What day of the month?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
What day of the year?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
What day of my life?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
What day is the last day?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Well, THIS IS THE DAY!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
What makes today special?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“This is the day the Lord has made . . .”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“This is the day the Lord has made—let us rejoice and be glad in it.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Do you sometimes thank God at the very, very beginning of the day, and get excited about the gift?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Three wonderful things happened first thing this morning:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
+The sun came up this morning, again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
+I saw the sun come up this morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
+I thanked God for the morning, this morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What day is THE LORD’S DAY?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Nearly everybody knows The Lord’s Day is Sunday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But why do we call Sunday The Lord’s Day?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Because Jesus rose from the dead “on the first day of the week,” Sunday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So, the purpose of The Lord’s Day is to remember that, sincerely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sunday became like the Sabbath.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But why was the Sabbath The Lord’s Day?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It is a commandment from God four thousand years ago, to be a day of rest—no work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
God said it was because He also rested on the seventh day, after Creation, six thousand years ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jesus said, “The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So “Remember the Sabbath Day, to keep it holy,” as a blessing, a gift from God, for rest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
You’ll be glad you did, every time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

THE DAY OF THE LORD—sounds a little ominous, different from This Day (today) and The Lord’s Day (Sunday).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When is The Day Of The Lord?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We don’t know, and His Book tells us we can’t know when, but it hasn’t happened yet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“The Day Of The Lord is coming.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“The <\/strong>Day Of The Lord is near.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n “The <\/strong>Day Of The Lord is at hand.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n “Blow the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the <\/strong>Day Of The Lord is coming, for it is at hand.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n “The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible Day Of The Lord comes.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n “The Day Of The Lord will come as a thief in the night; in which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are in it shall be burned up.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n “Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to conduct yourselves in holiness and godliness.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cLook, I am coming soon! Blessed is the one who keeps the words of the prophecy written in this book.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cLook, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done.”*<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cYes, I am coming soon.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n “Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n “The spirit may be saved in the Day Of The Lord Jesus.”*<\/p>\n\n\n\n – – –<\/p>\n\n\n\n I wish we’d all been ready.<\/p>\n\n\n\n There’s no time to change your mind;<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Son has come,<\/p>\n\n\n\n And you’ve been left behind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n – – –<\/p>\n\n\n\n WOW, that is loaded, and it’s only part of the verses on The Day Of The Lord in His Book.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I chose to address The Day Of The Lord by only quoting Bible verses and the song verse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n *Referring to the two verses with *—Jesus will give rewards for work we have done, not salvation for work we have done—Our spirit is saved by believing in the work Jesus has done for us.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" What day is it, today?
