FEELING BETTER

Working on something I can do makes me feel better than talking about something I can’t do.

AMERICANS FIRST – – – CHRISTIANS SECOND

Some Christians in America are still somewhat “vexed with the filthy conversation of Sodom,” like righteous Lot, before God turned his home town and his home to ashes.

But Christians in America sure do like the money—the whole financial system—the good life America offers.

Lot first “pitched his tent toward Sodom,” by choice.  He decided to participate in part by moving to the ungodly city.

When it finally came time for God to toast the town, in spite of Abraham’s prayers in behalf of the righteous minority, it was too much to ask Lot’s wife to walk away without looking back.

Fact is, Christians in America are very unlikely to walk away from all that has their heart strings tied up here because their purse strings are tied up here.

Fact is, Christians in America can make money here like never before, and they have to stick with it to reap the lifelong reward—the ultimate benefit of retirement.

For Christians in America, what does “get out of Sodom” mean today, before she goes up in smoke?

If you look to the mainstream of what is called Christianity in America today, you will sincerely believe you can have both—God’s favor and a favorable portfolio of treasure laid up here.

I suppose there is a remnant of God’s people in America today that “have not bowed the knee to Baal,” like there was in Elijah’s day, when faithfulness to God appeared slim to none.

If you really want to follow the narrow way of Jesus’ call, seek out Christians who have literally laid up their treasures in heaven, and follow their example, now.

If you can’t find Christians who have their treasures laid up in heaven, start doing so now yourself, so you can be someone for others to follow.

If you wonder what that means specifically, pray and ask this question about everything concerning your money and your heart, “Will it go up in smoke?”
