TEA PARTY SECOND AMENDMENT RALLY

“Howdy.

I’m proud to be an American.

I’m proud to be a Texan.

Something about being a Texan—I was saying ‘Howdy’ for decades before my kids went to Texas A & M.

I am thankful to live in a country that acknowledges our rights come from God, and says so in our Constitution, and then proceeds to list them in the Constitution.  And that’s why we are here today.

I sincerely appreciate everything going on here today.

We now face things we have never faced before.  And we are about to face unthinkable things we have never faced before.

We must now do what we have never done before.  We must do some things we are currently not doing.  It will not be easy or comfortable.

I write about this at     AWordforThought.com     AWordforThought.com

If you have some Christian friends who happen to be squeamish about civil disobedience, consider this:  It is pleasing to God to obey the government established by our Constitution, because it was based on principles from the Bible.  It is not pleasing to God to obey the leadership currently in charge in this country because it is unconstitutional.

I believe that Texas and Texans have a greater responsibility than we realize to be the last bastion of freedom in the world.

I would rather die fighting for The Republic of Texas than helplessly watch The United States of America surrender to Islam.

We need a Boston Tea Party as a catalyst to fight for our freedom again.

‘Remember the Alamo’ was such a catalyst.  It worked to inspire our fight for freedom.

Thank You.

God Bless.”

I shared the above yesterday at the Bell County Tea Party Second Amendment Rally at Confederate Park in Belton, Texas.  The entire event was excellent—six hours.

In the Mexican Revolution that started 1910, one of the great military and folk heroes is Emiliano Zapata, whose trademark saying was, “It’s better to die on your feet than to live on your knees.”
When President [Francisco] Madero naively asked him to disarm and demobilize, because it would aid the revolutionary cause and set preconditions for peace, Zapata responded that if the people could not win their rights when they were armed, they would have no chance once they were unarmed and helpless.
The Hollywood movie version [“Viva Zapata!” (1952)] stars Marlon Brando as Zapata. It depicts a supposed conversation between Zapata and Madero. Zapata asks Madero for his wallet and Madero refuses. Zapata then sticks a gun in his chest and says ‘Give me your wallet’ and Madero starts to comply. Zapata stops him, moves his weapon away, and explains his symbolic gesture: [and I paraphrase] ‘That’s why the people must not give up their arms—so that they cannot be robbed at gunpoint, either by local petty criminals or by corrupt officials, military or police.’ For more of my remarks presented at the “Day of Resistance” Rally in Confederate Park, Belton, TX on February 23, 2013–write me at Wes@WesRiddle.com.

      Thanks, Wes.
I’ll be getting the rest of your speech from the rally.
Truth is Truth—It is never dependent on popular demand.
      God Bless You.
      God Bless America.
      God Bless Texas.

Glad to see that there was only One pacifist Christian there …

      Appreciate your response.
Actually the first person I met at the rally was the gentleman you referred to.
We talked for about 20 minutes. First thing he asked was if I was pro-gun, and when I said yes, he tried to give back my card about this blog, then said he would throw it in the trash. We got past that and had a meaningful conversation.
I believe the same Bible that he read to me aloud. I told him that it is incorrect to say that Jesus was non-violent.
Here is something else from Jesus that I did not think to share with him, but he voluntarily said he would look at my blog, so he may read this. If he sends me a respectable comment, I will share it.

Jesus said, “How can one enter into a strong man’s house, and spoil his goods [and I add, his family], unless he first bind the strong man [and I add, kill him]? And then he will spoil his house.”

Jesus also said something else, without explanation, “He who has no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.”
To which his disciples said, “Lord, here are two swords.”
Then Jesus said, “It is enough.”
