“WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE . . . “

Turn this statement of infamy into a meaningful word for thought.

What difference does it make to follow Jesus?

One, you don’t have to lie.

Two, the problems of life are not pointless.

I’m going to leave it at that, for you to think and make your own applications.

Following Jesus does make a difference—all the difference in the world, and then some—more, much more.

“BE THERE”

Urgent message to my children, your spouses, and my grandchildren:

Be sure that your names are written, or get written, in the Book of Life in heaven.

That is the absolute requirement for heaven.

“BE THERE”

GOD’S NOT DEAD 2

I may never have been this passionate about urging everyone to see the movie, God’s Not Dead 2.

I see very few movies in theaters, but I saw this one today.

My keyboard and dictionary do not have what it takes to do justice for reviewing this movie.

Go see it right away, so you have time to tell lots of people about the experience.

And, stick around after the credits.

GOOD FRIDAY – – – BETTER SUNDAY – – – BEST SOMEDAY

It took all hell breaking loose to defeat all hell and make that Friday “GOOD.”

It took all heaven breaking loose to defeat death and break loose the grave and make that Sunday even “BETTER.”

AND, ALL GLORY TO GOD WILL BUST LOOSE FOR ALL TO SEE, WHEN THE “HELL DEFEATER,” THE “GRAVE DEFEATER,” THE “SIN DEFEATER” RETURNS ON THE “VERY BEST SOMEDAY” ! ! !

PREPARE TO BE A REFUGEE ?

Brace yourself, to be uncomfortable.
If this message does not make you uncomfortable, you may be in a dangerous place.*
Do you feel at home, here in America?
Thankful to live in America, yes—at home in America, dangerous.

American Christians:
What Is Your Focus?

Where Is Your Time Spent?

Where Is Your Energy Spent?

Where Is Your Money Spent?

Where Is Your Money Saved?

Where Is Your Love Given?

Do you know that money equals love, according to Jesus?
“Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”

And what about your stuff?
When Jesus asks you to give it all away, would you go away very sad because you have “great possessions”?
Enter, the most foreign term to Americans—REFUGEE.

Jesus asked a rich, eager, influential, young man to voluntarily give it all away, and follow Him, if he wanted to complete his goal of entering heaven.
Refugees have to give up everything involuntarily, without choice, without warning, without time, just to maybe save their lives.
Could that happen to Americans?
Could that happen to American Christians?
Could that determine who are true Christians—who do not just say, “Lord, Lord”?

Can we prepare to be refugees, in America?
Should we prepare to be refugees?
There is no other “America” for American refugees to flee to.

So what are Christians supposed to do, now, and when crisis comes here?
Answer: Get closer to Jesus, for real, and start listening and following exactly what His Book tells us, even what is contrary to American culture and American finance.
And that may call for very drastic, practical changes in our daily lives, before such changes are thrust upon us by others.

“We are strangers and pilgrims in this world.”
“Do not love the world, or the things in the world.”
“Set your affections on things above, not on things on the earth.”

This world is not my home,
I’m just a passing through.
My treasures are laid up
Somewhere beyond the blue.

The angels beckon me
From heaven’s open door;
And I won’t feel at home
In this world anymore.

The more you feel at home in this world, the less likely you would feel at home in heaven.
If you want to change that, read more here; but especially read more in His Book—it will make a difference in the parts that are for keeps, starting now.

*If the enemy of our souls, the devil, has not tried to attack you lately, perhaps it is because he does not need to.

GOD – – – WHAT’S IT TO YOU ?

First of all, that question is not addressed to God.
Actually, it is to all the people who sincerely are not happy with God, for lots of reasons.
Change “it” to “God” in the question—perhaps with a little “g”—so everyone can be honest.
So, I’m asking, “What is god to you?”

Answers:
“If I was god, I would . . . “
“If god was good, he would . . . “
“If god was just, he would . . . the bad people.”
“If god was nice, he would . . . for me.”
“If god was strong, he would fix . . . “
“Why doesn’t god do something about . . . ?“
“Why does god allow . . . ?“
“Why me, god . . . ?“
“Why, god . . . ?“
“I don’t believe in god, because . . . “
“There is no god, and I hate him, because . . . “
“If god was real, . . . “

I’m curious if anyone felt a bit strange reading this so far with a small “g” for god.
If you have a serious beef with God, then “god” should make you more comfortable.
Just checking.

Let’s start with this, if you question God’s existence:
Think about this, honestly, “There is no God”—is that a fact, or a decision that you have come to, based on your experiences and thinking?
If it is a fact that there is no God, then that would have to be a fact for everyone—it would have to be true for everyone.
God cannot exist for some people, and not for you.

Now, a small “g” god is a different story.
We have a lot more options.
Every one of us can choose, and decide, and live according to what we want god to be, or not to be.
However, every one of the dozen sample answers above has a hint of something greater than ourselves, someone greater than our imaginations, that is behind everything we see and everything we cannot see.
It does take a decision to choose to deny that—and a considerable amount of effort and energy.

GOD – – – WHAT’S “IT” TO YOU?
Are you okay referring to god as “it”?
What is your god to you?
What is your idea of god?
If we have the freedom to ask and answer these questions, then billions of other people have the freedom to come up with billions of answers, and billions of different gods.
Precisely—the human record of invented religions.

And that brings up another reality.
Man not only has the freedom to invent gods—he has the need to invent gods.
If you think that does not apply to you—that you have no need of any god crutch or religion crutch—then re-read the above when circumstances bring you to the end of your rope, or to the end of your life.

Reality here may not bring all of us together on the same page, but reality hereafter does.

There is a saying that life is a buffet, but when we die, we find that there were only two choices on the menu.
And we find out if we made the right choice—God, or god.

The by-line for AWordforThought.com is “Making a Difference In Your Life In The Parts That Are For Keeps.”
This article is not merely a mental exercise for intellectual debate.
But I will use words and reasoning to persuade you with truth.

If there is God (not a god), then:

+We are not God.
+He is in charge.
+He made everything.
+He made us, kind of like Him.
+He made us with choices.
+He made us accountable to Him.
+He watched us make wrong choices.
+He decided proper punishment.
+He provided a Substitute for us, for that.
+He gives us a second chance, to make a second choice.
+He is waiting, now, for us, for you, to accept His offer.
+He will set the record straight, for all the questions above.
+And (I could have said this at the beginning), He has communicated in writing everything we need to know about Him and history and His plans for the future.

The four big questions, that cover all of our questions:

HOW DID IT GET STARTED?
“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”
“And God made man in His own image.”

HOW DID IT GET MESSED UP?
“And the serpent (devil) said, ‘Did God really say you shall not eat?’”
“And the woman ate, and her husband ate.”

HOW DID IT GET FIXED?
“God so loved the world that He gave His only Son; that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

HOW DOES IT END?
“I go to prepare a place for you. And I will come again and take you to myself; that where I am, there you may be also.”
“The thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy. I came that you may have life, and have it more abundantly.” —–Jesus

Choose life, my friend.
See you there.

GOTCHA COVERED – – – 2016 ELECTION SEASON

Coverage of the 2016 election season has the American media and the American people saturated.

I must say understandably so, because America’s very existence hinges in large part on this election.

But what is not covered is this—the all-consuming election coverage is providing continuous cover for BHOB* and company to proceed with their agenda unnoticed and uncontested.

Americans are lulled into thinking BHOB* is on the way out, and once again counting on grand promises for change.

*BHOB—Barack Hussein OBama—Say BHHHOB aloud and it sounds like the warning for Christians in the 2008 election: “Beware of sheep’s clothing.”

REVOLUTIONARY WAR – – – THEN AND NOW

How many Americans understand the cost of choosing freedom—and the price of choosing slavery to government promises?

A friend responded:

“The same government that abolished slavery now mandates it.”

We are in a war, against our government.

TOUGH TIMES ?

Live is tough.

He is tougher.

Maybe relief here—

Maybe not.

“It will be worth it all,

When we see Jesus.”

I hope you have that hope.

GUN CONTROL – – – WHAT’S NEXT ?

It is obvious that each new law for gun control does not reduce or prevent crimes committed by bad people with guns.

Likewise BHOB* knows that his recent executive orders will not stop criminals and terrorists from shooting people.

And, this is by design.

BHOB*’s intent is not to solve the problem of violence involving guns.

As soon as the next shooting makes the news, he will cry to add more restrictions to the Second Amendment.

And this incremental intrusion against our rights will continue until most Americans have no guns, and the tyranny is total.

Then there will be no hesitation to shoot out or burn out all resistance.

There will be no more standoffs—just annihilations.
