Making a Difference in your Life, in the Parts that are for Keeps!
The April 11 comments on PASSION were too sacred and so heartfelt American, that it was not fitting to include the following at the same time:
“The crash of 1929 and the Great Depression will seem like a rippling brook compared to the coming economic collapse, which will be like the roar of Niagara Falls.”
—over fifty years ago, I remember my dad frequently quoting someone who said this
Rights given by God are always right.
“Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain that build it.
Unless the Lord keeps the city, the watchman stays awake in vain.”
—His Book (Psalm 127:1)
I need an alarm clock that explains the reason for all the noise and tells me what I’m supposed to do about it. There has to be something to coordinate the waking of the brain and the body, or else nothing happens.
About fifty years ago my father was talking with a neighbor about the troubled times in America and how we had turned away from things good and Godly.
The neighbor responded, trying to brush aside my father’s concerns, by saying, “Oh, I think it will all come out in the wash.”
On the spot, my dad gave a very telling answer:
“Yes, and so it did in Noah’s day.”
PASSION – – – PATH TO THE PRESIDENCY
PASSION – – – PATH TO GREATNESS
The candidate for President of the United States of America must have passion for this country and for all the good it stands for, and he must articulate that passion and ignite that passion in the good people who believe in this country. Real Americans still rally around the stuff that made America great.
If you have that passion, you will articulate it—you have to, automatically—and people will follow.
If you don’t have that passion, you can’t articulate it—you can’t fake it—and people will not follow.
Ronald Reagan had the passion to bring America back.
George H. W. Bush did not have that passion in his re-election campaign.
George W. Bush had it.
John McCain did not have it.
Sarah Palin has it.
Mitt Romney does not have it.
Rick Santorum has it.
You can talk about economics at home and foreign policy abroad, but the deeper values of life and family and faith in God always matter more.
A great economy does not make America great. Our great foundation made US great, and produced a great economy.
America’s road back to greatness will not be through the economy.
America’s return to greatness will only be through a return to our roots, with passion.
(And I feel like saying “Amen,” because I have that passion)
God does not depend on perfect people to perform His perfect plan in families. (Inspired by guest on James Dobson’s “Family Talk.”)
We’re open for improvement—His plan is not.
The United States of America has been blessed with ten generations that knew the meaning of sacrifice—that knew the price of freedom—that maintained eternal vigilance—that passed on the meaning of “a moral people”—that turned and returned to God in crisis and in prosperity—that never forgot where we came from and why we are here—that believed we are exceptional because we are founded on the Bible—that believed we are called by God to be a bastion of freedom against worlds of evil—that believed every American must fight for family and freedom—that understood the people’s government is good when the people are good.
The United States of America is “up by ten” because ten generations have maintained our heritage.
When one generation fails to pass on the torch of freedom to the next, that freedom and all its blessings vanish.
We are living in that generation now, and the USA—up by ten—is losing.
2008
—“Get involved”
—“Get informed”
That was good, but it didn’t answer the question, “What can we do?”
2010
—“Get involved”
—“Get informed”
—“Change Congress”
It worked, but it reached only one third of the goal, the House of Representatives.
2012
—“Change the Senate”
—“Change the Administration”
Or else.
Or else this country will operate no differently than other countries in turmoil that we see on the news.
This election is the last chance for the democratic process to work in the United States of America.
