COLD WAR – – – SHOOTING WAR – – – SPIRITUAL WAR

Cold War is a mind game, guessing if your preparedness is sufficient to deter your enemy from shooting.
The average person hopes your leaders guess correctly, while you live as normal as possible.
– – –
Shooting War is life and death, proving if your preparedness is sufficient to make your enemy stop shooting because they have to.
The average soldier hopes your leaders have the right plan and give the right orders for you to obey.
Life is not normal in war.
– – –
Spiritual War is both Cold War and Shooting War.
The greatest danger in the Spiritual Cold War is comfortable—false security of compatibility with the culture.
The greatest danger in the Spiritual Shooting War is forgetting that we are in it.
– – –
First, it is critical to recognize that we have a mortal enemy intent on our destruction at all times and by all means—the devil.
Second, we must understand that our weapons are not like human weapons of the world, but they have power to defeat the enemy.
As soldiers we don’t have to figure out strategy (advice, answers, solutions) for those fighting beside us.
We have to pass the ammunition—encouragement, Bible verses, testimonies of God’s faithfulness (past, present, future).
We can’t be ignorant of the devil’s tricks—lies, doubt, depression, accusation, isolation.
– – –
“They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimonies.”

“Those who loved the Lord spoke often to one another, and the Lord paid attention and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before Him of those who fear the Lord.”

KEYSTONE XL PIPELINE ? ? ?

The Keystone XL ? ? ?
The Keystone XL has been in the crosshairs of the left from the beginning.

Must—Have To—X the Keystone.
The Keystone XL was killed.

The left’s war on oil ? ? ?
The left’s ‘war on oil’ is not so ! ! !

If leaders on the left were against oil, they would stop using oil.
“War on Oil” is WAR ON AMERICA ! ! !
Not war on oil.

“They’re not coming after me—they’re coming after you [Americans].”
Donald Trump was right.
Trump stood in their way.
Americans stand in their way.

The big hooplah to get rid of Trump in office was/is a 3-ring, 4-ring circus, plus, to consistently distract Americans by a 4-year media blitz, plus, while they work with our enemies to weaken us beyond recovery.

Compare Samson and Trump.
Three times Delilah thought she got the secret of his strength out of Samson.
“The Philistines are coming.”
Three times she failed, in humiliation.
Three times the left tried to take out Trump.
Russia, Russia, Russia, etc.
Three times they failed.

Finally, Delilah got Samson.
“The Philistines are coming.”
Finally, the left is still trying with . . .
But—now—who can tell ?

Evil people are lining up again, relentlessly bent on repeating history, driven by the devil, who seeks to destroy anything of God, especially His people, particularly Christians.

FEAR OF MAN – – – TRUST IN GOD

“Fear of man is a snare.
Whoever trusts in God is safe.”

I’ve been thinking on this verse a lot lately, and getting a lot of benefit applying it all over in my daily life.
– – –
Fear of man includes many things besides concern for our safety.

Fear of how someone could harm me physically.
Fear of how someone could hurt me emotionally.
Fear of my status among internet contacts.
Thinking about what someone said to me.
Thinking about what someone said about me.
Thinking of what others might think about me.
Thinking of what someone might say about me.
Thinking of what I could say when I see someone.
Thinking of what others think of my performance.
Thinking of others (positively) can produce caring for others.
Thinking about others (negatively) can produce anxiety—fear of what might be.
Just as fear drives insurance, fear can drive thoughts in relationships.
– – –
A snare

A snare is a trap that can hurt and kill.
A snare can consume time and energy.
A snare can steal from things that make life worth living.
A snare can keep us focused on less-important and worthless matters.
A snare can produce imaginary traps as harmful as real ones.
A snare can be set by people, intentionally to hurt us—with more waste if we dwell on that.
A snare can be set unintentionally, just because this world is evil and full of land mines.
A snare—scary—fear of man—who can you trust ?
– – –
Whoever trusts in God is safe.

Notice when worthless thoughts come to mind anytime.
Pick a Bible verse to replace the thought every time.
“Be still, and know that I am God.”
“Fear of man is a snare. Whoever trusts in God is safe.”
Get rid of the source of fear and snare.
“The thief (satan) comes to kill, steal, and destroy . . .”
Get close to the source of trust and safety.
“. . . I (Jesus) come to give you life, more abundantly.”
– – –
We have defensive weapons of faith and truth and salvation to protect us from the devil’s attacks, and we have offensive weapons of The Word of God and prayer to cancel the devil’s devices.
USE THEM !

“Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.”

“Through many dangers, toils, and snares
I have already come.
‘Tis grace that brought me safe thus far,
And grace will lead me home.”

“. . . STAYED . . .”

Obviously I’m quoting something, and we don’t usually say “stayed”.
Let me first comment on the most common use of the word “stay”, and then apply the full quotation from the title.

“Stay” is a universal command by dog owners to tell their dogs to stay where they are until instructed otherwise.
And “stay” is universally learned and obeyed by ‘man’s best friend’ because they trust and want to please their master.

The command to stay is in a separate category from the other common words of instruction that are taught to dogs.
Sit, come, fetch, roll over—all involve action on the dog’s part.
Stay—that often calls for something more in the relationship between dog and master, something that may call for long-term obedience, something that may not include understanding why—that calls for trust.
Stay—trust—waiting—doing nothing—focused.

My border collie, Buddy, is close to fourteen (a rescue at one), and in our long time together we’ve grown very close, and continue getting closer.
I appreciate him more, and I thank God for him often, and we understand each other in new ways as we both experience our senior years.

Trust—in Buddy’s younger years trust was demonstrated hundreds of times when I had to leave him at the front gate a quarter mile from the house.
As I got out of my van to open the gate, Buddy was always filled with hope that he might go along to my job.
If I just said the magic word “with” (part of the line “Buddy, want to go with me?”), he exploded and headed for the van door.
But most of the time (and more so now as he is older) I had to tell him, “I have to go, and you have to stay.”
Then, when I got out of my van to close the gate, I told him the same thing again, he accepted it, and I knelt down and hugged him and talked to him with an extended, endearing good-by ritual.

Many times Buddy was sitting at the gate when I came home.
Other times he would recognize the sound of my van half a mile away and meet me at the gate when I drove up.
But the ultimate faithfulness, which breaks my heart, is the report of times that Buddy “stayed” at that gate all day in cold rain, waiting for me.

That I don’t deserve—and it compels me to make it up to him any way I can, greeting him heartily and massaging him just the way he likes.
Buddy’s heart of trust and faithfulness is as strong as ever, but his body is not.
He has to be close to me, and he still gets up and follows me whenever I go to another room or out the door.
He often stands at the door and watches to see where I am going, and accepts my words again, “Buddy, I have to go, and you have to stay.”

Buddy still likes to run, even though his back legs collapse sometimes now from a life-threatening injury years ago, with a miracle recovery, and he joins me if he can when I’m working at the front of our place.
We used to take Buddy lots of places in stores and restaurants as my ‘service dog’, and it hurts now when people ask, “Where’s Buddy?”
One of these days they’ll ask, “Where’s Larry?” (Or maybe they won’t.)
In either case, it moves me to appreciate the blessings of time and strength and work, and dogs—Buddy, Miles, Goodness, and Mercy.

– – –

And now, to apply the quotation from the title of this article—
“You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You . . .”

The capitalized “You” gives it away, that we’re talking about God—stayed on Him, just like my faithful dog, Buddy.
When a devoted dog stays, especially for an extended time, it is much more than obedience—the relationship with the master consumes everything he has to offer.
The same with us and God—obedience is very important, but when He sees our mind focused, stayed, on Him, then He keeps us in perfect peace WHILE WE WAIT, even for an extended time.

Perfect peace—mind stayed on God—stay and wait.
Open your Bible and find a ton of verses on waiting.
Some to get you started:

“Be still, and know that I am God.”

“They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.” (That’s good for youth, middle age, senior, just like Buddy and me.)

“What is required of us . . . to be found faithful.”

“Be faithful unto death, and I will give you a crown of life.”

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart . . .”

In the middle of writing this, Buddy walks in to my office (75 feet from the house), and I greet him enthusiastically and massage him, and he lies down one foot from my chair.
I think that’s what God wants from us, often.

And now, the rest of the verse:
“You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.”

LESSONS FROM A SHEEPDOG—–Phillip Keller (true story)

“. . . EAT AND DRINK WITH YOU . . .”

Consider this mealtime prayer, especially for a family holiday meal.

“Jesus, you said You stand and knock at our door, waiting for us to hear Your voice and open the door—You said You would then come in and eat and drink with us.
So, we hear You knocking and hear Your voice—we open the door—come in, Jesus, eat with us and drink with us. Amen.”

If Jesus knocks at our door, one on one . . .
If we hear His voice, one on one . . .
If we open our door, one on one . . .
If Jesus comes in, one on one . . .
If Jesus eats and drinks with us, one on one . . .
. . . Then most surely Jesus will be included in our conversation with others around the table ! ! !

Everything we talk about, definitely about the meal, and anything else in our lives—Jesus wants to be in all of it.*
Tell the others about things Jesus has done in your life lately—tell about things Jesus has done in your heart lately.
Tell about what Jesus has brought you through—or what He is bringing you through.
You don’t have to wait to share, until everything is taken care of.
You may inspire someone else to do the same.

“In all your ways acknowledge Him . . .”
“. . . and [so] He will direct your paths.”

* If we love Jesus, He pays close attention to all of our conversations—so it’s only natural to include Him in what we say.
“Those who loved the Lord spoke often to one another, AND the Lord hearkened (listened closely) and heard them.”

D E I – – – EXCEPT . . .

A few examples of the ridiculous, to show the hypocrisy of DEI:
Diversity
Equity
Inclusion.

Dominance
Enforcement
Inconsistency

Saturated Publicity – – – brainwash with lies
Selective Application – – – isolate opposition
Subjective Enforcement – – – destroy dissenters

The rule ‘i’ before ‘e’ except after ‘c’ in spelling fits the DEI rules.
Inclusion before Exclusion, except after Christians.

SACRIFICED LATELY ?

Have you sacrificed lately ?
Have you sacrificed ever ?

The following riddle may help to put sacrifice in a new perspective.

What do
+Punishment
+Persecution
+Sacrifice
have in common ?

Wish I could hide the answer while you think about it.
Or I could write some more to give you time.

The answer:
Suffering

+With Punishment you suffer, and it’s your fault.
+With Persecution you suffer, and it’s not your fault.
+With Sacrifice you suffer, and it’s your choice.

So,
Have you sacrificed lately ?
Have you sacrificed ever ?

How about giving ?
Has your giving involved sacrifice ?
Has your giving involved suffering ?

We can give without sacrifice—give what we can spare.
We can’t sacrifice without giving—if it doesn’t hurt, it’s not sacrifice.
– – –
Does this spoil what we’ve always thought about our giving ?
Or does it challenge us to a new experience in giving—for the first time ?
Think for a few minutes about Jesus’ giving to us—His sacrifice for us.

Therefore, can a millionaire sacrifice and remain a millionaire ?
Can I sacrifice and maintain my current standard of living ?

WHICH WILL IT BE ?

Will it be real American leaders, willing to sacrifice for freedom—taking out the tyrants taking us down ?

OR

Will it be Chinese invaders here, now—taking out real American leaders and taking over ?
