The mistake is labeling with human wording what the Bible \u2018says\u2019 (whether it says so or not).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We want to come up with statements that make us comfortable, when some Bible verses make us uncomfortable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We want to settle questions and debates over passages in the Bible that say one thing while other passages seem to say something different.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Some are compelled to defend the Bible, and try to explain everything and answer every question to our satisfaction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
You might say they could put their name on the Bible, for all they have added to make it clear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Okay, several well-known Bible teachers have done exactly that.

— MacArthur Study Bible
I appreciate listening to these two faithful leaders, but I would stop short of putting their name on the Bible.
It would be better to just print “THE BIBLE”—and include personal notes, but not part of the Bible with their name up front.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
(It can be said that “Study Bible” is redundant.)
