We have lost the meaning of “sacrifice” in America.
What must I sacrifice to restore freedom to America?
Will Christians take the lead in “Changing America Back”?
The American church has become so enmeshed with the culture that sacrifice is out of our vocabulary.
The hardest thing for American Christians to sacrifice is their financial security.
That will remain the biggest obstacle to national revival and course correction.
Insurmountable debt,
voluntarily incurred,
never to be repaid,
in a free society . . .
History offers a one-word solution—
TYRANNY
Coming soon to a country near you, and me.
God also offers a one-word solution—
REPENTANCE

Beware of popular preachers.
How in the world can I say that? Many of my favorite speakers and preachers have very big audiences. And they are good. And I like it when my own pastor makes me feel good, sometimes.
Okay, on the other side, do you know a pastor who always speaks powerfully from the Word of God, and yet consistently has a very small following, after a decade or more?
Now, consider all the people in the Bible who were spokesmen for God. How many of them were consistently popular, with large and favorable audiences throughout their ministries? Help me out—I’m struggling to think of a single example.
“Not everyone that says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that does the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Many will say to me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not preached in your name? And in your name have we not cast out devils? And in your name have we not done many wonderful works?’
And then I will profess unto them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you that work iniquity.’ ”
Jesus said that.
And what does it mean to really follow Him, including His unpopular warnings and promises, and the cost?
Beware.
Be careful whom you endorse.
Be careful whose endorsement you seek.
Popular preachers, beware of popularity.
Rather, seek God’s blessing.
Seek to qualify for Jesus’ promises:
“Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are you, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven; for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.”
If we are really following Jesus, why aren’t we persecuted more? Have we come up with a better formula than Jesus’ words?
Wait and see . . .
or
Repent and seek . . .
Any alternative to God’s will is sin.
Any tolerance of any alternative to God’s will is sin.
God’s will is in God’s Word, and it is clear.
Follow it, and stand up for it.
To not speak out against sin, is sin.
“Did God really say, . . . ?”
. —Satan (his first words in the Bible, his most effective line ever since)
“No. My views have evolved, so now I also know better than God.”
. —BHOB* (his answer to the devil, his total defiance of God)
BHOB is an expert in telling his audiences what they want to hear. This includes telling the devil what he wants to hear. And BHOB does have an audience with the devil.

I am compelled to repeat my comment from 4-6-12 (in the light of yesterday’s announcement from the white house resident):
According to Islam, a Muslim who becomes a Christian must be killed.
According to Islam, a Muslim may lie if it advances the cause of Islam.
BHOB* identified as a Muslim when he was in school.
BHOB bows to Muslims and caters to Islam whenever possible.
BHOB occasionally refers to himself as a Christian.
BHOB never faces death threats for saying he is a Christian.
BHOB is living out his Muslim roots, and he is advancing the cause of Islam when he lies that he is a Christian.

If we do not heed the Word of God in a time of plenty,
we will not even find it to hear it in the time of famine.
“Behold, the days come, says the Lord God, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord.”
Now, the rest of the story—as in, what does that look like?
“And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the Word of the Lord, and shall not find it.”
Every country and every civilization in history finds out that God’s Word always has the last word, and the first word, and every word in between. Unfortunately, most people don’t realize that until it is too late. In America, we understood the value of the Bible early on, and this country soared to the top of the charts in world history.
Now what?
Is it possible to have famine in a land of plenty?
Is it possible to suffer from malnutrition while having plenty to eat?
Taking this to the extreme, is it possible to starve even with a full stomach?
My dad often quoted someone who said, “It is not how much you eat that makes you strong; it is how much you properly digest.”
Back to the first question:
Is it possible to have famine in a land of plenty?
Did you ever get so busy, so wrapped up in something, or so worried, that you failed to eat and got sick?
If you ignore your basic needs and basic health, it can kill you.
And now, my point—
“Behold, the days come, says the Lord God, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord.”
Plenty of Bibles, but a famine of “hearing” the Word.
FAMINE IN AMERICA ?
(Inspired by Sandy Rios this morning on AFR Talk.)
What if it should be true for Christians in the American church, that intense persecution will be the key to the fourth great awakening?
There was testimony this morning again that it was true in China in the 20th century. It is also true in the Bible, from the beginning of the Christian church.
American Christianity has been the exception, but not for much longer.
In the light of what is ahead, here is a word for American pastors. If you have reasons not to get involved in politics now, to recapture and preserve our religious freedom, then please start now telling your people what to expect and how to deal with the certainty of coming persecution.
As I’ve said before, one of my greatest concerns is that most Christians in this country won’t understand what hit them and won’t know what to do when severe persecution comes to America for the first time.
