Prayer requests—who are they for ?

Prayer requests—how do you do that ?

Prayer requests—do they work ?

You may have heard something on radio or tv or from a church, inviting anyone to send in prayer requests–and they promise their prayer team will pray over your requests.
You may take that seriously, maybe not.
You may never have sent in your own prayer requests.

Asking someone you don’t know to pray for you is great, if their ministry is Biblical, and if the offer to pray for you is never associated with giving money.

Bring your prayer requests—your honest needs—down to a personal level, and people you have a personal relationship with.
Broadcasting your prayer requests on social media is definitely not where it’s at spiritually (danger of “casting your pearls before swine”).
Meaningful personal relationships with individuals you trust, are not built on line.

A good foundation for building a prayer partner connection, a prayer warrior, is praying together, in person.
That is the spiritual version of building any personal relationship connection—time together, in person.
THEN, sharing everyday stuff, highs and lows, and prayer requests right away when you need help—then you can use the phone to talk or text these personal items with that special friend.
I caution against sending group text prayer requests, except in emergency.

By the way, “Prayer requests—do they work ?”
YES ! YES ! YES !

Don’t miss out on the blessings of having a trusted person who prays for you, for anything, any time.
Can we admit our deepest needs, even our weaknesses, to another believer ? Yes, indeed !
Reluctance to ask someone for specific prayer for specific needs, thinking I should handle this myself, likely also means a reluctance to ask God .

“Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.”

Maybe not nationwide, but you can ‘make a difference in someone’s life, in the parts that are for keeps.’ That is A ! ! !

Talk about something basic, something creative, something Godly, something Biblical, something that you could do in your community—A

What worked before— just ask anyone over 50 or 60. A
What worked before—every high school had unlocked pickups with guns in the rack, with no school shootings, with God and Bible and Ten Commandments and Prayer in school. A

God is bound by our silence and caution.

The opposite of bold is coward.
The first in the Revelation 21 list of eight who practice evil, headed to the lake of fire, is cowards.

RAPTURE

“The Great Escape before The Great Tribulation”

Instead of comforting, there is something theologically scary about that repeated statement.
Fear of tribulation as motive to trust in Jesus surpassed fear of hell—stated clearly by not mentioning hell over tribulation.

Often repeated logic concludes rapture before Tribulation, because church is not mentioned after the first three chapters of Revelation, when the horrors are described in detail.

Likewise using logic, why should Christians read a significant part of the Bible that does not apply to us because we won’t be here ?
Every time someone offered to voluntarily address that question, the answer was a lame non-answer, with a rush back to more familiar territory, very much like the pattern of seasoned politicians.

TRANS PORN

Consider this:
In a Bible study with men, I recall hearing this:
“If you have a problem that may be a potential addiction, then you should take steps to deal with it and get help.”

Somewhere behind that comment is a subtle, underlying idea that it doesn’t apply to the person saying it.
Test question, “Do you have problem, thinking a little won’t hurt, won’t affect you, because you don’t have an addiction?”
With secret, subconscious reasoning (not good reasoning), people talk themselves into ‘just a little’, saying it’s not as bad as . . .

But I didn’t say anything, because . . .
A guy talking straight about sex temptations, pornography, ‘transgender’ fantasies—will be judged, labeled with a ‘problem’.

Everything these days is couched in newscast-approved language, so nobody talks about this big problem honestly.
IDENTIFY AS FEMALE* is the universal scam from the evil one, the father of lies.
It is a lie, even when unspoken, and re-broadcast thousands of times to give legitimacy to indulging sexual fantasies in real life, or unlimited freedom with thoughts.
And every time it is mentioned, and promoted, and mandated, and then reported—male ‘identifying as female’ can use girls’ bathrooms, locker rooms, showers—that is TRANS PORN (‘transgender’ pornography)—overnight proliferation of fantasies by anyone allowing thoughts in the mind without pictures.
One more domino fallen, in the culture gone over the cliff—no logic, no common sense, no restraint.

With some addictions, the offending problem must be modified, controlled.
With some addictions, the offending problem must be eliminated, zero tolerance.
The big issue is identifying which of the two categories you’re dealing with, honestly.

“Abstain from every appearance of evil.”

*IDENTIFY AS FEMALE is just a clever ticket to sin of choice, and it abandons the fractional percentage of people with legitimate gender struggles, who need honest help, not the tsunami of devastation pursued and pushed nowadays.

The question is more often a matter of willingness to do what God has already made clear.

When you wonder if you should really do what God put in your mind, consider this:
— Asking God again if He wants you to do something, can easily be back-talking to God.
— Delayed obedience is disobedience.
— Reviewing your undivided time alone with God today—that is your greatest confirmation to know what He wants you to do.
— Doing is the most powerful reinforcement for confidence, psychologically and spiritually.

THE BIG ONE – – – WHEN ?

How much more precarious does the United States need to become, for our numerous enemies to capitalize on the perfect storm to seriously hurt America—bring us down ?

The options for the most devastating terrorist attack imaginable (unimaginable)—THE BIG ONE—could include a single bad actor, or a combination of all the methods by all the enemies coordinated at one time, in one day.

It’s hard to believe they could be so organized and self-controlled to delay any further.
But I acknowledge that conditions keep getting more favorable by the day, for our enemies to keep their powder dry a little longer.
Maybe they think waiting will make their job that much easier, as America gets that much weaker.

One observation—there does not seem to be any strengthening of our readiness to prevent or deal with the impending attack.

MORE CHRISTIANS ?

QUESTION:

A – Were there more Christians in ‘Christian America’ ?

B – Are there more Christians in ‘Post-Christian America’ ?

C – Will there be more Christians in ‘Anti-Christian America’ ?

ANSWER:

If you go back a couple centuries, after the Great Awakenings, the answer is ‘A’.

If you go back less than a century, after prosperity led to comfort and materialism, the answer is ‘C’.

America experienced profound Christian growth when God blessed our publicly stated trust and dependence on Him, from the beginning, and in crises.

In the last half of the twentieth century, and now, we have pushed “In God We Trust” to past tense—“In God We Trusted”—even trying to erase that from our history.

“God Bless America” is no longer our national prayer—and likewise past tense—“God Blessed America”—even ashamed of that from our history.

How do we take a census to count the number of Christians in America, in the past, in the present, in the future (or anywhere) ?

How does God take the same census ?

God does not count the numbers, until He counts the commitment.
God counts our suffering, even if He has to send it, to count our name on His list.
