{"id":2850,"date":"2015-06-29T19:43:28","date_gmt":"2015-06-30T00:43:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.awordforthought.com\/?p=2850"},"modified":"2015-08-26T16:59:23","modified_gmt":"2015-08-26T21:59:23","slug":"dont-telegraph-your-passes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.awordforthought.com\/?p=2850","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;DON&#8217;T TELEGRAPH YOUR PASSES&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I played basketball my second year at a small junior college .<\/p>\n<p>Not much to say about how I did, but I do remember the coach&#8217;s often repeated line, &#8220;Don&#8217;t telegraph your passes.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>You can guess where I&#8217;m going with this&#8212;applied to war, today.<\/p>\n<p>Seems when the good guys broadcast their intentions, they suffer and lose.<\/p>\n<p>Seems when the bad guys make their intentions clear, nobody believes them, and nobody responds accordingly.<\/p>\n<p>War is complicated, and war is hell, and waiting to wage a winnable war is worse.<\/p>\n<p>Something has got to be simple in all the mess.<\/p>\n<p>The consequences of losing this one today are unthinkable, even though people see those consequences every day on their screen.<\/p>\n<p>BHOB* keeps telling everyone when we will end wars, while the enemy keeps telling everyone they&#8217;re going to intensify the war, until they reach their goal&#8212;us.<\/p>\n<p>So the bad guys telegraph their passes, and the good guys don&#8217;t get it.<\/p>\n<p>How come?<\/p>\n<p>The &#8220;good guys&#8221;\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">ARE<\/span> the bad guys&#8212;running the show from Washington, along with those running the show from the Middle East.<\/p>\n<p>A lot of Americans realize how bad, how evil, the leadership is in Washington.<\/p>\n<p>So why can&#8217;t we defeat them?<\/p>\n<p>For too long the REAL &#8220;good guys&#8221; in America have telegraphed our passes and made it clear that we will avoid violence at all cost.<\/p>\n<p>Because we avoid violence, the cost of the coming violence will be enormous.<\/p>\n<p>We wait for the next election, and we hope, and we lose.<\/p>\n<p>This last one turned out to be snatching political defeat from the jaws of election victory, again.<\/p>\n<p>Everybody&#8217;s wrapped up in what the &#8220;leaders&#8221; should be doing, and what should happen in 2016.<\/p>\n<p>Again, we&#8217;re making it clear that we&#8217;re counting on another election, while the enemy (inside and out) laughs and plans their final assault, long before then.<\/p>\n<p>They couldn&#8217;t be more obvious&#8212;plenty of dates and intentions, in 2015, and we wait?<\/p>\n<p>And we just passed the midpoint of 2015.<\/p>\n<p>God help us now&#8212;We need a miracle.<\/p>\n<p>And give us all supernatural gun control&#8212;with our two hands held by Yours.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>*BHOB\u2014Barack Hussein OBama\u2014Say BHHHOB aloud and it sounds like the warning for Christians in the 2008 election: \u201cBeware of sheep\u2019s clothing.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I played basketball my second year at a small junior college .
