{"id":3209,"date":"2016-03-24T11:26:14","date_gmt":"2016-03-24T16:26:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.awordforthought.com\/?p=3209"},"modified":"2016-03-24T11:29:45","modified_gmt":"2016-03-24T16:29:45","slug":"prepare-to-be-a-refugee","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.awordforthought.com\/?p=3209","title":{"rendered":"PREPARE TO BE A REFUGEE ?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Brace yourself, to be uncomfortable.<br \/>\nIf this message does not make you uncomfortable, you may be in a dangerous place.*<br \/>\nDo you feel at home, here in America?<br \/>\nThankful to live in America, yes&#8212;at home in America, dangerous.<\/p>\n<p>American Christians:<br \/>\nWhat Is Your Focus?<\/p>\n<p>Where Is Your Time Spent?<\/p>\n<p>Where Is Your Energy Spent?<\/p>\n<p>Where Is Your Money Spent?<\/p>\n<p>Where Is Your Money Saved?<\/p>\n<p>Where Is Your Love Given?<\/p>\n<p>Do you know that money equals love, according to Jesus?<br \/>\n\u201cWhere your treasure is, there your heart will be also.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>And what about your stuff?<br \/>\nWhen Jesus asks you to give it all away, would you go away very sad because you have \u201cgreat possessions\u201d?<br \/>\nEnter, the most foreign term to Americans&#8212;REFUGEE.<\/p>\n<p>Jesus asked a rich, eager, influential, young man to voluntarily give it all away, and follow Him, if he wanted to complete his goal of entering heaven.<br \/>\nRefugees have to give up everything involuntarily, without choice, without warning, without time, just to maybe save their lives.<br \/>\nCould that happen to Americans?<br \/>\nCould that happen to American Christians?<br \/>\nCould that determine who are true Christians&#8212;who do not just say, \u201cLord, Lord\u201d?<\/p>\n<p>Can we prepare to be refugees, in America?<br \/>\nShould we prepare to be refugees?<br \/>\nThere is no other \u201cAmerica\u201d for American refugees to flee to.<\/p>\n<p>So what are Christians supposed to do, now, and when crisis comes here?<br \/>\nAnswer: Get closer to Jesus, for real, and start listening and following exactly what His Book tells us, even what is contrary to American culture and American finance.<br \/>\nAnd that may call for very drastic, practical changes in our daily lives, before such changes are thrust upon us by others.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are strangers and pilgrims in this world.\u201d<br \/>\n\u201cDo not love the world, or the things in the world.\u201d<br \/>\n\u201cSet your affections on things above, not on things on the earth.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This world is not my home,<br \/>\nI\u2019m just a passing through.<br \/>\nMy treasures are laid up<br \/>\nSomewhere beyond the blue.<\/p>\n<p>The angels beckon me<br \/>\nFrom heaven\u2019s open door;<br \/>\nAnd I won\u2019t feel at home<br \/>\nIn this world anymore.<\/p>\n<p>The more you feel at home in this world, the less likely you would feel at home in heaven.<br \/>\nIf you want to change that, read more here; but especially read more in His Book&#8212;it will make a difference in the parts that are for keeps, starting now.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<br \/>\n*If the enemy of our souls, the devil, has not tried to attack you lately, perhaps it is because he does not need to.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Brace yourself, to be uncomfortable.
