{"id":1146,"date":"2012-11-19T09:57:26","date_gmt":"2012-11-19T15:57:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.awordforthought.com\/?p=1146"},"modified":"2012-11-19T09:57:26","modified_gmt":"2012-11-19T15:57:26","slug":"prodigal-sons","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.awordforthought.com\/?p=1146","title":{"rendered":"PRODIGAL SON(S)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>(deeper spiritual lesson here&#8212;perhaps for limited audience&#8212;but open invitation to all)<\/p>\n<p>I would draw attention to the (s).<\/p>\n<p>There are rightly two prodigal sons in the story.<\/p>\n<p>There is one that gets the attention&#8212;but gets right when he gets on the road for home, before he gets the attention.<\/p>\n<p>The other does not get right&#8212;even though he has been faithfully working &#8220;at home&#8221; all the time, he cannot enter his father&#8217;s house in response to his father&#8217;s pleading invitation.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>How about you?<\/p>\n<p>Are you a son or daughter of the Father?\u00a0 Have you accepted Jesus as your King and surrendered everything?<\/p>\n<p>Then what?<\/p>\n<p>Decide which path of the two prodigal sons you will take.<\/p>\n<p>As I said a few days ago (11-16-12 &#8220;THE REMNANT REVOLTS&#8221;), God&#8217;s true followers wander and need to return.<\/p>\n<p>Some of us have wandered into &#8220;far countries&#8221; and done it all, and gotten broken, and come to our senses, and returned home.<\/p>\n<p>Some of us have been &#8220;so good&#8221; working outside the house, and think we deserve something for it, and miss the invitation to the party.\u00a0 We think we&#8217;re better than the &#8220;other&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The older son had his reasons, and so do we.<\/p>\n<p>Please, don&#8217;t miss the party.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>(deeper spiritual lesson here&#8212;perhaps for limited audience&#8212;but open invitation to all) I would draw attention to the (s).
