“MURDER FOR PAY”—PAY FOR MURDER

In the 340 years of slavery in America, an average of 80 blacks per day became slaves.
This country paid dearly for that, in the Civil War.
As many as 800,000 Americans died.

Today in America an average of 800 blacks per day are murdered.
This country is about to pay dearly for that, in the coming civil conflict between life and death, good and evil, right and left, Christ-followers and Christ-haters.

Rephrasing Abraham Lincoln’s speech from 1858, for today, after Roe was struck down:
“‘A house divided against itself cannot stand.
I believe this government cannot endure, permanently half death and half life.”

Read “HALF SLAVE, HALF FREE” – – – HALF DEATH, HALF LIFE ? on this website, posted the day after Roe was overturned.

CHRISTIANS AGREE ?

How to get to heaven ?—that’s ‘all cut and dried’ ?

How do we get to heaven ?—Yes, that is indeed all cut and dried—all who want to be Christians must agree on this:
+ Admit you’re a sinner.
+ Believe Jesus died for you, to pay for your sins.
+ Ask Jesus to be in charge of all of your life.

That’s how we get to go to heaven.

Now, just how and when will we go to heaven ?
Well, Christians obviously don’t agree on this.
So, what do we do about that ?

– – –

++ Don’t get hung up on differences over the end-time time-line.
++ Don’t ever let proving interpretations overshadow sharing salvation.

CROSSROADS – – – FOR AMERICANS, FOR CHRISTIANS

CROSSROADS FOR AMERICANS

Every American must recognize and come to grips with what is coming, with what is here now.
Life as we know it, and enjoy it, will not continue if we just wait and see what happens as long as we can go to work another day.
Every American must personally return to what made America great—God, Freedom, The Constitution—and publicly defend and vote for those things.

CROSSROADS FOR CHRISTIANS

Every Christian must understand that compatibility with American culture is canceled.
Now it is time to be different for following Jesus, with a cost.
Every Christian must humbly pray for personal revival—soul-searching for change in my life—then demonstrate what Jesus means, in all my relationships and actions.

THANK YOU, MILITARY

I watched and listened to Trump speaking at the Conservative Political Action Conference this week.
He gave extended tribute to the United States military, and gave hope in the most convincing words.

I live close to Ft. Hood in Central Texas.
Army helicopters fly over every day—I stop to thank God and pray for them.
The Temple airport is about ten miles away, and the helicopters use it all the time.

I had a dramatic, emotional moment 34 years ago, at the end of a memorable ten-day canoe trip, 110 miles on the Wilderness Waterway through Everglades National Park, with my eleven-year-old son and two friends.
After no human contact the whole time, within hours of the end of our trip, we expected to find a road with our vehicle parked to take us home.
We were paddling silently along a ‘river’, a wide waterway with no current, when helicopters suddenly appeared overhead, seemingly out of nowhere.
I felt what it must have been like for our honorable armed forces to experience that in the jungle waterways of Vietnam.
And appreciation grew even more.

THANK YOU, MILITARY ! ! !

WHEN REALITY DOESN’T MAKE SENSE

Some thoughts from and inspired by
Peter Rosenberger – “Hope For The Family Caregiver” on afr.net
He knows whereof he speaks—caregiver for his wife for decades.
– – –
“Confusing the American dream with the Christian life.”

Peter says when his wife Gracie enters a room, she immediately creates a theological conversation, without even saying a word.
She doesn’t have to offer a profound explanation for the will of God.

“Something beautiful, something good;
All my confusion He understood.
All I had to offer Him
Was loneliness and strife,
But He made something beautiful
Of my life.”

How to trust Him.

Can I trust Him.

How do I know I can trust Him . . .

“His scars make it possible to trust Him with my scars.”

GET THE BIBLE OVER WITH FIRST, THEN . . .

Observing Christian financial advice for many decades, some things become clear to me, as they were clear to Daddy over half a century ago, for the rest of his life.
I see a pattern of sharing solid, Biblical principles and verses first, like a tithe of time to God’s Word.
Then it seems business as usual, advising to make more money – – – according to . . . ?
. . . mostly according to the principles of the American economy, not so much the blanket warnings of Jesus about our money telling where our heart is.
– – –
The counsel seems to say that His words, “Where your treasure is, your heart will be also”, do not apply if we keep our heart in the right place, no matter how much money we have stashed “for many years”, and seeking more.

– – –

Does ‘sacrifice’ enter the conversations/advice about money, with those who have considerable amounts of it ?*
Is it not true that those who have much money can be most readily advised how to make more ?
– – –
How much do we need ?
The people who have a lot, talk and live like they need a lot for ‘someday’.
“Do you need this saved money to live on, or just want to see it grow?” (Many times the answer is no—don’t need it to live on.)
What about giving it away ?

– – –

Back to the word ‘sacrifice’.*
What about giving it away—WHETHER YOU HAVE A LOT OR A LITTLE ?

“If you are not generous in giving when you have little, it is doubtful that you will be generous when you have much.”—–Larry Burkett

“He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much; and he who is unjust in what is least is unjust also in much. No servant can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.”—–Jesus

SACRIFICED LATELY ?

CONDUIT OR CONTAINER

CONDUIT—something flows through, empties out the other end—the part inside the conduit is moving on—the only reason for a bigger conduit is to send more out the other end.

CONTAINER—something flows in only—something is taken out when needed, if needed—gas tank holds something to be used routinely by the one who put it in—a bigger container runs the risk of the contents getting unusable, going bad.

– – –

+ Gas tank—daily filling, daily using
+ Grasshopper—seasonally filling storage, seasonally emptying
+ In and out for known routines of life
+ Not for fear of unknowns
– – –
‘What ifs’ of life are not a concern for birds and flowers—we are way more valuable, so we should be as unconcerned as they, according to Jesus’ commands.

All the ‘buts’ and ‘fears’ of life (more in modern days) must not override Jesus’ words, “trust, don’t worry” and “take no thought”.

Is it possible to take His words, His commands, literally, or do we have to add (such is the plague of history, of Christians).

– – –

CONDUIT—How do we live to be a conduit for God’s blessings to flow through us to others in need, not stored up for ourselves ?
“Do good, be rich in good works, ready to give, willing to share, storing up for ourselves a good foundation for the time to come, that we may lay hold on eternal life.”

CONTAINER—How do we fall into danger of being a container to store up more for ourselves, where bigger is better ?
“Those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition.”

REVIEWS ON RETIREMENT

PERSPECTIVES

Ask yourself,
“What am I currently sacrificing, doing without, to put money away for myself, for someday ?”

Imagine* spending a day with a Christian going through intense persecution—threatened, arrested, church burned, house burned, spouse killed, hiding, hungry, children hungry—and you could help.
– – –
After spending the day with a persecuted fellow family member, you might consider this,
“Jesus, tell me if You want me to help them, now—and sacrifice something for myself.”

“Whatever you do for the least of these, my brothers, you do it for Me.”—–Jesus

“Remember the prisoners as if chained with them—those who are mistreated—since you yourselves are in the body also.”—–His Book

How do we do that ?
+ Pray for them—their plea is to not be forgotten.
+ Give to meet their needs, their family’s needs, now.
– – –
+ + Their real needs, part of my real family, real suffering, NOW !
+ + My wishes, my possible needs, my comfort, ‘SOMEDAY’ ?
