder to be a Christian.

Also—

In America, it will be getting easier to tell who is a Christian.

(worth repeating)

WHAT CAN I SAY? – – – WHAT CAN I DO?

“The wicked will be turned into hell; and all the nations that forget God.”

In the light of that truth unfolding in front of our eyes, what can I say, and what can I do?

A simple line from a song on the radio this morning says it well, and I will leave it with you now:

“Keep pushing back the dark;

Somebody needs the light you have.”

That will always be so.

THE PROBLEM WITH MIRACLES

It seems that I cannot make it through most days without one or more miracles.

God has to pull something again and again for me to just get by.

And a miracle is something that we can’t explain any other way, “but God”.

So what is my problem with that?

My nemesis is a tendency to say, “What’s wrong with me, that I can’t accomplish stuff and get things done like other people I know?”

And God says, “What’s wrong with you is that you’re trying to accomplish stuff and get things done like other people.  But I want you to depend on Me, so I get the credit and the glory for anything good in your life.”

So what can I say?

Okay, God.

PATTERNS ?

Plane crash into mountain?

Train crash speeding into curve?

Intentional?

Planned?

Deranged?

Or

Arranged?

I REPEAT – – – I REPEAT – – – I RE . . .

When will the commentators of America stop spending your precious few remaining hours of free speech complaining about BHOB* not acting like the President and not taking steps to save America like the President is supposed to.

HE’S NOT GOING TO!

HE’S NOT OUR PRESIDENT!

HE’S OUR ENEMIES’ ADVOCATE!

HE’S OUR DICTATOR!

START TALKING FROM THAT TRUTH PERSPECTIVE! (in every broadcast, in every article)

Will all of you with an audience say something that actually makes a difference?

Tell us, if you can, what we can do that will actually make a difference.

I am as frustrated as you, searching for answers, searching for direction, searching for leadership.

Before the 2008 election, I attempted a political cartoon, but I had no audience other than sending out a hundred emails.

The cartoon had two frames, each showing a train—“BHOB* CAMPAIGN EXPRESS”—barreling down the track to the station ahead—November Election.

The first frame showed individuals and organizations beside the tracks, holding signs protesting the fallacies and lies and dangers hidden on the train.

The second frame showed the same individuals and organizations with the same signs, but they had thrown down their signs.

Instead, they were on the tracks in front of the train, pulling spikes out of the track to derail it.

We know where the individuals and organizations in the first frame are today.

They are holding up bigger protest signs, beside the tracks bringing trains with tanks and guns and bullets.

And some of the camouflage is blowing off the trains.

But the trains are not slowing down.

We don’t know where the individuals and organizations in the second frame are today.

Disappearing?

Hiding?

Waiting to take one last shot when ISIS shows up at their doorstep?

Let me try putting it this way:

Do you believe ISIS is here, by multiple invitations from the one in the White House?

Report and comment accordingly.

Your business as usual today? – – – Small comfort tomorrow!

AMERICA – – – FOR AMERICANS !

America—everyone is welcome to come here—you just have to become an American.

What is an American?

An American believes in

– – – The CONSTITUTION

– – – LIFE

– – – FREEDOM

– – – WORK

– – – GOVERNMENT

An American accepts and practices what the CONSTITUTION says.

An American acknowledges that God the Creator created us equal.

An American acknowledges that God the Creator gave us rights, permanently.

An American believes in the right to LIFE, in the Constitution—that means the right for innocents to not be killed at any age.

An American believes in the right to LIBERTY, in the Constitution—that means the right to live free or die.

An American believes in the right to pursue happiness, in the Constitution—that means the right to WORK to provide for family.

An American believes in GOVERNMENT, in the Constitution—that means

– – – “provide for the common defense” (peace through strength)

– – – “promote the general welfare” (let Americans care for Americans)

– – – “secure the blessings of liberty” (keep freedom, keep faith, keep flourishing)

What happened to America?

What happened to Americans?

I just had to say the obvious, because the real America still burns in the soul of real Americans.  Nothing else will do.

GOD, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?

(continued from yesterday)

I am personally blessed with a spiritual heritage—indeed a legacy—which I had no part in making.

+  My mom was the faithful, hard working Proverbs 31 woman.  My dad had that chapter read at her funeral, so he got it.

+  My dad put hundreds of Bible verses in my head, and heart, through no effort of my own.  And the convictions that go with them are now imbedded in me—especially the convictions that let to his martyrdom thirty years ago, a hundred yards from where I am writing now.

+  Christian radio has influenced me for a lifetime—more so than any other person I know.  I did not realize the discernment I was gaining from the dozen stations in over six decades.

Growing up it was KSKY 660 in Dallas, and the mega, mega station across from Del Rio in the evenings, and Billy Graham every Sunday noon after dinner on KTEM 1400 in Temple.

Then three awesome stations in South Florida for 17 years.  Now 25 years back in Texas, with KBBW 1010 and AFR and AFR talk and KLOV.

What a blessing of amazing spiritual nutrition, plus spiritual fitness training with AFR talk.

+      +      +      +      +      +

Then what?   “Unto whom much is given, much will be required.”

It is time for me to speak up, and write.

I’ve been posting articles from my convictions for four years now at AWordforThought.com, on a variety of topics.

If you are reading this somewhere else, I ask you to spend some time at the web site.

+      +      +      +      +      +

I want to specifically address one subject here that impacts all others:

REVIVAL

Revival—when it comes, it is obvious, and it changes things.

—God hears from heaven.

—God forgives our sins.

—God heals our land.

Because—God responds to our prayer, our attitude, and our action.

—We humble ourselves.

—We pray.

—We seek His face.

—We turn from our wicked ways.

Humility—elusive when life goes well.

Praying—strong when life gets tough.

Seeking His face—deepest when we are desperate.

Turning from our wicked ways—not so popular if anyone gets specific.

John the Baptist got specific and lost his head.  But Jesus called him the greatest.

Telemachus shouted “In the Name of Christ, Forbear”, and the gladiator finished him off with his sword.  But the bloody entertainment in the Coliseum stopped from that day on.

Many reformers and Bible translators gave the Bible to the common people—and burned.  (Wycliffe was so hated that they dug up his bones and burned them, because they didn’t get to burn him alive.)  But we now enjoy the Word of God that lives forever.

+      +      +      +      +      +

Today, what if the sin of God’s people, the “wicked way” that He is waiting for His people to turn from, is money in the wrong places?

What if Genesis 3:1 is at the heart of the holdup for revival in America?

“Did God really say . . . ?”

Did God really say, “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust corrupt, and thieves break in and steal.  Do lay up treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not corrupt, and thieves do not break in and steal.  For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”

Did God really say, “No one can serve two masters. . .  You cannot serve God and mammon (worldly gain).”

Did God really say, “Take no thought for tomorrow—what you will eat, what you will drink, what you will wear.  Your heavenly Father knows you have need of these things.  But seek first (only) the kingdom of God, and His righteousness, and all these things will be added unto you.”

Did God really say, “You say to yourself that you have much goods laid up for many years—take your ease—eat, drink, and be merry.  But God says, ‘You fool, this night your soul will be required of you. Then whose shall all these things be which you have provided?’  So is he who lays up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.”

Did God really say, “One thing you lack; go your way, sell whatever you have, and give it to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven.  And come, take up the cross, and follow me.”  The person who heard this was sad and went away grieved, because he had ‘great possessions.’

Did God really say, “Take heed, and beware of covetousness; for a person’s life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses.”

Did God really say, “How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!  (Jesus disciples were astonished at his words, but Jesus repeated them.)  Children, how hard is it for those who trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God!  It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.”

FACT—I have never heard a Christian leader address these Bible verses without a disclaimer (Did God really say?).

+      +      +      +      +      +

After the economic trouble following 2008, very briefly I heard some Christians questioning the stockpiling of treasures where moth, rust, and thieves were wiping it out.  Then everyone got smarter and started getting better advice to avoid losing the next time.

Basically, back to business as usual, counting on the American dream—at least as long as it lasts.

Are God’s people investing smarter now, or more deceived by the financial culture with promises of guaranteed income for life?

Are God’s people committed in the world’s money system too deep to get out now?

Verses on the ant and grasshopper are quoted to justify the American financial focus and fit it into the Bible.  These verses were addressed to lazy sluggards (grasshopper), calling for diligent work (ant), preparing for the certain returning seasons, not for some uncertain someday when you don’t have to work.

+      +      +      +      +      +

Does financial advice given to American Christians apply around the world?

Does financial advice given to American Christians apply to those without a portfolio for retirement?

We are told to SHARE SOME of our wealth with God.

We are not told to GIVE IT ALL.

When we share, we maintain control.

When we give, we lose control as soon as we give it.

+      +      +      +      +      +

And finally, two more proofs that this could be the #1 wicked way that God is waiting for His people to turn from:

+ the guaranteed vehement reaction in defense of everything financial the way Christians do it in America

+ the fear the keeps anyone from speaking out and warning Christians to get out of the financial system of Sodom

+      +      +      +      +      +

We worship with money something that is not in the Bible—retirement.

We worship with money something that God wants to provide—insurance.

WHAT IF . . . PRAYER IS NOT ENOUGH?

What if prayer is not enough to save America?

What else does God require of His people?

What if no one is willing to preach it?

What if no one will talk about it?

What if you get in trouble?

What if you are silent?

What if I am guilty?

What if God said?
