WHO IS THIS ? – – – HOW COME ?

First they accepted gay members.

Then they accepted gay leaders.

Then they accepted transgender members.

Then they changed their name.

Then they accepted girl members.

Then they lost members—lots of members.

Then they lost money—lots of money.

WHO IS THIS?

It was the Boy Scouts of America.

“How come” are they in trouble?

As Todd Starnes said today,

“Financial bankruptcy is one thing;

Moral bankruptcy is quite another.”

Cause and effect—should be obvious (should be).

When you lose your bearings, your wheels come off.

YOU WANT LEAVES ? – – – OR FRUIT ?

Leaves are for looks—looks successful—proves nothing.

Fruit is what counts—truly successful—proves faith is real.

HOW DO YOU MAKE IT, THROUGH PERSECUTION ?

Andrew Brunson’s wife was asked how they made it when he was in prison in Turkey for two years for his Christian faith.

We are “unworthy, but worth it to hang in there, hang on, know God’s will.”

If you have not seen Andrew Brunson’s visit with Donald Trump in the oval office, watch and see how it ended.

Just what we need in America today—Andrew laid hands on the President and prayed for him, and Trump welcomed that.

PREACHING SCHOOL

How do you learn how to preach?

Can anyone teach you?

Franklin Graham asked his father that question, to give him some pointers on preaching.

His answer:

“You learn to preach by preaching.”—–Billy Graham

DIFFERENCE BETWEEN DEMOCRAT AND REPUBLICAN

Democrat—DEATH

Republican—LIFE

HARDER THAN PERSECUTION ?

EVERY Christian who defects from North Korea to South Korea struggles with their faith—it’s harder for them to deal with prosperity than with persecution.

AMAZING!

So, where does that leave us, American Christians?

NOV. 6 – – – TAKE YOUR UMBRELLA

“Faith is taking an umbrella to a prayer meeting for rain.”—–Alex McFarland on afr.net

Take your umbrella to the voting booth and tell people who ask, that you are praying for God’s blessings to rain on America.

“GO AND TELL WHAT GOD HAS DONE FOR YOU”

“Go and tell what God has done for you.”—–Jesus (after He did a miracle)

I must learn to more boldly share testimony of God’s provision, without my typical caution and reservation that someone may take it wrong, and think the Christian life is just roses.

“JESUS MARVELED . . .”

Jesus (a Jew, surrounded by Jews) marveled at the faith of a Roman Centurion, pleading for help for his servant.

Have you ever thought that Jesus might marvel at your faith?

That crossed my mind for the first time this morning, so I prayed for a smidgen of that kind of faith today.

WHAT WOULD JESUS SAY ?

There was a “nice” church where everyone dressed and acted nice, like they were expected to.

A visitor came dressed in cowboy boots and hat, with clean clothes, but torn jeans.

After the service, the pastor talked to him and suggested that he pray that week and ask Jesus what he should wear to church, and come back.

He agreed, prayed, and came the next week dressed the same way.

The pastor was surprised and asked him if he prayed about what he should wear to church.

He said Jesus told him to wear the same clothes.

And what did Jesus say about our church’s dress code?

Jesus said He didn’t know—He’d never been there.

I wonder how many churches have lots of expectations for their members, but no Jesus.
