LOVE PRAYER

MY PRAYER TODAY 3-10-12 (very personal, hopefully inspiring to someone)

Lord, I deeply desire the very best You wish to give me. I want to live at the top of the life You have planned.

There are times You give me eloquence and lofty insight; sometimes You even let me sing loudly and boldly. But please don’t let me miss loving, or else I am just so much noise.

Lord, I have seen You work in my life; I have experienced supernatural living, and understanding which could only come from You. I have seen You move mountains; I have moved mountains because I believe in You. I can do anything through You. And—You have taught me how to love. Thank You. I humbly beg of You to let me love again. Without Your love in me and through me, all this other high and mighty stuff is nothing.

You have led me to care about people in all kinds of need, and You have arranged my life to be available to help in unusual times and circumstances. Often the rest of my personal life looks like a wreck—worthless. Is that intentional, Lord, so You can teach me to love?

Did You really say I should suffer long, silently, and still be kind? Is that what love is? Can Your love teach me to not think about how much more other people have—including how much more they think I should have? Lord, with love, let me not be a brag or brash or have to be right.

Let love so fill me that there will be nothing inappropriate in my life, seen or unseen. May love direct me to the welfare of others, not my own. With Your love in me, help me rise above the aggravations of others and the evils all around trying to occupy my thoughts.

With love I do not delight in sin, or wrongs done to me, or gossip. I think and get excited about the truth. Love filters out bad stuff, and lets only good enter the mind. (I use this list for testing thoughts—true, honest, promote justice, pure, lovely, produce a good report card, inspire virtue, worthy of praise.)

Lord, help me love enough to carry someone’s burdens.
Lord, help me love enough to believe in someone through tough times.
Lord, help me love enough to keep hope alive, for my life and for someone else.
Lord, help me love enough to hang in there when my strength is gone, but Yours is not.

I see a lot of things fail. Lord, thank You for showing me love, and giving me love, that does not fail. Everything else will disappear—explaining things, speaking of supernatural, understanding mysteries—it will all be gone.
Lord, thank You that I do not have to know it all, to love.

A few side notes, to put love in perspective:

I know and understand some things now—but it is so incomplete.
I can even explain some things now, for others’ benefit—but it is so incomplete.
Someday, Someone is coming—“incomplete” will be history.
I can see progress from my childhood to adulthood—in my speaking, in my understanding, in my thinking—thank God I grew up.

Likewise, imagine the difference between now and heaven:
Life is a smudgy mirror—we can’t even get an accurate view of ourselves.
In heaven, we’ll see Jesus, face to face, and we’ll look like Him, just like we’re supposed to. PERFECT LOVE—PERFECT MIRROR.
And our thinking will be perfect too. We’ll think like God. Imagine that.

FAITH really matters now, FAITH to get us through this life, FAITH to do great and small things for God and others, FAITH to get us to heaven, believing in the blood of Jesus.
HOPE really matters now, HOPE to keep us going, HOPE to keep our eyes on the prize ahead.
LOVE really matters now, to show the LOVE of Jesus in our life. His LOVE alone makes our LOVE count.

So, we need faith and hope and love now.
But only one is the greatest, even now.
And only one will be in heaven.

L O V E

Lord, thank You for loving me, thank You for teaching me how to love, and thank You for the blessed opportunity to love. I humbly ask You to let me love again. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

If you like, you can see this is a phrase by phrase parallel with I Corinthians 12:31-13:13 from His Book.

(No blog tomorrow—A personal day of memory for me)

BHOB BELIEVES . . .

BHOB* does not believe in his policies for a minute, as some say—“giving him the benefit of the doubt,” that “he means well,” that “he is doing what he thinks is best for America.” Likewise, the best interpretation of his speeches starts with—he doesn’t mean a word he says and he doesn’t believe a word he says. His policies and his speeches are simply a means to an end—to prepare for surrender to the Muslims.

For starters:

01) Intentionally saving U S energy for Muslim use when we surrender.

02) Apologizing for America to the Muslims. Apologizing to enemies equals surrender.

03) Telling the Muslims we are no longer a Christian nation, and acting accordingly in domestic policies—as in Obamacare and Ramadon. Publicly surrendering our nation’s foundation equals surrendering our nation, leaving a vacuum that will be filled by default.

04) Turning a cold shoulder on Israel while giving Muslim countries a pass. Betray our allies, and we will soon surrender to our enemies.

05) Bowing down to Muslim leaders. How much closer can you get to surrender!

06) Leaving open doors for Muslim terrorist infiltration into America. This perfectly paves the way for the next coordinated attack, quickly crippling America to the point of surrender.

07) Ongoing policies and continual speeches about redistribution, to breed class warfare. This maintains the perfect distraction to keep people occupied with unrest, while the foundations for surrender are set—unnoticed until it is too late.

08) Racing headlong over the debt cliff. There is no other explanation than an orchestrated effort to economic surrender as quickly as possible.

09) Reducing our national defense, and broadcasting it to the world. This is probably the most obvious prelude to surrender.

America’s Muslim enemies will take advantage of our intentionally weakened state.

With these policies, forced surrender is inevitable—voluntary surrender is insane.

USA—AT THE CROSSROADS

USA—AT THE CROSSROADS (written 12-5-11)

be history——or make history
demise——or survive
throw away——or thrive
fade——or flourish

Not graphic enough, not shocking enough, bigger than the above, more at stake, much more required of US.

America, the USA, is now at a crossroads we have never faced before, and the choice is not even clear to most Americans. We are not at a “Y” in the road, with two gently diverging options, like just so many elections we’ve seen come and go in 236 years. No, we are at a “T” in the road, with two direct opposite paths 180 degrees apart. (A “T” in the road requires stopping, before you make a choice)

So, here are the crossroads options for the USA, in graphic contrast——

S U I C I D E – – – or – – – R E V I V A L

Please think about that for a moment before you read on.

For a decade I have been saying there is a death wish in Washington. It seems like caring about the real America is replaced by everything that’s bad for America, and more and more it seems intentional. I also saw the day was coming soon when the remaining restraints would be gone—the restraints holding back the euthanasia of America.

Legal euthanasia in medicine is debated, speculated, experimented, and becomes reality. Likewise, in Washington, the election of 2008 brought that about for the country. The death wish is now turned into the intentional, legal suicide of America.

“Changing America” won an election which may well be marked a point of no return. More and more credence is given to talk of fundamentally changing America, of doing away with capitalism, endorsing socialism, apologizing to our enemies, abandoning our heritage, and “choice” to continue the American Holocaust—the killing of babies and now even the killing of the family.

And how did we come to the point of relentlessly ridding God from all public life? Who let that happen? The Christian churches are almost unanimously silent about what is happening to our country at a rate that rivals blitzkrieg. That’s not how we got started, and that’s not how we will save our country.

The Black Robed Regiment led the American Revolution, by inspiring US with Biblical truths of life, freedom, capitalism, God-pleasing and God-inspired government. That was Sunday morning. Sunday afternoon they applied their sermons by leading militia training. Thank God we didn’t have the courts and cowards we have today.

These preachers were feared most by King George, because he could not defeat them, and that is why we won, with God’s blessing. And that’s not all.

Decades before the Revolution, we had an enduring revival called a Great Awakening. And that’s not all.

Decades before the end of slavery, we had an enduring revival called a Great Awakening. And that’s not all.

Decades before winning the World Wars, we had an enduring revival called a Great Awakening. IS THAT ALL?

Many of God’s people are praying right now for an enduring revival.

God, wake us up.

God, wake me up. In the name of Jesus, Amen.

HIDDEN CHALLENGES FOR THE VERY SMART AND SUCCESSFUL

(And my challenge as a writer is to shorten that title)

By definition, the very smart generally use their brain and their knowledge to figure out everything and calculate solutions, for themselves and others. Here is advice I gave to my son and daughter-in-law:

Four things your children need to see you doing every day (or at least become aware that you are doing every day).

One—Laughing heartily, spontaneously, along with being silly and just having fun. If we don’t act crazy sometimes, we all go crazy, regardless of our IQ.

Two—Reading your Bible

Three—Praying. Children seeing parents on their knees has greater lifelong impact than anything else in their life.

Four—Showing lavish affection on each other and on the children. Talk about security!

WHAT ARE THE ODDS ?

If the Bible gives so many warnings about the dangers of going after money, why do so many Christians spend a lifetime trying to beat the odds?

SIMPLE BASICS for THE FAMILY

In marriage, mutual exclusivity is vital.
In marriage, mutual excusivity is fatal.
In marriage, mutual accountability is healthy.
Mutual submission is an oxymoron.

O W S

I would like to share the following with the Occupy Wall Street folks:

I believe the wealthy should share their money with the rest of us. Here’s how I propose it be done.

1. They have money.
2. I need money.
3. They need some work done.
4. I do the work for them.
5. They pay me money.
6. We’re both happy—their work is done, and I have money to buy food and pay my bills.
7. The process works smoothly, over and over, and it’s beautiful.
8. The government didn’t have to crook a finger—as in, steal our money, give it to people who don’t work, and waste half of it in the process.
9. I guarantee that whenever I work for someone, and they pay me, we’re both going to make sure we don’t waste anything.
