{"id":1219,"date":"2012-11-29T20:01:28","date_gmt":"2012-11-30T02:01:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.awordforthought.com\/?p=1219"},"modified":"2012-11-29T20:01:28","modified_gmt":"2012-11-30T02:01:28","slug":"what-is-an-ambassador","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.awordforthought.com\/?p=1219","title":{"rendered":"WHAT IS AN AMBASSADOR?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The meaning of \u201cambassador\u201d has been distorted, and I say ravaged, by the current administration in the White House.<\/p>\n<p>Ambassador used to mean a highly honored (and protected) representative of a country or a king, requiring the highest integrity and synonymous with the best of everything the country stands for.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Recent events involving two U.S. Ambassadors and the Secretary of State (ambassador to the world) have revealed one more departure from the America we have known for over two centuries.<\/p>\n<p>One ambassador was disposable.<\/p>\n<p>One ambassador was dispensable&#8212;as in dispensing lies for the \u201cpresident.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Secretary of State was lauded for negotiating \u201cpeace\u201d with enemies, at the expense of our ally.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Secretary of State (or potential future candidate) is part of a \u201cteam\u201d in an Administration, not a water girl to deliver lies in ignorance.<\/p>\n<p>Likewise, if the U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. admits to delivering lies from the \u201cpresident\u201d to the world&#8212;how could that person not be complicit?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The meaning of \u201cambassador\u201d has been distorted, and I say ravaged, by the current administration in the White House.
