{"id":7176,"date":"2025-01-11T22:34:36","date_gmt":"2025-01-12T04:34:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.awordforthought.com\/?p=7176"},"modified":"2025-01-11T22:34:37","modified_gmt":"2025-01-12T04:34:37","slug":"i-think-i-believe-i-teach","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.awordforthought.com\/?p=7176","title":{"rendered":"I THINK, I BELIEVE, I TEACH"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>If you follow me, my teaching, this is what I think you should believe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On what basis should I follow someone who says, &#8220;I think, I believe, and so I teach.&#8221; ?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Honestly, I&#8217;m growing weary of &#8216;respected&#8217; theologian teachers going over and over the different viewpoints on a subject (historically and currently), and then expounding on the one they subscribe to.<br>It reduces Bible Study and doctrine to&#8212;choosing a person to follow&#8212;and letting them tell you what to think and believe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Isn&#8217;t there a better way than repeatedly pointing out the complexity of varied interpretations.<br>The most loaded topic nowadays is the bandwagon of end-time time-lines.<br>Everybody has one, and everybody else has another one.<br>Repetition seldom makes presentation of any case any stronger&#8212;only increases dedication to it.<br>This is not how to do Bible Study&#8212;and current day consensus is elusive and un-Biblical.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Should we not stick to what the Bible says to start with, instead of adding Bible passages to back up our teaching ?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That is an <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">age-old<\/span> problem&#8212;and that is an age-old solution, timeless.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>If you follow me, my teaching, this is what I think you should believe.
