More fake news—vs—more truth.
There is an increasingly competitive race between those presenting the lies of fake news and those presenting the truth.
It has become clear to both sides that the stakes are high, and the time is short—one side is going to win, and one is going to lose.
Normalcy is unsustainable as change is accelerating everywhere.
Most have increased anxiety—aware that something is about to break loose—something that will dramatically upset our everyday lives.
Those bent on destroying America are capitalizing on everything they can to create fear in Americans, that will in turn give them more power.
The increased intensity to push mandates for more control of our lives, brings greater threatening rhetoric from officials, and ominous alarmist assumptions from the media.
Those who have consistently accepted as fact the reports of the media and the claims of politicians, are increasingly questioning everything they’ve been told.
And these people are discovering alternate news sources, to hear the truth.
The competition between fake and true is desperately becoming ‘life and death.’
Lies are exposed by truth.
Truth is incomplete without Biblical truth.
It is impossible to get a Biblical perspective on the news by starting your day with the news.
It is impossible to get a Biblical perspective on the news by ending your day with the news.
American Family Radio tells the truth from a Biblical perspective about everything going on today (afr.net and 180 stations).
The race, the competition between truth and falsehood, is a war—a spiritual war for the soul of America, for the soul of Americans, for your soul and mine.

What a difference a word can make, or a simple play on words.
June 18,1815—England waited for a message across the channel about the decisive battle with Napoleon. Late in the day a ship flashed the message, “Wellington defeated,” and fog rolled in. All was lost, until the fog lifted, and the complete message came from the flashing light, “Wellington defeated the enemy.”
England, and the world, again hung in the balance during WWII.
The furor, the all-consuming rage, of The Fuhrer of Nazism sent fear throughout Germany, Europe, and the world.
But we were on God’s side then, and the furor of God was with us, against the furor of hell unleashed—and we defeated the enemy.
Not so today.
Promises—so what are we supposed to do?
+Be still – – –
– – – and know that I am God.
+Humble yourselves – – –
– – – and He will exalt you.
+Cast all your care on Him – – –
– – – for He cares for you.
+Call upon Me in the day of trouble – – –
– – – I will deliver you. (Remember—and you will glorify Me.)
+(1) Trust in the Lord with all your heart – – –
+(2) Do not lean on your own understanding – – –
+(3) In all your ways acknowledge Him – – –
– – – and He will direct your paths.
+Draw near to God – – –
– – – and He will draw near to you.
+Resist the devil – – –
– – – and he will flee from you. (That means draw near to God first—then resist the devil successfully.)
Finally—just a fact, to accept—
+Many are the afflictions of the righteous
– – -but the Lord delivers him out of them all.
What in the world could God do in the situation we’re in today?
He could do absolutely anything, because He is God.
What will He do?
I don’t know.
What can we do?
We can pray.
I do know God listens.
Today, God will work in the lives of individuals who cry out to Him in trouble, first.
Today, God will strengthen the believers in trouble, so they will know they are not forgotten, when we cry out to Him, for them.
Today, God will prepare us for the days ahead, so we will be faithful to the end, when we cry out to Him more earnestly than ever, now.
All the crazy, ungodly confusion coming from the government these days, is actually rather simple in the following context.
This is not America, we do not have an American president, we do not have an American future.
“If we ever forget that we are a nation under God, then we will be a nation gone under.” —–Ronald Reagan
We have officially removed ourselves from under God for quite some time already—the two and a half centuries of peace and prosperity and strength, from His blessings, are over.
It is just that simple—no mystery, no wondering why this is happening.
I don’t know about that one.
I do know there are a lot of folks who fit the definition of ‘ox’ + ‘moron’ while claiming the name of Christianity.
Where is the line between using this label for a saying, or using the label for a person?
– – –
How about this for real—is there room for words to carry truth—more than just using words flippantly for effect?
– – –
“In the world you will have BIG trouble—cheer up . . .” (Insane oxymoron of the highest order)
– – –
“We must through MUCH trouble enter . . .” (Pass, on purposely following that promise)
– – –
“Count it all joy when you land MANY troubles . . .” (You’ve got to be kidding)
– – –
In case you’re wondering, there’s more from that same source.
In case you want to sign up,
“Everybody will hate you . . .” (If they find your leader’s name on you)
– – –
“You’ll lose it all, ALL, for signing up with my label, my name, my EXCLUSIVE outfit.” (Interested yet?)
– – –
You know, lots of gangs recruit that way, and operate that way, successfully.
Oh, by the way, those gangs are not limited to the low-life in dark alleys.
Lots of ‘gangs’ use the same tools for recruitment and brutal control in very high places—in business, in politics, in religion, even churches.
– – –
So, if you look at my writings, I am not a negative skeptic, not a pacifist, not a cultist, not a dreamer, not a genius, not a conformist, not a ‘sheep,’ . . . so, how do I pull this together, after intentionally posing brutal questions of life?
If I’m not smart enough or clever enough or influential enough to start a new movement, I must put my weight and my words on proven truth—TRUTH that keeps getting forgotten over and over as history relentlessly repeats itself.
And we all fall victim to that, unsuspectingly.
For anyone who will read, and listen, I will call you back to TRUTH that stands because it has stood the test of time.
– – –
Pilate asked Jesus the right question, but he missed the answer—silence—because TRUTH was standing right there.
– – –
You see:
+Jesus did not fit in this world.
+Jesus’ followers did not fit in this world—never have, never will.
+This entire world is against God.
+This entire world is against God’s followers, but only if you claim the name of Jesus for your life. (Anyone can observe that nowadays.)
+Jesus is the one offense—universally.
+Jesus is the devil’s one enemy—and the devil lost at the battle of the grave—the RESURRECTION.
– – –
So, now we can see some of the puzzle pieces, even the oxymorons, start to fit in the big picture.
But it’s God’s picture, not created by people, or even by the church.
I must return to this concern because I still hear the same, constant, universal drumbeat from all financial advisors and preachers and ‘Bible’ teachers.
– – –
The most prominent advisor on Christian radio uses a clip from Billy Graham (don’t know the context):
“When Jesus told the rich, young ruler to sell everything and follow Him, Jesus did not want his money—He wanted his heart.”
– – –
Just today someone was teaching that money is not the problem as long as it does not have first place in your heart.
– – –
I guarantee that the message received by American Christians is that wherever you have your money is okay (except funding abortion or pornography) as long as your heart is in the right place.
– – –
The problem—everything Jesus said about money.
The problem—what Jesus said about money is never quoted, or always quoted with a compulsive disclaimer.
I’ve observed this my whole life, and only Daddy and my pastor Steve have made the distinction of quoting and letting Jesus’ words stand, period.
– – –
American Christians have enormous amounts of money ‘invested’ in places that are questionable at best, in light of Jesus’ words, and more obviously in direct violation of Jesus’ words.
We have become so accustomed to participating in everything American prosperity offers, that we’re convinced it’s Biblical—we’ve elevated teachers to say what we want to hear, because we’re in too deep to get out.
– – –
‘Incidentally,’ Jesus’ words apply to all places in the world and all times of history—advice given and taken by Americans does not.
– – –
So, what did Jesus say that doesn’t mesh with universal, comprehensive, all-encompassing teaching across-the-board in America?
– – –
“Sell what you have, give it to the poor, and come follow me.”
– – –
“Where your treasure is, there your heart WILL BE also.”
– – –
“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust corrupt, and thieves break in and steal.”
– – –
“Do lay up treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not corrupt, and thieves do not break in and steal.”
– – –
“If God takes care of the flowers and the birds, how much more will your Father take care of you . . . You are much more valuable than many sparrows.”
– – –
Jesus told the story of a prosperous farmer with a bumper crop, who stored it in bigger barns and decided to retire for many years of ease.
Then the fateful words, “BUT GOD said, tonight your soul will be required—when whose will all these things be?”
The story ends, ” . . . not rich toward God.”
– – –
“It is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.”
– – –
“Those who want to be rich, fall into temptation and a snare and many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.”
– – –
In light of Jesus’ repeated warnings about the serious, eternal dangers of seeking more money, WHY do so many American Christians relentlessly pursue trying to beat the odds?
I think they are listening to another word in the Bible, from a different source, in Genesis 3:1, “Did God really say?”
– – –
So, did Jesus really just want the rich, young guy’s heart, and not his money?
Actually, according to Jesus’ own words, the two are inextricably tied together—Jesus could not have his heart (or our heart) without his money, so He told him he had to give up (GIVE AWAY) his money first before he could follow Jesus, to heaven.
How much of his money did Jesus tell him to give?
Why is this true story in the Bible, for us?
The invention of the trinity by Tertullian in the third century, and the millions and millions of unsuccessful attempts to explain it, and yet the universal sacred adherence to it—is very much like the invention of evolution by Darwin in the nineteenth century, and the thousands of unsuccessful attempts to prove it, and yet the universal sacred adherence to it as a fact.
Maybe God knows something I don’t know.
