REPENT – – – WHEN ?

When is repentance most likely ?

While living ?
When dying ?
Earlier is better, more likely.

The chance (likelihood) of repentance goes down over time as a person gets older.

Statistically, that is.

Thank God that He is not bound or limited by statistics generated by man’s response to Him.

Anyone (ANY ONE),
Anytime [ANY TIME),
Can get saved ☆!☆!

IF – – – you’re still alive.

And just how long will that be ?
How much time do you have ?
How much time do you think you have ?
How does your life reflect how much time you have left—or don’t have left ?

The problem is not if you have enough time to come to Jesus and get saved.
The problem is: Do you understand what’s at stake ?

If you put it off right now, your chances of getting saved and going to heaven go down, and your chances of not getting saved and going to hell go up.

CHOICE
“You choose THIS DAY whom you will serve.”

STATISTICS
Repeat—God is not limited by statistics, and neither are you.
No matter what your age . . .
No matter what your past . . .
No matter what your present . . .
You can come to Jesus today, NOW, and ask Him to save you, and He will save you.

OR
You can be another statistic and go to hell.

THERE IS NO GOOD REASON TO CHOOSE “OR.”

GOD, THE BIBLE, AND CAPITALISM

The only progressive* system of economics is capitalism.

The only economic system that makes people better off is capitalism.

The only economic system that creates wealth is capitalism.

Capitalism works.

Capitalism works with freedom.

It’s a fact—“these truths”.

It’s obvious—“self-evident”.

It’s guaranteed—“certain”.

It’s permanent—“unalienable”.

Claim it—“We hold”.

We have the rights to freedom (“liberty”) and capitalism (“pursuit of happiness”)—follows the “right to life”.

Capitalism works so well in America because the Declaration of Independence recognizes and states clearly that the principle of freedom to pursue happiness and create wealth comes directly from God.

Capitalism is the economic system designed by God—“Remember the LORD your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth.”

* All other systems are regressive.

DID JESUS LEARN ?

Jesus was God, always.
Jesus is God, always.

So, how is it possible that Jesus had to learn, or could learn ?

We cannot completely comprehend everything included when Jesus set aside life in heaven—God—and came to earth, to us—man—and lived both for 33 years.

We can know just as much as we need to know about Jesus—God—from the Bible.

– – –

++ When Jesus was twelve years old, the Bible says he said “he had to be about His Father’s business”—His Father in heaven.
Then the Bible says, “He went home with [his parents] Mary and Joseph, and obeyed them.”
Then the Bible says, “Jesus grew in wisdom (mentally) and stature (physically) and in favor with God (spiritually) and in favor with man (socially).”

++ Jesus learned what it’s like to be tempted, and win.
The Bible says, “He was in all points like we are, yet without sin.”

++ Jesus learned rejection and suffering on earth, because there were no such things in heaven.
The Bible says “He was a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief.”

++ Jesus learned the blessing of fellowship in close friendships with human beings.
The Bible says that John was “the disciple whom Jesus loved.”
The Bible says He often visited His friends Mary and her sister Martha and their brother Lazarus.

++ Jesus learned sadness over the loss of some of those close to Him.
The Bible says Jesus cried openly at the grave of his friend Lazarus.
The Bible says Jesus cried over Jerusalem, because they rejected Him.
The Bible says Jesus wanted to bring them together like a hen with her chicks, “but they would not”.

++ Jesus learned what it’s like to be tired, very tired.
The Bible says Jesus was sleeping soundly in a boat about to be swamped in a severe storm.

++ Jesus learned what it’s like to need, depend on, much time praying, often alone.
The Bible says that many times “way before daylight Jesus went to a solitary place and prayed.”
The Bible says that sometimes “Jesus prayed all night.”

++ Jesus learned what it’s like to carry the burden of sin, our sin, by choice, even though He was sinless.
The Bible says this was the cause for which Jesus came to earth.
Jesus learned what it’s like to plead over and over for deliverance from that burden.
The Bible says Jesus prayed for that deliverance three times, so passionately that He sweat blood.
Jesus learned that He could not avoid His mission to deliver us from the burden of our sin.
Jesus learned to surrender to His Father’s will.

++ Jesus learned what it’s like to be betrayed.
The Bible says Jesus asked Judas, “Friend, why are you here ?”

++ Jesus learned what it’s like to have enemies and suffer extreme pain at their hands.

++ Jesus learned what it’s like to die.
Jesus learned what it’s like to finish what He was called to do.
The Bible says, “Jesus said, ‘It is finished’ and died.”

– – –

The Bible says, “Even though He was God’s Son, Jesus learned obedience by the things He suffered.”

BELIEF + SUFFERING

“Don’t expect to be able to filter suffering out of your life without reducing your belief in Christ.”
—–VOM after sharing testimony of a couple serving, suffering, for Christ in China

UNCOMFORTABLE WITH HELL ?

Uncomfortable* with talk about hell ?

  • leading to-

Uncomfortable in hell ?

? ‘Uncomfortable’ ? in hell
—NO ! ! !
—Torment** ! ! ! in hell

Are Christians uncomfortable talking to people about hell, and how to not go there, because talk will make them uncomfortable – – – or worse ?

Nothing, nothing else matters in the end (our end), but first the question of heaven or hell—where are you going when you die ?

* UNCOMFORTABLE ? ? ?
We must talk to people about hell—not hopefully assume they’re okay, going to heaven.

In hell the rich man pleaded for God to send someone from the dead to warn his brothers to not go to hell.
Response from heaven: If they do not listen to the Law and the Gospel (the Bible), they will not repent if someone rises from the dead.

** TORMENT X! X! X!
In hell the rich man pleaded for God to send someone to dip their finger in water and cool his tongue, because he was in agony, torment, in the flame.

Hell is real !
Hell is agony ! !
Hell is torment ! ! !
Don’t let someone go to hell because you didn’t tell them how to avoid hell.

HOW ?
Admit you’re a sinner.
Believe Jesus paid for your sin.
Ask Him to be in charge of your life.

TOO MANY ROOSTERS

Too many roosters

Part One
— Many roosters
— Multiple locations
— Roosters crow
— That’s what roosters do
— All the time ? ? ?
— Roosters are known for their trademark wakeup call early in the morning—sometimes ‘too early’

Observation—real time :
— Too many roosters in multiple locations have changed from their created role of alarm clock—to a continuous crowing competition, on and on and on.

Now I’m waiting for meaningful life application, maybe even spiritual.

Okay, here it is—at least a start:

Part Two
— Too many preachers
— Too many churches
— Too many christians
— Too many comforts
— Too many pleasures
— Too many assumptions

Part Three
The brash phrases in part two have explanations (coming), but perhaps someone may see where this is going.

The present church in America has gone far from leadership in the culture, indeed shaping the culture.

The culture does not hear a cry for repentance from the church, which divides everyone into two groups—those who accept the message of Jesus for forgiveness and respond—and those who reject the message.

Most people do not see the contrast because the church has not made it clear that there is no middle ground.
Even most people within the church accept more and more compromise and compatibility with the culture.

American Christians are dangerously comfortable, and ineffective.

Just as our civilization has progressed by leaps and bounds in recent centuries, giving everyone (in America) a better life—so Christians believe the church has likewise advanced to a more modern message, even embarrassed or ashamed of the old, straight, strong word right from the Bible.

Christians and church leaders compare themselves with each other, and feel pretty good (and crow about it).

The Bible gives clear assessment and warning about these times:

“For we dare not class ourselves or compare ourselves with those who commend themselves. But they, measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.”

“But he who glories, let him glory in the Lord. For not he who commends himself is approved, but whom the Lord commends.”

WHAT COUNTS – NOW – THEN – FOR YOU ?

What really counts in your life now ?
[Need a mandatory pause here, or repeat]
“What really counts in your life now ?”

Will it count for keeps, forever ?

What makes you ready for your last day, to meet your Maker ?

Set aside any dependence on (your) church.

Set aside any dependence on family background.

Set aside any dependence on your exemplary life.

Set aside any dependence on your reputation.

Set aside what you think about yourself.

Set aside what you think or say about God—or what you might say to God.

Set everything aside—on your last day it will all be set aside.

What will be left, on your last day ? (And we all have a last day coming)

What will be left ?
— You
and
— Jesus

And Jesus will be in charge, covering your case on His terms.

And what are His terms ?

Everything He already said and made perfectly clear and wrote down in the Bible.

And that was available to you in your life.

His Terms:

  • God is good and holy.
  • You are not good.
  • You are a sinner.
  • God must punish sin.
  • “The wages of sin is death.”
  • God already punished sin, with death.
  • The death of God’s Son, Jesus, on the cross paid for sin, all sin, your sin.
  • God offers forgiveness for all your sin.
  • Admit you’re a sinner and accept His offer, now.

Jesus has a Book in heaven—The Lamb’s Book of Life—with names of every person who accepts His offer.
If your name is in there, you’re “IN”, wecome into heaven.
If your name is not in there, you’re not in‐‐‐sent to hell.

SOCIALISM IS THE GATEWAY DRUG T0 . . .

Socialism is the gateway drug to communism to tyranny and dictatorship.

On their way up to power, socialists promise the moon with free stuff, and people ‘buy it’ and vote them into office.
Dictators are often voted into power, but they are never voted out of power.

Drug dealers gain new customers by offering free stuff at first, and people ‘buy it’ and so vote themselves into the web.
However inviting it may appear at first, the cruel reality quickly gets brutal, with no escape.

Free is not forever, and sometimes not for very long at all.

Human nature never changes, never learns, responding to promises and lies and offers too good to be true—from the devil in the Garden of Eden, to Hitler in Germany, to Newsom in California and Mamdani in New York.

We will soon see how long before hollow promises turn to cruel and brutal force.

– – –

America has only one recourse—turn back to our founding and reclaim our dependence on God.

“It is impossible to rightly govern this nation without God and the Bible.”
—–George Washington

“The United States Constitution will work only for a moral and religious people; it is wholly inadequate for any other.”
—–John Adams

SUCCESSFUL ? – – – REFLECTIONS

? Success ? – – – defined

? Success ? – – – my definition

? Success ? – – – your definition

Have you “arrived” ?

Are you blessed more than others ?

Do you take some of the credit for that ?

“I am the master of my fate;
I am the captain of my soul.”

I do not subscribe to the above.
I have sought to follow God for many decades, and depend on Jesus.

I have acknowledged the gifts and abilities God has given in abundance, and tried to use them.
For some I have been faithful, with great satisfaction.
Others remain ‘safely’ sitting on the shelf, as I pass my mid-70’s, with major physical and mental limitations (some gradual, some sudden, some lifelong).

Daily
—“Lord, what do You want ?”
—“Lord, what do You want me to do, today ?”
—That prayer, along with the reality

—What CAN I do ?

“As thy days, so shall thy strength be.”

How much accepting, and how much pushing, is God asking, for us to be counted faithful in later years?

“One thing is required of us as stewards—faithfulness” (So much emphasized by Don Wildmon of AFR)

What about the times when I was out of God’s Will, and He spared my life ?

Indeed,
“Through many dangers, toils, and snares,
I have already come.
‘Twas grace that brought me safe this far,
And grace will lead me home.”

WHAT HAS TECHNOLOGY DONE FOR YOU LATELY ?

“The computer does not help you learn; it helps you accomplish a task.”
—–heard on AFR

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge.”

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.”
