Does a new year make a difference?<\/p>\n
Yes, indeed.<\/p>\n
Just the fact that people notice New Year’s Day means something.<\/p>\n
We all have a sense of urgency that there are important things we should take care of, and a new year seems to tell us we don’t have forever to do so.<\/p>\n
We all know that “new” wears off—new car smell, new house, new love, new year, new year’s resolutions.<\/p>\n
So be it.\u00a0 But let us not let that stop us from setting goals, especially for those things that “make a difference in the parts that are for keeps.” (If you read awhile on this site, you will soon know what I mean by that by-line.)<\/p>\n
Does a new day matter?<\/p>\n
Yes, indeed.<\/p>\n
Here is my suggestion for all of us:<\/p>\n
Do whatever works for you about New Year’s Resolutions, but do make the following New Day Resolution.\u00a0 (The best deal is, you get a new day every day, if you didn’t keep it today.)<\/p>\n
Everybody can do this—EVERYBODY!<\/p>\n
Five minutes a day—<\/p>\n
First minute of the day—talk to Jesus, and give Him the day.\u00a0 That’s it, just one minute, before anything else<\/span>.<\/p>\n Next two minutes of the day—read something in your Bible.\u00a0 That’s it, just two minutes.<\/p>\n Next two minutes of the day—write something in your Bible or next to your Bible, and date it—any thought, or something to pray about.\u00a0 That’s it, just two minutes.<\/p>\n Five minutes a day—at the beginning of the day—that’s it.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n “In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths.”\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 —–His Book<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Does a new year make a difference?
