Daddy told the story of a farmer who scoffed at God, especially by bragging to a Christian neighbor about his prosperity:<\/p>\n

“I plowed this field on Sunday.<\/p>\n

I planted this field on Sunday.<\/p>\n

I harvested this field on Sunday.<\/p>\n

I made a bumper crop from this field on Sunday.”<\/p>\n

The neighbor simply responded, “God doesn’t settle all of His accounts on Sunday.”<\/p>\n

Another story (my contribution):<\/p>\n

“I worked hard.<\/p>\n

I built my business.<\/p>\n

I expanded my business.<\/p>\n

I made a lot of money.<\/p>\n

I invested it and made more money.<\/p>\n

Now I am retired and taking it easy.<\/p>\n

Don’t tell me that storing up treasure on earth doesn’t work.”<\/p>\n

And the response is, “God doesn’t settle all of His accounts upon your retirement.”<\/p>\n
