&#8211; &#8211; WHAT\u2019S IT TO YOU ?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>First of all, that question is not addressed to God.<br \/>\nActually, it is to all the people who sincerely are not happy with God, for lots of reasons.<br \/>\nChange \u201cit\u201d to \u201cGod\u201d in the question&#8212;perhaps with a little \u201cg\u201d&#8212;so everyone can be honest.<br \/>\nSo, I\u2019m asking, \u201cWhat is god to you?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Answers:<br \/>\n\u201cIf I was god, I would . . . \u201c<br \/>\n\u201cIf god was good, he would . . . \u201c<br \/>\n\u201cIf god was just, he would . . . the bad people.\u201d<br \/>\n\u201cIf god was nice, he would . . . for me.\u201d<br \/>\n\u201cIf god was strong, he would fix . . . \u201c<br \/>\n\u201cWhy doesn\u2019t god do something about . . . ?\u201c<br \/>\n\u201cWhy does god allow . . . ?\u201c<br \/>\n\u201cWhy me, god . . . ?\u201c<br \/>\n\u201cWhy, god . . . ?\u201c<br \/>\n\u201cI don\u2019t believe in god, because . . . \u201c<br \/>\n\u201cThere is no god, and I hate him, because . . . \u201c<br \/>\n\u201cIf god was real, . . . \u201c<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m curious if anyone felt a bit strange reading this so far with a small \u201cg\u201d for god.<br \/>\nIf you have a serious beef with God, then \u201cgod\u201d should make you more comfortable.<br \/>\nJust checking.<\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s start with this, if you question God\u2019s existence:<br \/>\nThink about this, honestly, \u201cThere is no God\u201d&#8212;is that a fact, or a decision that you have come to, based on your experiences and thinking?<br \/>\nIf it is a fact that there is no God, then that would have to be a fact for everyone&#8212;it would have to be true for everyone.<br \/>\nGod cannot exist for some people, and not for you.<\/p>\n<p>Now, a small \u201cg\u201d god is a different story.<br \/>\nWe have a lot more options.<br \/>\nEvery one of us can choose, and decide, and live according to what we want god to be, or not to be.<br \/>\nHowever, every one of the dozen sample answers above has a hint of something greater than ourselves, someone greater than our imaginations, that is behind everything we see and everything we cannot see.<br \/>\nIt does take a decision to choose to deny that&#8212;and a considerable amount of effort and energy.<\/p>\n<p>GOD &#8211; &#8211; &#8211; WHAT\u2019S \u201cIT\u201d TO YOU?<br \/>\nAre you okay referring to god as \u201cit\u201d?<br \/>\nWhat is your god to you?<br \/>\nWhat is your idea of god?<br \/>\nIf we have the freedom to ask and answer these questions, then billions of other people have the freedom to come up with billions of answers, and billions of different gods.<br \/>\nPrecisely&#8212;the human record of invented religions.<\/p>\n<p>And that brings up another reality.<br \/>\nMan not only has the freedom to invent gods&#8212;he has the need to invent gods.<br \/>\nIf you think that does not apply to you&#8212;that you have no need of any god crutch or religion crutch&#8212;then re-read the above when circumstances bring you to the end of your rope, or to the end of your life.<\/p>\n<p>Reality here may not bring all of us together on the same page, but reality hereafter does.<\/p>\n<p>There is a saying that life is a buffet, but when we die, we find that there were only two choices on the menu.<br \/>\nAnd we find out if we made the right choice&#8212;God, or god.<\/p>\n<p>The by-line for AWordforThought.com is \u201cMaking a Difference In Your Life In The Parts That Are For Keeps.\u201d<br \/>\nThis article is not merely a mental exercise for intellectual debate.<br \/>\nBut I will use words and reasoning to persuade you with truth.<\/p>\n<p>If there is God (not a god), then:<\/p>\n<p>+We are not God.<br \/>\n+He is in charge.<br \/>\n+He made everything.<br \/>\n+He made us, kind of like Him.<br \/>\n+He made us with choices.<br \/>\n+He made us accountable to Him.<br \/>\n+He watched us make wrong choices.<br \/>\n+He decided proper punishment.<br \/>\n+He provided a Substitute for us, for that.<br \/>\n+He gives us a second chance, to make a second choice.<br \/>\n+He is waiting, now, for us, for you, to accept His offer.<br \/>\n+He will set the record straight, for all the questions above.<br \/>\n+And (I could have said this at the beginning), He has communicated in writing everything we need to know about Him and history and His plans for the future.<\/p>\n<p>The four big questions, that cover all of our questions:<\/p>\n<p>HOW DID IT GET STARTED?<br \/>\n\u201cIn the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.&#8221;<br \/>\n&#8220;And God made man in His own image.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>HOW DID IT GET MESSED UP?<br \/>\n\u201cAnd the serpent (devil) said, \u2018Did God really say you shall not eat?\u2019&#8221;<br \/>\n&#8220;And the woman ate, and her husband ate.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>HOW DID IT GET FIXED?<br \/>\n\u201cGod so loved the world that He gave His only Son; that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>HOW DOES IT END?<br \/>\n\u201cI go to prepare a place for you. And I will come again and take you to myself; that where I am, there you may be also.\u201d<br \/>\n\u201cThe thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy.
