(5) REFORMATION REQUIRED AGAIN – – – AND AGAIN, and . . .

(please read these Reformation articles in numbered order)

I had an embarrassment and an enlightenment several decades ago, talking with a friend who was in the same name-brand church.

I was looking for a Bible verse, and I couldn’t find it.

After much searching, I found it in the church liturgy.

That was a dead give-away to the deadly danger of what the church creates continually.

You can’t tell the difference between man’s words and the Bible, and I knew both well.

Not long after Jesus went back to heaven, the church started this practice of creating statements of what they believe, which developed into prominence rivaling the Bible.

Reciting creeds and liturgy and following forms of worship end up taking more priority time than sharing Bible verses.

And recently, individual churches and organizations are pressured to write “mission statements,” to somehow make them distinct from others.

Local churches, and groups of churches, would do far better to simply be known for Bible verses that they stand on instead of elaborate man-made wording, both old and new.

If you want a sure test of any church, note the prominence of Bible verses shared in church, then get out your own Bible and study it yourself until you find out if the church matches what you read.

After all, that’s what Martin Luther did.

We need to do that, plus be willing to let go of all the distracting and dangerous church stuff that serves to keep the show going, rather than “the one thing needful”—just listening to Jesus.

Luther was used mightily by God, and we are thankful, and we rightly celebrate 500 years after his boldness was broadcast to the world (thanks to Gutenberg, also inspired by God with the printing press).

But Luther did not finish the job—so there is much for us to do.

The church needs reformation.

The church needs revival.

The church needs repentance.

Christians in America will soon learn the sweet renewal of authenticity brought on by persecution—historic, guaranteed, welcomed by the remnant.

Whether the church can officially change is uncertain, just like the Catholic church couldn’t change, but they can’t stop true repentance, revival, and reformation outside the walls.

HILLARAPTURE

And we thought it was the good guys (Christians) who were going to disappear.

It appears that overnight there are a lot of missing persons, mostly from Washington, D.C.

No one is sure how they left, but they did not leave their clothes behind, as in some of the rapture movies.

Of course there is immediate speculation.

There are unconfirmed reports from a D.C. airport of a fully loaded plane—“One Force Air”—leaving in the middle of the night (with no filed flight plan).

And, the passenger list also seems to be unavailable.

The best we can do is piece together the names of persons missing without explanation.

However, the air is very fresh and clear, and firm ground is found to walk through the D.C. “Swamp.”

We will hope for a handful of persons who did not get on the mystery “plane,” to share what they know.

Speculation again, talks of a private island somewhere that is loaded with everything wished for by crooked, slimy, lying politicians with connections to “spiritual wickedness in high places.”

Well, lots of luck to Hillary, BHOB*, and company.

Hope the One Force serves you well (or shall we say, you serve him well).

Have fun while it lasts.

However, all of you will face the same Judge of the universe that the rest of us will face.

Christians have confessed all their sins and laid them at Jesus’ cross.

And so, we are eligible for the real rapture.

Hope you, too, get the message while you have time—while you still breathe.

HILLARAPTURE may have transported you away from prison, laughing.

But someone else is laughing with far more sarcasm than you ever expressed at “deplorables,” “clinging to their guns and God.”

And, above that evil one, “He who sits in the heavens will laugh, and keep them in derision.”

*BHOB—Barack Hussein OBama—Say BHHHOB aloud and it sounds like the warning for Christians in the 2008 election: “Beware of sheep’s clothing.”

HISTORY TODAY

Seventy years and six days after Israel officially became a country again, the United States is set to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel today.

This is confirmed to be the right action by several facts:

-Historically, Jerusalem was the capital of Israel.

-The Jewish people know that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel.

-The opposition in the Arab world to Jerusalem being the capital of Israel, is actually confirmation that this is the right thing to do.

-God said He will bless those who bless Israel, and He will curse those who curse Israel.

-This action puts America on the right side with God, by blessing Israel.

GOD, WHAT DO YOU WANT ?

“God does not need our success.

He wants our surrender.”

Pick any of the dozens of “doctrines” that separate Christians and churches, and you will find stacks of “proof texts” that are supposed to absolutely prove the particular view or belief.

And you will find stacks of “proof texts” that are supposed to absolutely prove the opposite view or belief.

At the very least, this is a huge turnoff for many people looking in, considering Christianity.

And those who do sign up for following Jesus are expected to also endorse the positions that make that church different.

Some churches keep Jesus the main thing, but most emphasize their distinctives and become known for what makes them different.

Many claim exclusive rights to the truth, and think they alone are destined to protect the pure Word of God.

When a church or organization locks in to a position on an issue, it usually becomes necessary to hold on to that view more tightly and spend more time and energy defending it than telling people about Jesus.

For individuals and for groups, it is so easy to focus on what makes them different from other Christians, more than what is supposed to make all Christians different from the world.

Churches need to be aware of the actual message they are sending to the outsider, who needs Jesus.

Churches need to encourage their people to read and study their Bibles, to find all the passages impacting their lives on any issue.

The purpose of Bible Study is for Christians to find out if what they are being taught is true, and then find out what they are supposed to do with it.

The purpose of Bible Study is not to defend and maintain any organization.

Theological merry-go-round vocabulary is invented for control and job security.

People join and get on the merry-go-round because it’s different, unique, makes them feel special.

Everyone on the merry-go-round gets to speak the same special language.

They understand each other, even if they don’t really understand what they’re talking about.

A few people in charge of inventing the theological vocabulary may have once understood their meaning, and those later in charge of teaching such vocabulary understand how well it works to maintain control of the people who sign up for their brand of church.

And as long as the merry-go-round keeps spinning, the leaders have job security.

What gets lost is the plain, simple teaching that the “members” are supposed to get directly from the Bible for themselves.

No theological language is worth a dime if it can’t communicate to the person who doesn’t know Jesus.

Words from the Bible are true and trustworthy—words invented by man are suspect.

JUDGMENT ON AMERICA – – – WHEN ?

How can God withhold judgment on America?

The current insanity spreading like a plague is His judgment.

After all, He has used several options to bring His wandering people back to Him.

“When they knew God, they glorified Him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.”  —His Book

“So God gave them up . . .”  —His Book

“So God gave them up . . .”  —His Book

“God gave them over . . .”   —His Book

It’s not pretty when God gives up on people and gives them over to their own devices and desires.

Read it for yourself:  His Book—Romans chapter 1, verses 21-32.

Pray that God giving America up to the rampant evil we wanted, is not God giving up on us, but using it as a means to bring us back to Him.  (Reread that last line, very slowly.)

NOT IN AMERICA ?

“All you have to do is have somebody complain, and the authorities will shut down a church.”

That is the current reality in Egypt

or

in America?

It’s starting to sound a little too familiar—getting a little closer to home, here.

Unless you are totally ignoring the reports on alternate news media—American Family Radio.

GUN CONTROL – – – AND GOD

If only God would have issued strict gun control before Cain killed Abel!

Think of all the murders that would have been prevented ever since.

We could all still be living in Paradise.

Oh, I just remembered something went wrong before that murder, something inside of man toward God.

And that explains every crime since then.

Oh, I just remembered that Cain did not use a gun to kill his brother—in fact, we don’t know what he used.

And, I just realized that many murders are committed even without a weapon.

Gun control laws are not about controlling crimes of murder—they are all about a small group of people (with guns) controlling the rest of the people (without guns).

And that statement has the proof of history—repeatedly.

TALK ? – – – or – – – ACTION ?

I’ve seen far more child abuse when parents talk and talk, when the child desperately needs a quick spank.

A young child learns a whole lot more from a little pain than from a lot of talk—including security, love, respect, responsibility, and later independence.
