Every counsel to not worry has a flipside—that we must plan—that we must take care of things.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There is a serious problem when we apply human counsel to flip Bible verses to fit our thinking for ourselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“God helps those who help themselves” is not even in the Bible—it doesn’t match with the Bible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“\u00a0<\/sup>Come now, you who say, ‘Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit’;\u00a0<\/sup>whereas you do not know what will happen<\/em> tomorrow. For what is<\/em> your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. Instead you ought<\/em> to say, ‘If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that.’ But now you boast in your arrogance.
