“OBEY THE GOVERNMENT . . . “

In the United States of America, our government is the Constitution.  I believe it is an anointed document—

—anointed by wisdom sought from God by men.

—anointed by wisdom preached in sermons for decades.

—anointed by wisdom quoted from the Bible.

—anointed by wisdom written by men who believed in the Bible.

Today, it would please God for us to obey the U.S. Constitution.

Today, it would please God for us to disobey the current government of King BHOB*.

Two centuries ago it pleased God for our founding fathers to disobey the current government of King George.

“‘We must obey God rather than men,’ and we will.”     —–response to Obamacare by President of Lutheran denomination LCMS

PERSECUTION—PROSPERITY——PERSPECTIVE

“For us here in China, the test of our faith is our persecution.

For you there in America, the test of your faith is your prosperity.”

.          —–recent quote from Christian leaders in China

THE TOUGHER THE TEST, THE STRONGER THOSE WHO PASS

OBAMA COURT—THE CAMEL

Once again, I need help drawing political cartoons.

2008—Camel’s nose in the tent.

2012—Camel’s head in the tent.

201?—Camel in the tent.

So what does it mean?

Nobody is talking about the inevitable, certain to happen before 2016.

All the valiant efforts and successes of excellent lawyers going to bat defending our freedoms will soon be history.  All significant cases about our constitutional rights end up at the U. S. Supreme Court.  As soon as BHOB* finishes rearranging the court to fit his agenda, we will have no legal recourse to protect any of our freedoms.

That is why I wrote, “It is now too late to change the course of America by voting.”  (“HOW COULD YOU?”   1-4-13)

Also   “DEATH WISH IN WASHINGTON”   1-3-13   (After voting, perhaps for the last time, then what?  Meaning, now what?)

Oh, thank goodness I don’t have to worry about that, because I don’t live in California.  So it won’t affect me.  And I really don’t care about the problems of people who live in California and believe that.

GOD – – – PATIENT? – OR – JUST?

A short poem my dad often quoted covers a lot of questions—sobering—convicting.

“God’s mills grind slowly,

But they grind exceeding small;

While with patience He may linger,

Yet in justice He grinds all.”

“LORD, WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO?”

Often when I get some insight from God, my first and primary response is eager, even anxious, to share it with someone, or get it written down before I forget it.  (a few days ago I shared the significance of my memory difficulty)

This morning was no exception.  Again, I may forget some profound thoughts (at least I thought profound at the time).  But I will remember one.

Anytime that anything—any thought, any word, any email, any news—or any person interferes with our time with God first thing in the morning (quiet, alone, with His Book, on our knees), our entire day will suffer, no matter how much we have planned (or how much others have planned for us) or how much we think we have to get done.

Here is what I do remember from this morning, and it’s so simple you may miss it.  Don’t.

Several years ago in a close group of Godly men, I prayed aloud, “Lord, what do you want me to do?”  Sounds good, doesn’t it?  But God spoke to me inside immediately, “Leave off the last part, and we can talk.”  So, He wanted me to make my prayer shorter?

“Lord, what do you want?”  I have tried to pray that more, since then, especially when I’m worried about not getting enough done.  Perhaps my greatest nemesis centers around, “I didn’t get anything done.”  To which my pastor once replied, “Are you sure?”  (meaning, according to Whose agenda?)

This morning God gave me a simple, additional insight.  He knows I like to use concise words with significant twists to capture attention and communicate.  So He did the same.

“Lord, what do you want me to do?”  becomes  “Lord, what do you want . . . me?”  Anything else I can pray between those three dots doesn’t matter until He has me.

God wants me—first a relationship—then a closer relationship—time spent talking, together—then, and only then, doing anything worthwhile, together.

God wants you—same thing— first a relationship—then a closer relationship—time spent talking, together—then, and only then, doing anything worthwhile, together.

So, right now, could it be that petting the sweet kitty on my lap is God’s way of stopping my day to practice what I just wrote?

I’ll share a simple story with a very simple line that my dad liked to tell:

There was a lady well up in years who spent most of her day sitting on her front porch in a rocking chair.  Someone asked her if she got bored and lonely.  She replied cheerfully, “Oh no, I just sit here and let God love me.”  Now that’s living.  If only we could all learn her secret of getting stuff done, and inspiring others.

BENEFITS OF BEING A NICE GUY

.

(this space intentionally left blank—but I sure could say something)

“WOLF” – “WOLF” – “WOLF”

“WOLF” once—“WOLF” twice—”WOLF” again (and I mean it this time)—but who cares?

2008 campaign—sheep’s clothing—what wolf?—fooled once

2012 campaign—shepherd’s clothing—blissfully ignorant—fooled twice

2016 campaign—who cares?—too late—fools forever

And we get eaten alive!

By the way, the 2012/2016 campaign never stopped after the election—it’s just paid for by more tax dollars now.

Stimulus—emergency once, emergency twice, dependency . . .  same thing

And we get eaten alive!

Fiscal Cliff—once scary, twice scarier, . . . nothing happened—we don’t believe it matters

And we get eaten alive!

Debt—$16 trillion going once, $20 trillion going twice, $__ trillion sold out by default of Congress and American voters

And we get eaten alive!

Unconstitutional—1962 No God—1973 No Life—2012 No Christianity—2013 No Guns—20?? No Constitution

And we get eaten alive!

And we elected the wolf?  And we re-elected the wolf?

Sadly, the wolf threat has been real every time, but the warnings have been weak and unheeded, and now we are really, really REALLY, REALLY in trouble—REAL TROUBLE THIS TIME.  WOLF! WOLF! HELP! SOMEBODY, H H H E E E L L L P P P!!!  (is anybody out there, help)

How can I speak with authority on this?  I have a gorgeous white wolf who actually cries “WOLF” just so I will give him attention.  But for him it keeps working every time.  Hmmm.  Let me explain the rest of the story.  My wolf is on a very heavy cable leash with an overhead pulley and cable system.  As long as he is restrained, he is a sweet, lovable, huggable, soft, furry friend that howls sweetly on cue.  But if he gets loose, he acts like he doesn’t even know me, and something usually gets killed before I get him back under control.  See the parallel?  So that is thrown in just for fun—for dead serious lesson.

BALANCED BUDGET ? – – – BALANCED LIFE ?

Balanced budget and balanced life seem to become more elusive every year.  And so does true peace and contentment.  They say that young people growing up today have multiple times more anxiety than young people a few generations ago during the Great Depression.

So how is that for a cheerful Monday morning?

If we just gain the right perspective, does that give us balance?

If we have balance in our personal life, especially our spiritual life, does that make all the imbalance in Washington not affect us?  Hardly.  If you think so, just wait and see.

If we lower our expectations, will that help for peace and balance?  Well, compromise and concessions abound, but that just gives the ominous clouds on the horizon more time to darken before the big storm.

“What will be, will be; we can’t do anything about it”—-equals—-slavery.  That does remove some of the uncertainties, but I’m not in that camp.

Politicians promise, preachers pacify, money manipulates, finances frustrate, imbalanced budgets break the back of America, imbalanced lives break the heart of Americans.

The answer for you and me and America is found in putting our hope in the right things, the truth, and acting accordingly.

Lies are alive and well today—some obvious to all—many mistaken for hope.  Postponing truth is dangerous, costly, painful.

Discernment is rare today—even scoffed at—but available.  Start by evaluating your sources for information, interpretation, and personal application.

News sources that do not give a Biblical perspective become brainwashing for all that is evil.

Likewise, preaching that does not give a Biblical application to the issues today, leave people ineffective and unprepared.

How can you know the truth today, put your hope in the right place, and apply it to make a difference in this messy world?

ONE—–Open your Bible and read, several times a day, from different places—until something He says makes a difference in your life.

TWO—–Kneel and pray, alone, before you do anything else every day—wait, until He touches you inside and takes charge.

THREE—–Turn off the TV.  Consider the following two comments, for thought:  “I can hear God better without any TV in my life.”     “TV is not food for thought.”

FOUR—–Listen to American Family Radio-Inspiration and American Family Radio-Talk (afr.net   and    onenewsnow.com).

FIVE—–If you have a pastor (or someone who gives you advice), share this article and this site with that person.  Their response will shed light on both of your lives.

SIX—–Read “LIFE—BALANCED OR BIPOLAR?” from 9-27-12, here.

SEVEN—–Write and tell me where you’re at and what you’re dealing with.

TRADEMARK OF MARRIAGE

What is the trademark of marriage?

Is it happiness?

Is it rights?

Is it love?

Is it me?

Is it benefits?

Is it the ceremony?

Is it skipping the ceremony?

Is it redefined to suit anybody now?

None of the above is the sole trademark of marriage.

Check the inventor of marriage.

Check the manual on marriage by the inventor of marriage.

Now, what is the trademark of marriage?

It is sacrifice.

It is a picture parallel of Jesus’ sacrifice for us.

Such sacrifice is truly a word for thought.
