THE CASE FOR DAYDREAMING, AND BOREDOM, AND . . .

. . . AND SILENCE, AND UNPLUGGED, AND . . .

I’m quite sure that last one made my point.  But there is more.

There is a case for a break—a break from most of what runs our lives today.  But let me just continue the list right now.  I’m aware it’s quite a list, but I’ve never written it down.

The case for . . .

+ DAYDREAMING

+ BOREDOM

+ SILENCE

+ QUIET

+ UNPLUGGED

+ REST

+ STOP

+ ALONE

+ THOUGHT

+ REFLECTION

+ UNHURRIED

+ UNDISTURBED

+ CREATIVITY

+ SENSITIVITY

+ CONSCIOUS INACTIVITY

+ SACRED SUNDAY AFTERNOON NAPS

+ SPECIAL UNTOUCHABLE FRIDAY NIGHTS

+ “CAN’T HEAR YOU NOW”

+ DEFRAG THE HARD DRIVE OF LIFE (I asked my son for that one)

+ UNDIVIDED ATTENTION—ALL BY YOURSELF

+ DON’T ANSWER THAT

+ DON’T EVEN LOOK

+ KEEP YOUR EYES ON THE ROAD

+ EYE TO EYE—NOT SCREEN TO SCREEN

+ TECH FAST—FROM FAST TECH

+ FIVE MINUTE TUMMY BREAK AFTER MEALS

+ LAST THOUGHT OF THE DAY—LET IT GO

+ FIRST THOUGHT OF THE DAY—LET IT WAIT

+ LOOKED AT THE STARS LATELY?

+ LOOKED AT THE CLOUDS LATELY?

+ LOOKED AT ONE BIBLE VERSE LATELY?

+ BE STILL (step one)

+ KNOW (step two)

+ I AM GOD

(If you can, now go through this list and add “by choice” [except the last line] and reflect on each one.  You may be pleasantly surprised—and we need that.)

“GET USED TO IT”—IT’S A DONE DEAL

Totally predictable—we’ve made the transition—we’ve gotten used to it.

GOVERNMENTS GET “THEIRS”

Governments always gets “their share” (plus)—right or wrong—unless the people stop them.  Such is the content of history books.

When I was growing up, I remember my dad opposing Social Security.  He said taking our money for “retirement” was none of the government’s business.  He was right, because the Bible is right—it just takes time for history to prove him right.

Fifty years ago, this is how Daddy handled civil disobedience, and how he was “treated like a common criminal.”  He arranged to have money in his checking account, and the United States government took it without his signature to pay for Social Security.

Americans, Christians, Conservatives, get ready.  Get ready for a repeat of my dad’s experience, and more, very soon.

It doesn’t look good for us now.  Government is never satisfied to get what is “theirs.”  By the way, Jesus said government should get what is theirs.  Today, they are coming after more, and more, and more.  They are coming after us, especially Christians.  It will be difficult.

BUT, if you follow history in the Bible, and look at all world history in its light, you will see the rest of the story.

Governments also “get theirs” in the final chapter, when bad governments and evil leaders get what’s coming to them.  Sometimes, individually, we don’t live long enough to see it, but God is in control.  He sets up empires to do His bidding—even to discipline His own people—and then He takes them down when He pleases.

Such will be the rise and demise of nations today that hate God and His people, as well as nations that loved God and then forgot Him.

YOU CAN’T . . .

You can’t sell it.

You can’t buy it.

You can’t fake it.

You can’t deny it.

You can’t ignore it.

You can’t escape it.

You can’t change it.

You can’t improve it.

You can’t postpone it.

You can’t live without it.

You can’t excuse it away.

You can’t believe it away.

You can’t leave without it.

You can’t substitute x y z for it.

You can’t pretend it doesn’t exist.

You can’t invent an alternative for it.

You can’t claim it does not apply to you.

You can’t get so busy you don’t think about it.

You can’t make enough money so it won’t affect you.

You can’t . . .

You must—

—answer one question:

What shall I do with Jesus?

“IMPEACHMENT—IT’S NOT GOING TO HAPPEN”

We have surrendered and lost the war on all fronts when many leaders across the spectrum openly say that impeachment is not going to happen—say that it wouldn’t do any good—say that it would be a waste of time—say that it wouldn’t succeed because of the Senate—say that it’s too hard to pull it off.

What they are saying is we’ve given up on the Constitution because the other side is winning.

If that is so, then we have a bunch of people in Washington and a bunch of people on the radio that need to apologize to the courageous men who made provision for redress of grievances for just such a time as this—the final act for balance of power.  They expected us to use it—not avoid it like the plague as we’re doing now.

I recently wrote on this site that impeachment is the last peaceful means of saving this country.  I will find no satisfaction in saying, “I told you so.” a few short years from now.

“DO IT NOW”

13)  It’s too hard to try to change the world, because it’s hard enough just making ends meet for my own family.  I say, it’s going to get harder, so whatever you’re going to do that really counts, do it now.

TOMBSTONE TRAGEDY – – – “BOTTOMED OUT”

What’s your bottom line when you’ve bottomed out?

Got anything eternal going ahead of you?

We all do.

Business with death is the ultimate business.

It’s all about location, location, location.  (actually, only two locations)

GLOBAL WARMING ? – CLIMATE CHANGE ?

I would summarize the issue with an alternate title:

“Man Made (?) Natural (?) / Un Natural (?) Disasters (!)”

Actually, “We ain’t seen nothing yet.”

We are promised ultimate, dramatic attention-getters one of these day, world-wide for everyone.

There will be UnNatural Natural Disasters the likes of which this world has never seen.  It will be so very far beyond the imagination of man saying we could create the cause by burning oil or setting bombs.

“Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth:  for the powers of heaven will be shaken.  And then . . .”

Today men arrogantly claim what we think we cause, while we forget what we can cause when we denounce and defy God, until He sends consequences that bring us to our knees one way or the other.

Attention please.

Bottom line for all time.

God will have the Last Word

Because He had the First Word.

In between, now, His Word

Is unchanged, unmoved,

Even it unheeded.

(notice even the shape of those seven lines is trying to point you to the TRUTH)

IT’S TOO HARD

It’s too hard to write this article.  I’m too tired.  I’ve got work to do tomorrow.  All my friends and acquaintances are in the same shape, just trying to get by and make ends meet.

So, what is too hard?

(think about it—to be continued)
