There are two parts to this issue, but first raise the more significant question, “Why do you ask?”<\/p>\n
Most people have issues with God because they don’t want to be accountable to Him.\u00a0 We know we will fail the accountability test, so we grasp for anything that may help distract from that reality.<\/p>\n
If God was fair,<\/p>\n
One—You and I would be toast.\u00a0 The ten commandments provide plenty to explain the bad in the world, and the bad inside every one of us.<\/p>\n
0r,<\/p>\n
Tw0—Someone would be toasted for us.\u00a0 And that is what happened.\u00a0 We can all comprehend someone doing us a favor, giving us a gift, paying a debt for us.\u00a0 But the big one—someone dying for us so we don’t have to die and go to hell—most people want to avoid that.\u00a0 And yet it is the best deal in all of history, and forever.<\/p>\n
Maybe God is not fair—making his own son die so we can go to heaven.\u00a0 But that’s what He did.\u00a0 He told us all about it in the Bible.\u00a0 It’s a free ticket out of the worst place to the best place to go after we die.<\/p>\n
The catch—He just expects to be in charge of\u00a0 our entire life from then on.\u00a0 Not only the best deal—the only deal.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
