The current consensus changes—it is changing currently, as in walking back some of the ‘absolute’ facts and mandates during covid (just one example).
No wonder people who follow the current consensus as the ‘gospel truth’, have to end up saying there is no truth—I have my truth, you have your truth,
They are lost without the truth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Biggest example of ongoing, constantly changing current consensus—the age of the earth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
—- According to 21st current consensus, the age of the earth is 4.5 billion years.
++ In the 21st century, the Bible says the age of the earth is 6000 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
—- According to mid-20th century current consensus, when I was is school, the age of the earth was 3 billion years.
++ In mid-20th century, the Bible said the age of the earth is 6000 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
—- According to 18th century current consensus, the age of the earth was about 100 million years.
++ In the 18th century, the Bible said the age of the earth is 6000 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Unfortunately no one explained to me how I could have figured that out myself, just adding and multiplying numbers from the Bible.

As I was reading in search of consensus for the age of the earth in past millennia (didn’t find much for a long time ago), I was amused and lost in the complexity of more recent scientific discoveries that changed the age of the earth, from really old to really, really old.
And now they believe they got it right because their number of 4.5 billion years hasn’t changed for over half a century.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A few quotes I found interesting—<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“in 1921 . . . British Association for the Advancement of Science came to a rough consensus that Earth was a few billion years old.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Scientists have calculated the age of our planet to be approximately 4.5 billion years. But how did scientists determine that age? The answer is complicated . . .”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“. . . support the fact that Earth and the rest of the Solar System formed at around 4.53 to 4.58 billion years ago.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Note that consensus becomes fact—and evolution with billions of years is taught to children as fact, without evidence, without objection.
